The passport is an identification document. And to identify — that’s the purpose of TSA.
Plus, the Philippines won’t accept her entry into the country without a valid passport or a consulate-generated travel document.
It makes sense that the passport should be valid.

Yes, they could. TSA requires passports for international airline travel.
I ask because it would seem like if an immigrant wanted to go home, the TSA wouldn't say no.

Isn't her passport still valid though? Is the TSA going to tell her she cannot go back to the Philippines because her passport is not valid?

Afternoon,
I applied to get the conditions removed for my wife's green card a year and a half ago. I got a letter back some months ago, saying the expiration date is extended another year due to processing time but travel is authorized. Before that, I even got a later saying we did not have to do bio-metrics or an interview and that all way good an no refund on the biometrics.
My wife wants to go back home to the Philippines. What paperwork do we need, her Philipines passport has expired too. I've heard two different things, like her passport doesn't expire when she is over her and she only needs the green card to get back in.

Yeah, thanks for the help. We'll have it mailed, after outside the country.

I know it's an odd thing to ask, but the answer is yes. However, I am trying to find more about the details.

How does one abandon their conditional green card while they are still in the US? The instructions I read, involved doing so after you left. I'd really like to do that before leaving the US.

Thanks for the clarification. She'll be please that she can get a job now.

I need some clarification about the green card. My wife just had her interview and she is being issued a green card. I was informed that I could go back to the SSN office and get her a new SSN without the DHS work disclaimer. Does this mean she can legally work in the USA now?
The reason I ask, is I did file a I-765 (The EAD) and it's still in process. So is the EAD no longer needed since she'll be getting her green card now?

Thanks for the info! That helps very much.

Even past the K-1 Visa expiration date?
-
So my wife's K-1 Visa expires at the start of next month. What can she do for a valid ID until she get's her green card? Our interview isn't till the end of January, but she wants to fly (in the USA) to meet a friend because she's having a baby. I don't want her to be hassled by the TSA or if she goes through one of those border patrol check points.

We just moved today, and I am updating my wife's I-765 and I-485 applications.
I got to this link: http://www.uscis.gov/addresschange
Send I have a pending application, I follow step 1 and step 2. However, when I click on step too, it takes me to the same link as step one. Then there's a link at the bottom of the process, that takes me again to the same place that you can do both. At the end of the process it said I received a confirmation number and was told to expect a reply by 30 DEC 2015.
So just by feeling out the form once, I should be good? Or was the link bad and I need to go somewhere else?

I put C-9, that's what all the info said to do.

They even cashed the check 1070, sent me a biometrics appointment. From previous post, I am sure I did the correct thing.
So my question is how do i fix the issue and resubmit? My wife really would like to be able to work here.

Hi All-
I submited my AoS package last month. Rejecting the I-765, Application for Empolyment Authorization. The reason is the payment amount was incorrect.
I took this from the guide:
"Note: Applicants filing for this benefit at the same time or while an Adjustment of Status (I-485) application is pending are not required to pay any fee as it was included in the "total cost" of the I-485."
I thought the payment of $1070 for the entire AoS was the total cost? What part am I misunderstanding?

Thanks for the advice.

I was double checking my AoS packet, and I had to reorder a marriage certiricate. The one I have is a keepsake only, looks pretty offical to me though. I only notice because I read the back of it. There's no guarentee that the marriage certiciate will come back to me before I send the AoS packet off. What am I suppose to do in this situation?

I preparing the AoS packing as per the guide, and it mentions writing down the A-number on the back of the passport photos. My wife does not have an A-Number. Should I write another number?
-
I did a K-1 visa, and we are married now and I am looking at the AoS process. I want to make sure I undrestand it.
So the biometric and medical is after I file all the paper work?

I read this article today.
My finacee is waiting on an interview date, does this affect it?
-
Good Morning,
I posted in another forum, lots of views but no replies. Most my post in that forum are unanswered. So I thought I try this on. People are talking on other threads,. I am sorry for the semi-repost,
My process seems to be stuck. I received a letter (first of February) saying the NVC received my packet and next step they will send it to the consulate and contact my fiance. The process can take several weeks. I thought the process is slow, but my finacee has a friend that started about the same time as her and is already in the USA.
My fiance did move before the I-129F, and I called the consulate to let them know of the address change. They had me make a profile for her, and put her information in it. I have heard nothing since. I did call since that and tried to ask but they just babbled. My fiance has heard nothing either.
According to the guide on the site, my fiance should have already gotten an appointment as her friend did. I expect to at least heard something ,whether it's process or on hold for something.
I really don't know what to do, I'm at my wits end.
Thanks for the time,
-J

I put my timeline in my signature, so I hope people can see it. Last post I did no one could see my timeline and I don't know why.

I have another question if I may, from reading the form, the Philippines doesn't recognize our marriage? Is that how to interpret it? Especially when I read about how to prove it they are asking for OfficalPhilippine Government Paperwork.
So her maiden name will go on her passport?
