  1. Thanks for your respond , I just have a few questions of you don't mind

How many times did you meet with your fiancé ? , and how was his interview ?

It was in Arabic or English

Thanks again for taking the time to respond :)

Hi there! We first met in Turkey then I visited him and his family in Egypt once! His interview was in English and his English is advanced but judging by your English typed here you should be fine! :)

Oh and his interview went GREAT but I know they don't all go that way. Sometimes you get a mean interviewer but people still get approved. Just because they are rude are hard on your doesn't mean you won't get approved.

  2. What was the "somethngs" that u showed her?

We showed a few pictures and some of the joint things we have such as our bank account, dental insurance, joint tax filing, my license, his state ID.......BUT she didn't really want to see anything. She basically said save it all for when we apply for the 10 year Green Card :)

Thank you very much everyone!!! :)

  3. she was handed a paper stating that her Immigration Visa has been approved by the Consular Officer .

After not hearing anything from the U.S. Embassy Cairo for nearly a month, my wife received a phone call on February 23, 2015 saying she needed me to send an e-mail stating that I have never married after divorcing NILDA E PAGAN on 12/9/2004. Since the divorce,

never ask for any other evidence .

the only answer I am getting is :

Thank you for your e-mail message.

Please note that your case is currently undergoing mandatory administrative processing. The time needed to review an individual’s case is difficult to predict. Once this process is complete, we will notify you of the next step in your case.

    Regards,

    Consular Staff

Administrative processing can be a nightmare or it might not take long. I have read on here that if it takes longer than 2 months to contact your congressman.

  4. One last thing, we did not receive a decision at the time of the interview. From what I have read here, that is fairly common, but seems to depend on the interviewer. Don't be discouraged, or disappointed if that happens to you. Our interviewer all be said we were approved when she started talking about needing to do the ROC process in two years less 90 days, but told us she needed to review the package in detail before a decision (most likely a review with a supervisor as well). We got our approval via text and the USCIS site two days later (and had a nice celebration) and received the written notice about six days later.

    Good Luck!

Thank you for your response! It made me feel a lot better!!! :D I'll make sure not to panic hehe

  5. Your profile shows F-1, so is that the visa you are adjusting from? The poster of this thread is adjusting from a K-1 visa and did not need to file an I-130, which is the form that requires proof of bona fide relationship when initially filing.

OP> They are usually understanding that you don't have much joint/co-mingling proof for AOS. Take the proof of your joint bank account. Did you file joint 2014 taxes yet? Use a copy of that. IDs showing same address? Lease or mortgage in both names? Joint insurances of any kind? Listed as beneficiaries of each other for insurances of any kind?

Ok. So, I found more joint things to show. We have joint bank account for awhile now. I filed our taxes jointly (even though he didn't work at all) and made a copy of that paperwork. We have a joint lease agreement at our apartment. He got a state ID with our address and I have my license to show for same address. I also have him on my dental insurance which shows his name on my card and he has his own card. Then pictures. I hope this will satisfy them!

Hi, thanks for your response, yes I am F1 and out of status so I have no form of Identification yet.

We only have photos and notarized letters from friends and family. My passport is expired so she couldn't add me to her bank account (no ID). We got married just a month ago and the address we have is that of relative because we live with him at the moment.

I plan to include only as much as I have (which in reality isn't much). But between when I get ead and my interview I will put together as much as I can.

    Thanks!

Hello there! When is/was your interview? I pray everything goes ok for you guys! Our interview is Thursday eeeek! :)

I got my Appointment letter today too! I am worried though as it is schedualed when I am suppose to be away in Vegas for 4 nights, It's the first time ive planned going away at all since i moved here and last time I spoke to immigration (a few weeks ago) they told me nt to expect this letter for another 3 months. Is it possible to move this interview by a few days? It says all over it that i must appear (which i will even if i have to lose out on my pre paid vacation that has no refund availble) so I'm scared to ask for a reschedual. YIKES

Sorry, I am not sure about rescheduling rules! :( I hope you were able to figure it out?

Congrats on the interview notice, although I could absolutely scream!!! We files more than 2 months before you and have still heard nothing. There is not such thing as equitable in this silly process.

Sorry to hear :( Have you heard anything as of late? Our interview is Thursday. So nervous! Made copies of everything, just need to run and print some pictures this week before we go lol! ahhhhh

  6. It's been a month since my interview and everything was okay the consular said that.. But I didn't have the medical with me he told me to get the medical and send it with my passport and I should get my visa, I did sent everything and it was delivered by February 26th but it's still says AP on CEAC! only the status update changed twice but that's it.. They keeping my passport & birth certificate.. I'm confused am I stuck in a long AP if so why they keeping my original documents. Has anyone been in the same situation before, should it take this long??

Hey you. Long time no talk. I hope you get your Visa soon!!! Wishing you the best :)

  7. The filing fee of ROC is $590. $505 (base petition) + $85 (biometrics)

Good luck on your AOS interview btw!

Obviously no, since her husband already went through the K1 visa process.

    Awesome! MORE money :D

Thank you for the luck! 5 more days yikes! I haven't even printed any pictures yet and we don't have very many AT ALL

  8. Certainly understand that sentiment.... You are preaching to the choir.... The ROC packet that we sent in last November weighed in just shy of six pounds of paper that we sent to USCIS.... and we are still just dangling, waiting for the other shoe to drop, either an interview, or a RFE, or an approval.

    Hang in there.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Oh my word! That is a lot of paperwork! lol Thank you very much and the same to you!!! :D

  9. Ah yes, from the I-797C AOS Interview Notice. We took it quite literally, and brought every shred of paper that we had accumulated thus far in our immigration journey. It was a good thing, the IO wanted to see some of our relationship photos, and my original divorce decree. All of that had been submitted with the original I-129F petition. Thankfully, we brought the originals for comparison by the IO. That was much better than getting a RFE for such an easy request.

    YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Thank you very much. Everything up until now was all organized and nicely put into albums. This interview I am just bringing a stack of papers to throw at them LOL!!! I am literally sick of getting paperwork together for these people to PROVE things. BLAH

  10. Yes, my husband's family doesn't seem to understand that we cannot just fly to the middle east at the drop of a hat. Plane fare is minimum $1500 each person, an easy $600-$700 more per person in the summer. We have already visited Jordan TWICE in the 2 and a half years he has been in the US. His family is quite upset that we are not going this year. We bought a house last June and we need to put money into fencing the yard, updating the kitchen and a thousand other things. Not to mention the fact that I have a son in college, his tuition is upwards of 40k a year and I get no help from his father(his father is my ex husband). My husband's family is very wealthy and they just don't understand that for us to take a vacation to visit will be a MINIMUM of 6-7k and that isn't even bringing the kids. And they don't understand that at the moment, the middle east isn't exactly the safest place for Americans to travel, especially since my kids and I are Catholic. As much as I love my husband's family, they just don't "get" the financial burden it would place upon us. His sister is dong the passive aggressive thing with me, as well. *sigh*

Since they make so much money your husband should tell his parents if they want you to visit so bad then they should pay haha!!!
