  1. This is the Philippines forum, bro. We talk about Filipino culture all the time. If you want to hang out here, that's cool, but don't expect us to be talking about chinese food.

My bad, I didnt notice the regional discussion area. oops8rh.gif

  2. If you've ever been to a Filipino party, or are connected to Filipinos on a social network, you'll know what I'm talking about. They're very photogenic, but a bit overboard, IMO.

Ok, but what prompted you to report this random observation? lol

  3. I'm not sure if it's a cultural thing, but I haven't met a filipino who is camera shy. They love taking pictures and love being in the picture. Americans aren't as photogenic unless we're celebrities or like to pretend we're famous. Granted, this is the digital age and you longer need to purchase film and then pay to have it developed, but good golly, can we put the camera down for a moment, forget about posing and just enjoy the moments for what they are instead of it turning into an audition?

    Ummm... what?

Looking at the I-864W instructions, no that stuff doesn't seem to be needed. But, depending on how you qualify for the I-864W, you may need to send other documentation in its place.

    SAYLIN: smile.png

just want to clarify it...depending on what? in our case husband is naturalized USC, petitioning for my 2 minors ages 3 & 9.

  5. I know, almost everyone I've spoken to at NVC seemed like they would rather be doing something else...complete with sighs of annoyance and tones that imply I am clearly annoying them. And I always try to sound happy and peppy when I speak to them. :-(

I've had really friendly people for the most part, some more friendly than others. In the end its such a non issue, its not even worth posting about, and me replying to. Just focus on the tasks at hand, don't take things personal, just saying from my own experience.

  6. Is anyone else not able to get through to customer support at NVC today? Its 9:45am EST on Friday and I get the message "Thank you for calling the National Visa Center. Assistance regarding an immigrant visa petition is not available at this time. If you wish to speak to a customer service representative please call back at a later time." #######? WHAT later time? Obviously not a snow storm since its not the "in-climate weather" message.

I know MLK day is Monday...are they taking a 4 day weekend?!? If so, thats ridiculous...NVC employees have the greatest gig ever...cushioned federal holidays AND snow days.

Try again, I just called and got the standard greeting and automated attendant.

  7. Yup, wait. that's it, for now.

'initial nvc email' = AOS Fee Bill, and/or instructions on the DS-261

Ok, dancin5hr.gif I got the "This case is now enrolled in the Electronic Processing Program" email, along with my new GZO case number. It also says, "This petition is now eligible for further processing. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will be receiving an instruction package regarding further processing of this petition."

Do I need to wait for snail mail at this point?

  8. yay ! remember - paying stuff is fine without the GZO # - but wait till you have the GZO # to submit stuff. I THINK IT'S OK on the DS-261, I'm not certain, to submit it prior to conversion.

#######, so after sending the OPTIN email, I re-read the start of this thread, and now notice I sent the OPTIN email too early. What if anything should I do at this point? Just wait for the initial NVC email? It's only been at NVC in the system for a couple of days now.

  9. Question about shipping notification from USCIS after NOA2 to actual nvc receiving the file....is there somewhere where I can search the average times for that? I don't see where it could be specified on the Immigration Timelines....if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be awesome smile.png

Mine was sent from the CSC on Dec 3rd, and NVC said they received it on the 13th. I'm still waiting on NVC case and invoice numbers.

  10. How could you say that your case was at dock 12/2 nvc and 12/6 in the nvc building ? i am asking you because my petition got approve and its been more than a month and NVC has no information. Called USCIS and they already sent it. USCIS is not even giving the shipment details.

Try calling the NVC, I called them this morning and gave them my USCIS case number. They at leased confirmed my case has arrived at the NVC building on Dec 13th, but hasn't been entered into the system yet.

  11. My status was updated to RFE today. Any idea what they could be asking for? We already submitted our birth certificates as well as both the translation and the original marriage certificate. So depressingggg.

    Congrats. Happy for you. smile.png

I got an RFE too, don't worry. They just wanted another biographical form for myself, updated passport photos for myself, and a copy of my divorce decree. I had sent them just the case information from the state of MN public info website. I ended up getting a copy from the courthouse, and sent that. I also sent in a bunch of photos of me and my wife together, not sure if it was needed, but I feel it probably helped.
