nanana reacted to Hotter Otter in Approved at London!
So I got approved at the London Embassy this morning! The interview went flawlessy and I'm delighted! I'd like to thank everyone on here who has been a help, especially Nich-Nick on the London side and all my fellow I-130 posters on here who shared empathy and support, you know who you are. Last but not least some of you are aware that my wife is the amazing BOS-LHR and I'd like to thank you for all the support and preparing an amazing petition with no RFE's or checklists. It's been a long 11 months!

Please raise your voice and vote the idea to fast process i-130 on USCIS Idea Community website. May be USCIS will come up with proper explanation at least. You can create your own idea as well to saturate the forum full of i-130 delays agitation.

Hi there, you can register on USCIS website, then you'll be able to enter your receipt number that should keep you informed about with your petition by email. You don't have to register however, just keep going to the website and check your case status "manually" as often as you'd like.
Many folks are approved without being RFE'd and that's my wish for all of us Dec files

I really hope the rest of you guys start getting some approvals in! We were unable to do it electronically because we both live outside of the US. So I have to send a fax/letter.
You don't need any skype credit at all to do this and no need to add them, just chose the "call phone" button, chose the country (USA) and enter the # 1-800-375-5283
Skype allows all 1800 numbers free, and it's already a toll-free number so it's great!

Welcome Tout Bon Net and mrs m
Can I add you to our spreadsheet? or you can do it yourself, you will find the link to it in my signature.
If you want to get ready for next stage, which is NVC, go here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/472916-nvc-filers-january-2014/?hl=%2Bnvc+%2Bjanuary and read first two posts , especially read into What is needed in the AOS package? and What is needed in the IV package?
I guess there you can find something you might start getting to prep.
and here is the link to the newest nvc filers thread http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/488577-nvc-filers-april-2014/ .
Hello ! how are you ? where are you in your process ? as I remember you got approved in January , are you done with NVC ?

nanana reacted to Blueberry Pancake in NEbraska processing time
This is their official processing time.
USCIS official processing times never reflect what month they are actually working on. For this, you need to follow VJ.
Also the processing dates they post are always 2 months old. Like the ones most recently posted are As Of Feb 28.
Also you might want to join this thread

NSC is working on September and October cases right now. Although there are some May and June filers still waiting..
The official processing time for NSC is 5 months (as for Feb 28)

Why did you file a standalone I-130 and didn't do concurrent filing? (I-130+ I-485 and I-131)
I-485 is an adjustment of status form..
This forum here is for CR-1 visas. I doubt anyone here has enough experience or knowledge to help you.. Ask here though: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/130-adjustment-of-status-from-work-student-tourist-visas/
Good luck

Hi Kristi!
So what you want to do is look at this thread, http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/488577-nvc-filers-april-2014/ and read up on what everyone is up to, post I-130 approval. Especially, look at this: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process which really lays it out for you, step by step.
I did also send I-129f after I-130. There were a few people recently whose I129s were also approved, but mine was not... presumably it will be closed as soon as I start doing anything with my I130 at NVC. I don't know if there is any correlation between the people who get approved quickly after transfer and whether or not they filed a 129f, but I can tell you that I did, and I did get approved quite quickly. Maybe it's just because they had 2 copies of all the documents and didn't have to wait in line at the photocopier! So who knows if it helps at all.
There are quite a few steps between approval and interview. After all, you haven't actually applied for the visa yet. So far, all we've done is petitioned for permission to apply for the visa. That's what they are granting at the I130 approval stage. Now you go to NVC to actually apply for the visa.
On the upside, the longest part of the "waiting and not being able to do anything about it" is over, once you're approved.
Read the NVC thread and wiki, and then if you have any other questions, post them in the NVC thread and someone will answer.

nanana reacted to PallasAthena in 5 more months really!!!!!!!
Why are you all saying it took him a short time to get his NOA2? It took him 1 year and 1 day. That's far more than the normal waiting period from NOA1 to NOA2.
This entire process from start to end can take anywhere from 12 - 16 months.
Oh, I see.. he/she switched around the date of the NOA1. It's Sept 3rd, not March 9th, right?

nanana reacted to Blueberry Pancake in September 2013 I-130 Filers
Hah thanks bdrew!
JeffinMX, all you need to do is call Customer Service line and when Tier 1 picks up ask to have your call escalated to a Tier 2.
Once you get through to a Tier 2 (there will be a wait time, but you can pick a call back option) say that you are outside normal processing times (which are 5.8 months - national average and 5 months for NSC) and you would like to file a service request.
Make sure you give them your email address!
And that's it, pretty straightforward
I know some Tier 2s do not want to put in service requests, so just hang up and call again later
My hubby filed a SR on 3/20. We never got a response but were approved instead
I know it worked for our VNBC here, too
Good luck!

I usually respond by explaining the entire process. This sends them into an irreversible confusion that prevents them from asking me again at any point in the future

nanana reacted to HuskerPower66 in What is the difference of i-864 to i-864 EZ?
The petitioner has to meet the following criteria completely to use the EZ form. If you go through all three of them does your petitioner meet the criteria? If not then the petitioner should use the I-864 form.
"All three of the following are true:
You filed a Form I-130 petition for your relative, and there is only one applicant on the Form I-130 petition, and all your qualifying income comes from a salary or pension and shows one or more W-2 Forms that you receive"
