devo6786 got a reaction from Luthien in can i request a second drug test?
Im sorry, but its REALLY REALLY REALLY hard to fail a drug test from second hand smoke. REALLY HARD. Most occasional users (a couple times a month), can STILL pass a drug test a couple days after they partake.
It really doesn't look good for you.
The cut off level would have to be REALLY low for you to fail due to second hand smoke. AND a few weeks would be more than enough time for it to clear your system.
Im not saying you are lying. Im just stating fact. I have been drug tested numerous times, as well as worked at a UA clinic.

OP - you still haven't responded to me. Someone who WAS in your EXACT situation. Seems like you just wanted to complain. Its your fault. DOMA was overturned and you guys waited. Your bad.
EDIT: Just wanted to add: my wife is ALSO a citizen of italy. Has nothing to do with being from italy. We are now working on my paperwork overseas and it will take EVEN LONGER than it did in the US. Should I go on to blame italy? About how I should be able to move freely across countries?

Okay, so, my wife (we are also gay) went to law school here in the US (I am the USC). We didn't know what would happen after her OPT expired. DOMA got overturned. Why didn't you file your paperwork months ago? My wife already has her green card at this point.
As for your job? Tell them the truth. Stop hating on, what is soon to be, your government. We NEVER felt like its a machine who doesn't give a s***. Laws are laws. And, at this point, GLBT couples and hetero couples have to go through the same process. We were married in 2004. So yes, I get its a LONG gap. It sucks, but it is what it is.
Did the laws suck? Yup. But nothing we could have done.
In the meantime? Have your husband get a second job. Sell stuff online. Open up a small business. We did whatever we could to make ends meet. You will get there, but Im telling you now, your negative attitude is not helping. Seriously.

There is something your lawyer should have sent with the package (Im sorry, I can't remember what my wife called it, she is a lawyer and did all of the paperwork), but it was basically asking for her EAD and authorization to travel be expedited. Again, this is something your lawyer should have told you about and sent in with the package. Not sure if you can send it in after the fact.
We are also a gay couple, just for reference. We filed out paperwork at the end of July 2013 and just got her green card a little over a week ago. So it took about 3 months from beginning to end (sent in the package, biometrics, then my wife had to get her medical exam as we didn't know she needed too and we got an RFE, then she got her EAD card shortly after (as well as authorization to travel), a month later we had our interview and got the green card approved same day). She had already had a SS#, so once we got the EAD card we went to the DMV 3 days later and got her ID in the mail within 5 business days.

STOP. Yes you are over worrying. If ever I saw a more well put together package of evidence of a bonafide relationship is yours. You are legally married which means any expired Visa or overstay is forgiven.
You make more than enough (its $19334) you need to make at the least for 2. So you are good.
Listen to your wife. Chillax it is well. And congratulations.
