    Hey guys!
Today is one of the best days of my life! I'm SOOO happy and excited!! I had my K-1 visa interview today (11/25/2014) at the US Embassy in Budapest, Hungary. I arrived 10 minutes early and spent no more than an hour inside altogether. First, a Hungarian lady took my fingerprints and my documents, and I was told to wait a little. After waiting like 10 minutes I was invited to talk with the CO who was a professional looking, nice lady. She asked me some questions about me, my fiancé and our relationship. She didn't ask for any proof of ongoing relationship (not even photos). Then: "Congratulations Miss *my name*, your visa is approved, welcome to the United States." Then the Hungarian lady told me that I'll receive my visa and my passport in 2-4 business days. I was walking on air all the way back home!
The questions I was asked are the following:
    1. When and how did you meet your fiancé?
    2. When and how did you meet your fiancé in person?
    3. How many times did you meet him in person?
    4. Did you meet any of his family members in person?
    5. What are you planning to do in the U.S.?
    6. What are your marriage plans?
I honestly can't believe that this was the interview that I was so nervous about!! It was so easy and short. After reading a lot of horror stories here on Visajourney; I started to stress about it non-stop. At least it made me to pay attention to every little detail when it came to documents. Reading Visajourney interview stories can be deceiving though. Obviously having a visa interview at the US Embassy of a European VWP country (like Hungary) is a whole different story than having an interview in a third world/high fraud country. I think that if your case doesn't have red flags and you're from a low fraud country (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and European VWP countries) then you will likely have it this easy. My advice is to be prepared for everything, have a lot of proof and evidence, keep having faith and hope for the best! It's better to be safe than sorry!
Let's get back to my interview experience.
Here is what I bought to the interview. I organized the documents & stuff in 4 different colored folders, I'm big time fan of bright colors!
    Pink folder (personal documents)
    1. passport
    2. DS-160 confirmation page
    3. interview appointment letter
    4. visa photos
    5. birth certificate
    6. police certificate
    7. medical papers
    8. photocopy of NOA2
Green folder (form I-134 & proofs) - my fiancé is my sponsor
    9. form I-134 (Affidavit of Support)
    10. IRS Tax Return Transcript (2013)
    11. IRS Wage & Income Transcript (2013)
    12. last 12 paychecks
    13. employment letter
Yellow folder (proof of ongoing relationship)
    14. Facebook wall screenshots
    15. Facebook message screenshots
    16. Skype call history (I used SkypeLogView)
    17. a postcard I sent to my fiancé
    18. updated letter of intents
Blue folder (proof of having met - we already submitted these in I-129F)
    19. electronic plane ticket
    20. boarding passes
    21. ESTA confirmation
    22. passport stamp (ESTA)
    23. receipts
So that was it. Now it's time for me to celebrate and to start my new life in the United States with the man of my dreams!
Without this site I wouldn't be where I am now. I'm very grateful for all the great, detailed infos and all the helpful Visajourney members.
    Thank you, Visajourney!
    Good luck to you all!

You were lucky for not getting an RFE! All the USCIS guides clearly state the the signatures on the documents must be originals and not photocopied or scanned or anything.

I believe that there are some couples who get away with not sending originals but then there are some who don't. An RFE can delay the process with months even. This whole immigration journey is way too long and I don't like the fact that my future is in someone else's hands so I rather just follow the rules than risk an RFE. If that makes me paranoid then so be it.

I am so sorry to hear that. I'm wondering why in the meantime 90% of the Filipino filers get a very quick approval by being expedited at both service center, even a year after that typhoon hit the Philippines.

I want to be with my fiancé a lot more than being right and "argue" with USCIS. That "argument" would be pretty one sided anyway. So yes, I follow the rules to the letter, if that makes me a "good dog" according to you than so be it. I didn't want to risk an RFE and have my case delayed. On this site we just try to help each other, we are not professionals but we do our bests. I believe we all have the same goal: being with our loved ones as soon as possible.

It's okay, I totally understand it. I miss my fiancé so much as well. And I also get very frustrated when I think of people cheating the system, believe me. But you know what, I am SO happy that this site exists, we are all in the same boat and it feels like we were one big family.
I wish you and your fiancée all the best, I hope you guys will be together real soon.

Correct. It is a requirement that you two must meet at least once in person before filing for the K1. Read the guides on this website and feel free to ask anything, we are all in the same boat!
    Good luck!

Dona reacted to YouAndMeForever in Does pregnancy make the K1 process any easier or faster?
Being pregnant doesn't make a difference, you will be treated like everyone else.
No matter where the baby is born, s/he will be automatically a U.S. citizen because you're the father.
Here is a useful link about "Birth of U.S. citizens abroad" that you might wanna check out:

I agree with Hypnos, they were just doing their jobs in a high fraud consulate.
The OP's case had red flags in addition:
    1. huge cultural differences
    2. huge age difference (30 years)
    3. USC sending money to beneficiary on a regular basis
    4. having met through a mutual friend
    5. beneficiary not wanting to speak English at first
    6. beneficiary not knowing the person's full name she is gonna stay with until they get married
I'm glad you guys were approved. Congrats and wishing you all the best!

Dona reacted to YouAndMeForever in When does the approved petition expire?
NOA2 is valid for 4 months, starting when the USCIS approves the petition. Most embassies automatically extend the expiration date, but you can contact your consulate right before NOA2 expires just to be sure that your expiration date is extended.

I see we have the exact same timeline and we're both at CSC, how cool! I think you'll get your NOA2 real soon!
I gotta admit it was a lil frustrating when I saw that almost everybody at CSC who filed around my time got approved in less than a month (some even in like 7 days) and for me it took 2 months. But now I'm all okay with it, 2 months is fantastic too!!
I wish you the best of luck on your journey!

Dona reacted to YouAndMeForever in What to tell to the CBP officer?
    Hey everyone!
I'm new to this site but not new since I've been scrolling through the topics for months to read and gather information about the k1 visa and the whole immigration process through marriage itself.
My boyfriend is a US citizen, we are planning to file I-129F soon. We met online and haven't met in person before. I'll be in the US visiting him and staying at his place for 9 days, I'll go later on this week. I'm 23 year old and I'm still a student in Hungary. I'm coming with the Visa Waiver Program and I've never been to the US before.
I'm a little nervous about the POE (which will be in Detroit btw).
Is it a red flag that we never met in person before, yet I'm staying at his place?
What should I say if they ask me whether he is a "friend" or "boyfriend"?
    Any advices are much appreciated

I wasn't asking about the K1 visa. I know that in order to file the K1 visa we have to meet at least 1 time in person.
Yes this will be the first time we met and then we will file for the I-129F. Ok now I'm a little less worried

So the best would be to say that I came to see the country and I'm staying with a good friend of mine (if they ask me I'll say we met online), right?

Dona reacted to YouAndMeForever in help with proof
    Proofs of having met
Primary evidence: Exit/entry visa/passport stamps, airline ticket boarding passes, hotel receipts, ATM withdrawals in the subject country/city, apartment leases in both names, utility bills, etc. (for those that have lived together) are irrefutable as primary evidence. Airline booking confirmations, Airline Frequent Flyer statements, xx/xxxx Bank Statements (highlighted the purchases/ATM withdrawals made in during this period), restaurant receipts or purchases that match credit card transaction on the end of the month statement, especially with the card holders carbon copy signature.
Secondary evidence: The USCIS defines secondary evidence as any documentation that can be used to supplement primary evidence but in itself cannot stand alone to prove ones assertions. Photos, bus tickets, engagement ring receipts, affidavits from family/friends may be used to supplement weak primary evidence if the primary evidence can not stand alone on its own merits. Anything that cannot be used to prove your point with a very high degree of certainty.
Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey!
