  1. Doesnt the ambassy arange for the vog? I didn't had to do anything for it. If I remember it right. All documents have to be in English or have been certified translations so i would make sure you have to do it yourself or the ambassy does it for you.

    I know this is old-ish, but no, the consulate in Amsterdam will not get your VOG for you anymore. You have to order it yourself.

  2. You're not waiting for your AOS if you just filed your I130. You're waiting for your approval of the I130. After that, your case will be sent to the National Visa Center. Since your wife is living with you in Australia, you will need to be able to prove her proof of intention to re-establish her domicile in the US. You will need a co-sponsor in the US who meets the 125% poverty guidelines, as her income in Australia can't be used unless she will continue that income after she comes back to the US.

  3. I showed the kids that Daddy's Medical is a week from tomorrow, and that if all goes well, he should be here by sometime the week of the 24th, next month, and they started cheering and dancing around like lunatics. Sure as hell beats hysterical crying. :P Just treading water here, waiting for June 17th to get here. (Our request for an earlier interview date was denied.) I hope everyone else is doing alright.

  4. I'd honestly have rather had my husband here while we were waiting for everything to go through with the USCIS. But we really didn't have a choice, and had to go through the IR1 way. :) But when I moved to the Netherlands, I waited (and fought) with Dutch immigration for over 2 years to get my residency permit. It wasn't nearly as bad as being separated from my husband and going through this for the past year (+). At least we were still physically together to deal with the insanity.

  5. Keep in mind, they don't just send YOUR case. It's a bunch of cases all heading to the same place ;)

    So, if my case was any indication, it's probably like 3 or 4 cases. :P (For any other Dutch people who got their interview dates recently, the waybill number is 8849907430)

    I just checked the waybill again, and it wasn't delivered today because they were closed for Liberation Day. They'll try to deliver it tomorrow. :)

  6. My second checklist response got to NVC today (sent in another marriage certificate [certified] and proof of employment, even though I work abroad they want that now). I called to request a supervisor review on the case (again) because they say my marriage cert wasn't certified when it IS. But the lady, Joy I think, told me I couldn't request one if mail is pending. I need to wait for them to review that and then if they checklist me for a third time I can then ask for a supervisor review.

    *sigh*

    :clock::clock::clock::clock:

    ####### is up with that? Didn't the USCIS tell you that your marriage certificate wasn't certified as well?

    I would call in the evening to try to get someone who isn't Joy. She's lovely if you want to hear that you should wait 30 days for whatever it is that you want. But she isn't the kind of operator who will actually attempt to help you fix something. For that, you want someone like Gus, Waldo, Jim, or the always wonderful Todd. Regardless, I'd call a few times and see if you get the same answer, because I've gotten opposite answers from different operators, and then I'd just keep calling a few times and see what the majority opinion was. If you get the right operator though, you may get a supervisor review faster. (And I'd mention that the USCIS claimed the same thing about your marriage certificate, until you sent it back and showed that it was certified.)

  7. Just found this on the Consulate website: http://amsterdam.usconsulate.gov/events_2014/changes-to-visa-process-coming2.html

    The U.S. Consulate General in Amsterdam will be transitioning to a new and improved visa appointment system on June 19, 2014. Please note the visa application fee will not increase with the coming changes.

    Specific details on this new and more convenient way for applicants to pay and schedule a visa submission appointment will be announced closer to the launch of the new services. The implementation of this new system is part of our efforts to continually improve our services for our visa applicants.

  8. May I ask a silly question? :rolleyes:

    Does NVC always schedule interviews 30 days or more after CC? I've seen everyone getting June interviews and I checked Dwheels' spreadsheet, and it seems that way. I thought that since Buenos Aires embassy has very little inmigrants my interview date would be right away after CC. How wrong am I?

    Yeah, I got case complete April 10th and thought I was going to get an Early June interview because Amsterdam really is not that busy of a Consulate for immigrant visas. I'm *still* fuming that it's June 17. As soon as my file gets to Amsterdam I'm going to try to reschedule it.
