  1. In my view its not a prediction per se since it was indicated by the DOS in their VB and seems to be doing consistently in their VB. They have the demand data and all the numbers to crunch. If we had the demand data minus some other variability we could make the "prediction" ourselves. But.. :-)

DOS already stated that come this June/July VB can retrogress for all countries for F2A.

Just my theory: I believe August/Sep of every year is when things move or can get clearer and that is when we are close to the new quota that will be released in Oct. I still can't get my head to figure out on how the hell did DOS give 10000 visas from FB category to EB category when every freaking FB category is retrogressed. That does not make any sense and this itself says there is absolutely no transparency or accountability on the allocation of numbers.

W.r.t the red above, i can't lay my hands on the DOS statement for the retrogression. However it is a possibility and no one knows how far back it could go.

  2. Hi All,

Judging by the past predictions made over the fiscal years by the visa bulletin itself, i have found out the predictions are actually reliable and viable for at least the 3 following months after that particular prediction. So for instance, the March visa bulletin predicted that "no FORWARD movement is expected" for F2A category, that means in April, May and June the PD will not move forward (but MAY go BACKWARD) for F2A category. By June another Prediction will likely come out which would hold for July,August and September.

However, I like to also think that if there is a more likely retrogression between April and June, the visa bulletin would have stated it instead of the "no forward movement" hypothesis. This again is based on the past bulletin predictions.

Disclaimer: This is just a deduction I made by juxtaposing past bulletins and may not be accurate. smile.png Please feel free to pick the loopholes in it.

  3. I want to know that when will the retrogression happen this year ?

I know no one know it for sure but can u just predict base on your experience?

My case complete but waiting for interview !

April 2014 bulletin is out and you are still current. I think you will be getting MAY interview date and I am sure you will still be current then. So just relax and enjoy the wait. Cheers

  4. We 3 are in the same boat...I do not expect any activity on my case for 30 days..If it gets approved before that, it is a bonus. This process has been the worst nightmare of our marriage lives so far.

Now I really wish that I filed in the first week of September with 09/03 as my PD. That would made my file to go to CSC..oh well who knew the future?

Hmmn i think the best thing you should wish for right now is for your PD to be Current and stay Current until you finish jumping the hurdles at NVCsmile.png

  5. wow yours was fast. i on the other hand is CC last feb12 via phonecall. and haven't received any email yet regarding the completion of case. waiting for it patiently though. hopefully next month.

    Goodluck to us.

Have you checked your spam mails? I think NVC generally sends the email exactly a week from the day your case was completed. I believe they already sent you the email and it probably got into your spam mails.

  6. Congrats on CC, sorry i don't know the answer to your question.

    Thank you shsha

It stays at "at NVC" till your get your IL and case is transferred to consulate. So do not expect to see changes any time soon.

Thanks sam, the puzzling thing is that the NVC lady that answered the call said the case has already been transffered to the local consulate in Nigeria. I was thinking an IL comes before NVC will transfer to the local consulate. I am confused! Please throw more light if you know

Congrats on cc .. no it wont change until it is sent to the embassy..it will change into " in transit" goodluck !!

Thanks Dado reem, the puzzling thing is that the NVC lady that answered the call said the case has already been transffered to the local consulate in Nigeria. I was thinking an IL comes before NVC will transfer to the local consulate. I am confused! Please throw more light if you know

  7. Aaron2020 is correct, so you must complete your interview before retrogression.

can I also add that it is possible to get to the interview stage even though the PD is no longer current....just because the machinery may be slow in adjusting to a retrogression.....in which case, even though you have the interview, it will be noted that there is no visa available to issue to you. your file will be put on hold pending visa availability.

so make sure you don't add any unnecessary delays to the process so you can get to your interview as soon as possible.

My PD is 09 SEP 2013, ouch! just a day after cut-off. Okay here is the thing, even though my PD is not current, NVC still processed my case and collected all supporting documents. Shouldn't they have stopped processing it because of non-current PD? Or do you think I will make it to interview even though I am not current and then have to wait for actual visa to be available?

  8. Shadowflex,

Check the case complete thread. Another Member DSCR with a PD of Sep 11th i think got CC. Not sure if he/she got their I/L. When did you send your AOS and IV docs?

    Goodluck!

Just looked at your timeline. So your docs were received on 8th of Jan. You should hear from NVC by Feb 8th. they take about 20 business days if you are lucky or 30 business days to look at your docs.

Hi vkrishn, glad to read from you again. I guess by now you have flown out to be with your spose for the upcoming interview.

Yea I have a feeling I will get CC but maybe the Interview Letter is where the delay will come. Anyways fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

Good luck to you and your spouse.

    Cheers

  9. I am actually waiting on mine to be completed. I would have been if i didnt get an AOS checklist which entered into their system on Jan 15, 2014. Any time now I should get case completed.

Thanks Bloomfield, nice to hear you have similar experience. i think nvc would process your case if you PD is before 15th of SEP 2013 for some unknown reasons. I can remember reading somewhere that Priority Dates can only be 8th, 15th, 22nd and 31st of the month. So perhaps NVC would treat 8th of SEP as 8th-14th of SEP or so. Well we might be lucky, our case may even get past CCidea9dv.gif . Fingers really crossed.

Sorry about your RFE, i got one too but its not real because i already submitted what they requested for.

    Goodluck to us and everyone.

  10. It could very well be a false checklist given the timeframe that you sent it to. When did you send your AOS. Generally you get a "false" checklist when one of your documents is reviewed because AOS and IV are independent of each other. Call and find out. It could very well be that your AOS was reviewed and accepted.

    Good Luck

I agree with you. I got a checklist for IV package 2 days after the Civil Documents arrived at NVC. My guess is they already checked the AOS package which had arrived much earlier and did not see the IV package so created the checklist, unknown to them that the IV package had arrived and somewhere in their mail room. I'd just call them to be sure and keep my fingers crossed and wait for case completesmile.png

  11. yes, I was unlucky!sad.png I'm sorry, but what you mean with "priority date become corrent"? I read some post who speak about this, but I can't understand..can you help me to understand priority date? example, my PD is 13 february 2012. Thank you!

    Hi Chantal&Marjo,

Please take a look at these links below perhaps it will help explain about Priority Dates.

    http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-processes-and-procedures/visa-availability-priority-dates

Let me know if you need more explanation.

    Cheers
