  1. 1.Anybody know how long will it take after submitting 221(g) requested documents and passport to VFS??

2.When submitting documents at VFS the staff said "you will receive your passport within 4 days". Anybody have recent experience with VFS?

    Interview conclusion:

In interview CO said everything is good they need that one document for clear me. And he said "you no need to come for interview again just that required document and passport submit to dropbox".

I have heard once consulate gets your docs from VFS, it takes roughly a week for them to process. So hopefully you will see your status change online to Issued by the end of next week. Good luck!

  2. So I am completely freaking out VJ'ers and I am requesting for someone to please respond to this post. I attended my fiance's interview in Delhi on Sept 19 and the visa was approved immediately. I have been checking online since for a status update... the CEAC website now says that the case is under ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING. I then called the Visa line and the man on the phone asked me if my fiance received any paperwork requesting to submit additional documents and i said no. He then said it is under administrative processing (same thing as the website). I am really concerned because they say it can take up to 60 days under AP. Has anyone else experienced this? It's been over 2 weeks since the interview and now all of a sudden it's under AP. Please advise guys - I am losing my mind here :crying::crying::crying:

Hi I messaged you on other thread too.

Can you let me know how your online status changed since sep 19?

Hi - I am in a similar situation. Wife attended interview on oct 1 and since then three have been no updates. It says ready. Did you get the passport back with visa in it?

  4. Congratulations! Happy to see you near the end of the journey!

Thank you!! And very good luck to you in advance for your interview :). Our ceac status still says "Ready" although the date changed from Oct 1 to OCt 7. Strange how some people who had interview on the 1st and this morning already had theirs issued right away and ours say "Ready". I am just hoping it will be issued before the end of the week :). Keeping my fingers crossed.

my husband's visa has been approved. yay!

and thank you guys. esp to dwheels76 :luv::luv:

    :goofy:

    Congrats!!! :)

  5. Wifey's visa has been approved! Interview was barely couple of minutes. Was asked basic questions and didn't ask for any further documentations during or after the interview. :):dancing: . She was given immigrant fee form (to pay $165) before departure at the end and was told the passport would be shipped in about a week.

Her online status still shows "Ready" but was updated this morning. Some people who had the interview the same day, got either Admin Processing or Issued as the status the same day. Ours still says ready, Is this common? A bit worried.

dwheels76 - any input would be very helpful & appreciated!!
  6. This has been debated on VJ many times, very thoroughly. What it comes down to is intent. If you enter the US saying you're a tourist and will return home, but actually intend to settle in the US and adjust status, that's visa fraud. If you entered the US legitimately as a tourist and at some point afterward decide you don't want to go home, you can file for adjustment of status.

Almost fell off the chair reading this :D

If that is true then wouldn't everyone plan to enter as "a tourist" and then get married here after few months & apply for adjustment of status?

  7. First of all, congratulations!

I hope she said Wisconsin because it is the home of the greatest football team that has ever played the game: The mighty Green Bay Packers. That and string cheese, yo.

You often hear about immigration officers asking people why they didn't just go in on a tourist visa and adjust status. I hope they never ask me that because I would probably lose my ######.

Wait so are you saying that coming to US on tourist visa after marriage & then applying for adjustment of status is legal?

  8. Ohh.. ok.. I was wondering if only mine is not done.We have had a pretty bad luck with any quick developments. You see we sent in our applications of i130 way back in April 2013. Almost 6 months before even you had. And the USCIS took forever, and now at NVC since Jan 2014. That is why its pretty frustrating to know it has taken us 6 months more that usual :(

I am sorry to hear you have been waiting for so long but it is almost over now! You will be done in very soon. Call tonight or tomorrow to check if they scheduled your interview. I will do the same and let you know if they scheduled mine. Good luck!! :)
