  1. When my fiancé went in to pick up his visa, he simply went to the Embassy and they gave him back his passport with the visa in it along with a sealed packet that he is not to open. When he gets to the US, the customs officer will open the packet and look over whatever documents are in there.

Also, the visa stated that it was issued on October 28th... He didn't receive it until November 26th. It expires on April 22nd. So they held onto it a whole month before issuing it to him. SMH.

At least he now has it in his hand and was able to return to work to finish out his rotation. We will finally be together on February 21st of 2014!

Congrats on you're fiancé receiving the visa. It must be a relief to be finally done. And you know the embassy is known for handing visas months after they have been issued. I don't know if they do it on purpose or they're just disorganized. Overall it's just frustrating and extremely annoying.

  2. At least 5 to 6 months. You never know how this embassy works. You can even expect to get app probably in 2 months. But the embassy in yemen is never accurate.

Worse embassy ever. They are not organized and they do not care about others so idk. Just keep praying to Allah

5 to 6 months I still have a long way to go :-/ I kinda have an idea what to expect from the US embassy of Sana'a. But inshallah it gets better. But it looks like u r almost done. Congrats!!!

  3. Albania I have seen 2 to 4 months after Case Complete. It is dependent on the Embassy always. See its like how the K1's get to go to the embassy calendar and see available dates and signup for the date. Well for us the embassy sends the dates available to NVC with how many slots they have and the times. Its NVC who then schedules the actual cases to the date and time according to case complete and also USCIS receipt date comes into play also.

I think July or August I had about 4 for Albania it was quite the wait I believe 4 months. Don't know why or whats up with the embassy. I tell people who's embassy is open or close or unstable to contact embassy to see whats up.

I know in July there was that terrible flooding in India and all the July folk got moved and it was quite a delay things happen all over at the drop of a hat.

What about for Yemen? Do you have any idea how long? I am assuming it is between 5-7 months am

I correct? I hope it's sooner. Do you think I can contact the US Embassy over there and ask them how much is the waiting time?

  4. congratulations...it took your case almost tow months to be completed ?or you received a checklist ? because as i understand the approximate time for this is 30 business days

Thanks! Actually it took me 4 months because I had two checklists. They say 30 bd but most of the time they take less than 20 bd. I think these days they're slower at reviewing the checklists response. So good luck!
  5. Yea that was my husbands appointment on Nov.20 so we went together and when the council woman called us she spoke to me cuz i speak fluent English and she jus asked when did we get married, how long ive been here, when im planning on leaving, y dont i have any kids yet and then she asked who the sponsor was, then thats when a big boulder was dropped on us that literally killed us.... She said that everything was perfect and up to date and that she wouldve given us a visa pick up slip but....our sponsor had sponsored way too many ppl for his income. She said there were already 7! Me nd my husband were sooooo bummed and durious cuz he had lied (he is a friend of my dad) out she said find a new AOS and send it to the Sanaa Embassy thru DHL and we will review it and give you a call. So its been almost four days now and we fund someone from the family who has never been a sponsor for anyone and all his requirments check out except im scared that they will say no becuz he is in New York and we live in California....so wat do u guys think?

I am so sorry to hear that. Inshallah it won't be a problem, and they get back to you soon.

And OMG I can't believe that they pay attention to how many people a person has sponsored in the past. That's just too crazy. Wow that's truly sad how hard their being on us these days.

  6. I received on 23rd October.. What about you ?

I received the checklist email on the 24th of October and I responded to it the same day. But NVC didn't put it into their system until on the 1st of November. So from that day, my document has been under review.

Any case Completers here yet. Man this is a slow month. Come on over to the Case complete interview thread.

    Yes it is :-/
  7. has anyone tried calling the embassy. do u think if i call it will do some help

I have a cousin who was in a similar situation. His two daughters received their visas but they wouldn't give it to his wife. So I heard he kept emailing them and explaining his situation. The embassy contacted his wife two weeks before he was traveling to the US for her to come and pick up her visa. So keep emailing them every day if you must, and try to call them. Inshallah they'll call your husband soon. It really is unfair for them to put your husband in AP for that long.

  8. Do we go online and pay it now or when he enters the USA

The I-130 is different then the affidavit

I know that, but what I meant is that when I ( the petitioner) went for my interview here in the US I had to fill out that same affidavit paternity/maternity. And I signed it in front of the officer and handed it to him at the end of the interview. So you have to fill it out once more for the interview in Sanaa?

  9. I wanted to update you all on what has happened with our case.

I am submitted the following as proof of US domicile per Form I-864 Instructions:

    1. Letter from my bank showing an active US bank account

    2. Statements from E*Trade Securities LLC showing US stocks owned

    3. Statement from Capital One showing my US mailing address

    4. Statements from PayPal showing transfers made from PLN to USD (x3)

    5. A copy of my US voter registration card

    6. A copy of my Karta Pobytu decision showing my status as a temporary resident in Poland

    7. A letter from mom confirming that my husband I will live at her home upon our arrival in the US

    8. A letter from a company stating their intent to employ me upon my return to the US

    ...and we were still denied.

    Any other ideas?

Anyone from Poland made it through this process?

A utility bill is a good proof of U.S. domicile.
