  1. Hi guys,

Im a permanent resident and would like to have a vacation with my husband in Europe (France, italy, belgium etc). Where I live there are no embassies to apply for a visa and I dont have the time to go to NYC to apply for a schengen visa. Do you know if its possible to send my passport and document by mail ? if so, which embassy would accept that. I do not mind anywhere in Europe close to France.

    Thank you

  2. lol what a story. I have known my husband for 4 years and still no babies yet and you guys going on 2 just after 1 meeting? something is wrong from start to end here. Move on with your life. She is a professional scammer. she will probably come to the USA and stay illegal then adjust status after marriage to an old rich US citizen. IT HAPPENS A LOT.

If you want to revenge then call USCIS right now, call the Embassy and even the POE . If you do that, it will probably hunt her forever if she ever comes here.

  3. Congrats for everyone who got their GC and good luck for those still waiting. Dont worry! everyone will get theirs. Now Im travelling to meet my family after 9 months being in the states and my husband will meet them for the first time too. My plan when I come back is to have my road test and apply for jobs. My dear husband is helping me with my resume. Im so excited for my new journey in the states.

  4. Unfortunately I wasn't as successful as you, I had to wait 20 hours for my approval!

Everything went well, interview lasted 15 minutes, didn't keep any of our stuff.

My only question is this, why is the I-130 status still at initial review even though the I-485 is at card/document production?

The opposite is happening with me lol. I have my I-130 approved and I-485 still in decision even though I technically have the green card stamped on my passport. Im not sure if they ordered it or not! or maybe the system online is just not updated. Congrats to you. The big part of it is done and one or two weeks wait for the actual GC is not a big deal as long as you got approved there even verbally. Its still counts as approval.

  5. I had a very pleasant AOS interview today. I cant believe how the process took less than 3 months. The interview was short and sweet. I also requested a stamp on my passport and got it right away.

Advice for everyone : BE YOURSELF, prepare your documents in advance, and dont a prepare a speech. The officer we had seemed like she made her decision before the interview and we talked she only made sure what we wrrote on the application was correct ( name, address, birth date etc)

she asked : where did you meet? when did he propose? how was the wedding? After that she said we are approvable. at that time my husband asked if we can have a stamp and the officer said we will need to wait 20 minutes. OF COURSE WE CAN WAIT HAHA.

When I sent in my application I sent all evidence with it and the officer was kind of impressed and satisfied. She didnt bother taking anything from what we brought. She briefly looked at our picture ( 30 pictures) and that was about it.

I hope my experience will help some of you get an idea of how is the interview.

  6. Hi Friends,

Today I had my interview at Buffalo office and it was GREAT. I got approved on the spot, I requested a stamp and I got it in 20 minutes. I went even further by going to Niagra Falls ( Canadian side) to celebrate haha. Here is what happened from start to end.

Our interview was at 1:45pm. we arrived to the security door at 1:45pm ( baaaad). I thought that thats it, they will probably deny me because Im late haha. I went to the second floor, showed the lady our interview notice and thank goodness she didnt say anything about being kinda late ( 2 or 3 minutes late).[ Dont ask me why Im late !! I decided this morning to go and print more pictures ( paranoid), it took forever and we almost arrived late.My husband had to drive 80m/h to arrive on time]]]] BAD BAD IDEA. I was so stressed out and I had pain in my stomache. Please make sure you guys go beforehand and give yourselves time to breathe. Anyway moving on....

5 minutes later, a lady called my last name and then she said " both of you", meaning me and my husband will have one interview together. We went in and she made us swear. Then she had our I-485 application in front of her and she literally went through all of it to make sure everything written is correct. That took about 4 minutes. After that she asked how we met and where we had our wedding. My husband had the honor of replying because I was dead scared. Then she said " you sent in a lot of evidence with the application, did you bring anything additional". We had some additional stuff that she briefly looked at. Then she looked at the pictures and said " I have seen some of these with the application" " it looks like it was a good day". She said we seem approvable and if she had anything to add she would send us a letter, if not then our case will be approved this afternoon. At that time, I kind of relieved but not too much because her decision was not clear. I was preparing myself to leave and my husband popped in the question " we want to go to Canada and we heard that we can get a stamp" . The lady said " Yes, that would not be a problem but you will have to wait for 15, 20 minutes". We left our passports with her and went to the waiting room. At that time, I knew I was approved. 10 minutes later, the officer came out with our passports and she showed me the stamp and she said " Have fun in Canada and show this at the border so you can be allowed to the US". By 2:30 PM, I was outside the USCIS building with my green card in hand. 2 minutes later I recieved emails that card is ordered. Me and my husband were so happy so we went to canada straight away haha. We went to Niagara Falls and the officers at the border said " oh you got it today" and I was let in and out of canada with no problems at all.

No personal questions were asked and absolutely no judgment. The officer who was a female in her mid 30 was really nice and professional. She didnt take my EAD even though I offered. She didnt check any originals and asking for a stamp was no problem at all.

That was one hectic day full of surprises. I would like to thank you all and wish you good luck with your journey.

  7. I have my interview on Monday. can anyone tell me what am I missing.

    I have :

    - Around 30 photo from the wedding, honeymoon and different occasions

    - life insurance showing us beneficiaries of one another

    - two joint bank accounts and letters from the bank stating we are both owners of the account and bank statements in both our names

    - Lease

    - Utility bills

    - letter from credit card company stating that Im an authorized user.

    - flight tickets and hotel reservations of our honeymoon

    - joint car title and car insurance

    - wedding receipts

by the way, I sent all of this as initial evidence already except the life insurance. is there anything missing?

  8. Just GOT my EAD card. Tomorrow i will attempt to go to SS and next week will schedule a road test. Im glad things are moving pretty fast.

Im only worried that my signature on EAD is different from my signature on papers ( dont ask me why, i dont even know why lol). I just never signed any documents before and I dont have any conform signature so everytime Im asked to sign something, I just write whatever comes to mind. I hope USCIS wont make a big deal out of it ( I only worried one I saw someone on VJ asked to sign a blank paper on interview date to see if it matches his signature on the application).

Ok, I guess I need to stop my paranoia right now.

    Congrats everyone.
