BuvRahl reacted to PBJ in Thumbs up for Norwegian Air!
    Hi all
Just to let you know I flew London Gatwick to Los Angeles last week via Norwegian, which is a budget carrier running a couple of new long haul routes including the one I took.
I had a one way economy class ticket for less than £600.
I opted against shipping my belongings and instead packed out three large suitcases and figured I would just suffer the excess costs. Surprisingly, the airline gives you two pieces at 20kg max complimentary, and I booked the third in advance with the airline for a total of three pieces and 60kg in total. Still, I knew I would top this and noted their price of 11EU per additional kilo.
On checking in I came to learn my bags were super heavy, each peaking 30kg (yeah yeah, I know I should've weighed them before, but hey I didn't). UK airports will not receive bags over 32kg and I was asked to break down this weight into a fourth bag.
I did this and was then horrified to learn I had run up an excess baggage fee of over £300. But guess what? The check-in desks were advertising upgrade seats for £250 with extra baggage allowance. So obviously I didn't hesitate in upgrading, I flew first class with what appeared to be unlimited baggage allowance, and landed in LA happy, rested, and feeling like a boss.
Good advice for anyone POE'ing with all their stuff: FLY NORWEGIAN!

    Dear Palu,
Please allow me to say a few words.
First of all, you shouldn’t be embarrassed. Your wife was the one who brought disgrace on you and hurt your well-being.
I’m not going to reiterate what our fellow VJ members said. Without a doubt, your wife or soon to be ex-wife betrayed you and committed a crime. Therefore, she must be brought to justice. Full stop.
What a nightmare! I’m sorry. I truly hope you get a lawyer who will help you win this battle.
I don’t know how the legal system works in the US but in some countries in Europe; if someone committed a fraud like this, the permanent residence status or citizenship will automatically be revoked—the person will be deported and get a lifetime ban. And also, the person who messed up always, I mean always loses the court battle and must pay for all the costs. For instance, in this case, your wife will lose and must pay the lawyers of both parties. Seriously!
And she has the nerve to think that you would continue paying for her livelihood in the Philippines? That's absurd! You already spent tons of money even before your marriage, as you said. For Heaven's sake, you shouldn’t have to spend more—not even a cent.
You are a person with high morals and dignity, you will find the true love that you deserve.
As a Filipina/European - I am angry and embarrassed beyond words for what your wife did.
My prayers and all the best to you,
    S. & B.

I don't have any knowledge of expediting visa's, but just wanted to send a note of support. My wife, and son, are from Ukraine, and we had similar feelings before they were finally able to get here in February. We will be thinking about you guys, and praying for you all, and that your family is brought together soon.
Having seen Ukraine's healthcare system first hand, if your daughter isn't being seen in a private clinic, I would strongly recommend that. I hope she is doing well.

Congrats! ALL names for any flights should be in ENGLISH and written same as in their travel documents (passports). Good luck!

"Traveler names must match government-issued photo ID exactly." - by this they mean names as shown in their travel documents for example: Olga Smirnova, Maksim Sokolov etc. Our travel documents have our names written with latin letters (english letters) and are transliterated (and they are never considered as English names, it means they are spelled for foreigners to read them correct). Hope I gave u some idea.

Welcome to the RUB also. You will find a lot of very helpful advice here and make some new friends. It sounds like you are very close to the end of the first stage. You will find that the fees for the visa and the payment for the medical are so close as to be considered simultaneous. You will have to wait for the KEV number after your application leaves NVC. You should already have the police report completed, but if not, get her started now.
Congratulations on getting this far. The remaining time will go fast, so start preparing for her arrival.

BuvRahl reacted to kaydee457 in The RFE Master List
This is where this thread is going to confuse many. Getting an RFE for lack of evidence to prove you have met in the past two years almost always is due to a lack of primary evidence. Supplying more, or many photos (secondary evidence) will usually not overcome the burden of proof.
This has been borne out time and again by USCIS decisions whereby they have found mostly in favor of primary evidence and rejected secondary evidence such as photos when submitted as sole proof.
Primary evidence is documentary in nature: airline boarding passes, passport exit/entry stamps, hotel receipts, atm withdrawals in city of question, utility bills, apartment leases, etc.
Secondary evidence The USCIS defines secondary evidence as any documentation that can be used to supplement primary evidence but in itself cannot stand alone to prove ones assertions.
Photos are secondary; so are letters from relatives, neighbors or acquaintances, bus/train tickets and essentially anything that cannot be used to prove your point with a very high degree of certainty.
To sum up; very good Primary evidence with some secondary evidence = NO RFE
very weak Primary evidence with some, or lots of secondary= Possible RFE
    No Primary evidence..........................................................= RFE
No Primary, lots of secondary.............................................= RFE
