The NVC has a mandatory check.

Those two are US based checks - to ensure that you've never committed a crime on their soil and on US territories.

The police certificate ensures that you're of good moral character in YOUR country as well.

I don't know all the red flag reasons, but most of the ones we hear about are "high fraud countries" - ie a disproportionate number of applicants are in fake relationships, designed only to get green cards. Petitioners from those countries get scrutinized more carefully, require more proof of a bonafide relationship, and are almost never issued visitor visas, especially while an I-130 is being processed.

I just googled it for you and it seems that yes...it is a high fraud country sometimes it doesn't really make a difference tho..I wouldn't worry too much if you have no red flags

DR is high risk too...ugh...and I didn't get my approval yet..sooo worried...I had no clue India was high risk

My case was transferred last Tuesday to CSC, 02/11, and got approved nearly a week later. Email/text came in at about 10:45pm EST. I'm actually still in shock.

OMG Lisa, it is crazy that i was so excited and all they did was transfer my petition. I just really pray now that we all get quick CSC approvals and can move on with this process.....
