  1. LOL I know what you are feelin there Kath. Well I have a pretty good idea.....

The only prob with finally getting touched, is that I am going to go all OCD on it again and check the damn website every 5 minutes. :help:

Ya I have been OCDing all day because I got a touch today on my AOS ... CSC acknowledged that they received my RFE yesterday and then I had a touch really early this morning ... I should know better and realise that they probably moved it from one shelf to the other but for some reason I still have to keep checking ... :)

That's good - they did the same to me - they confirmed receipt on the 20th, touched it the next day on the 21st, but haven't touched it since.

My AP never did show up in the online system (it says the ID number is invalid) so I called them today to ask what the deal was. Their highly technical answer was that it "must have not gotten entered in because of some kind of glitch or something."

How reassuring. Glad to see my $170 is well-spent.

  2. Hey gsmaclean,

I have been keeping an eye on your progress or lack of and I gather there hasn't been any change since they acknowledge they received your RFE last Friday ?? I am gauging your RFE approval as something to compare to mine ....

Nope, not a whisper. They acknowledged that they got it, I haven't heard a peep since then.

I find it funny that it took my RFE 4 days to get to Illinois from California ... I turn around and mail it back to CSC and get it to them in 2 days ... Yet it has been 3 days so far and it hasn't managed to get from the mail room to someones desk ....

How hard can it be for them to approve us if they already went through our packages in detail and issued the RFEs regarding what they needed .... You would think all they have to do is review the info that we sent and say yey or ney .... GRRRRRRRRRR

You would think that, but then that would make sense, wouldn't it? And we all know that this entire process has nothing to do with common sense.

  3. Congratulations on your approval (F)

I have some new information that might be interesting to know for some others out there as well:

As you know, my AOS was transfered to CSC on May 23, and nothing has happened since then (except for 2 "touches", the last one on August 16). So finally I called the (mis-)information hotline which actually did have some useful information for me.

Regarding the "projected processing time", the recording said:

"Please allow 180 days from the date of the transfer".

In other words, if nothing has happened by the end of next month, I am actually allowed to call and ask what's holding them up :D

Unfortunately, here's what happens if/when you call them then. They will say, "gee, you're right. We'll look into it. Call us back if you haven't heard back from us in 60 days." If you call them back before 60 days is up, they'll say, "sorry, 60 days isn't up yet. We're still looking into it."

Welcome to the infinite frustration that is the USCIS.

  4. hi ya

good on ya for posting it quick smart...but it makes us wonder why on earth are they doing this....arent they suppose to be as careful with the applications as we are getting them together...

fingers crossed it wont take much longer for your approval Waiting in Vancouver

    take care

    kath

Thank you for the support ... I am hoping they receive my RFE in the next few days as I dropped it off on Friday at 3pm and it is suppose to take 2-3 business days ... It will probably sit in the CSC mail room collecting dust for the next few weeks though :)

The USPS shows my RFE response was delivered to them on Wednesday of last week, I got an email from CRIS on Friday (two days later) telling me that they had received it - so they're not doing too badly. Now I'm just waiting for the second RFE, asking for something else they already have. :)

  5. Ok this is what the NYC office told my husband. We have stopped working on EADs from Oct 1st in this office. After he showed all the employment offers and then deniels because of no EAD Or GC the officer called his supervisor who told him that his case is at Missouri SC. He will email the Missouri office and ask them to expedite my husband's case. He then said they get email reply from Missouri in three days and then it takes ten more days to issue EAD. Finally, there is some light in the very long tunnel

Hm, if they have stopped working on EADs at that office, does that mean they are issuing refunds to all those poor suckers who sent in the filing fee to get their EAD?

I'm sorry, what a total crock of SSSSSSS.....you know what I mean.

Well I got my RFE in the mail today ... And I really wonder what happens with our applications ... How can they get somethings out of the package and not have others ... Maybe when the divided the AOS and EAD applications they put it with the EAD ... hmmmmm

They are asking for the following:

K1/MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE: Please submit a copy of your marriage certifcate indicating that you have married your United States fiance(e) within the 90 days of your admission into the United States as a K1 nonimmigrant.

I just checked the complete photocopy of the original package that I have here at home and it is definately in there ... And we did send an certified copy ... Anyways atleast it was simple ...

I shouldn't have to send anymore stuff than just the one document that they are asking for correct ?? I mean I shouldn't have to send a copy of my wife's first marriage license and divorce certificate that I already sent to them in the first package ??

What a surprise. Yet another RFE for material that they already have in their hands.

Write them back a letter. "Listen, you slobbering idiots, you already HAVE that documentation in your grubbly little hands. If you would bother to open the application and actually DO YOUR JOB for a change, instead of sending worthless RFE's for information you already have, you would know that."

OK, but it would be nice, wouldn't it?

Just send them exactly what they ask for. Nothing more, nothing less. I would add a cover letter noting that you submitted the information as part of the original submission.

  6. Hey everyone,

I just wanted to have a little moan about the lack of progress at the CSC at the moment..........

I mean I'm happy for all these posts by newbies, saying " hi everyone, haven't posted on here but been watching, found out our AOS got transferred on the 1st of October and then we got this e-mail saying approved 15 days later etc..."

but is it just me or is this damn frustrating to hear? 2 week turnaround at the CSC??, then why are all our cases just sitting there? also why are a lot of cases touched 3 times since arriving at the CSC and then nothing for nearly a month or more??? (my case will soon be like this)

don't get me wrong, at least I can work, and I'm so thankful for that, it just seems like a a lot of BS to me?!!!

I mean just look at the CSC list now, it's like a christmas shopping list at Wal-mart, it's huge!!!

Agreed, we went through this with the original I-129F, where we watched person after person being approved in weeks while we sat waiting for months. It is frustrating. Now we're experiencing it again...but at least you got your EAD and can work. My EAD has never even been touched since the original NOA1, I'm still sitting here unable to work and with no idea of when I will be able to.

  7. RFE sent to me for AOS was returned as undeliverable by the post office, I've made several calls to USCIS helpline, Changed from my address to P.O Box yet I havent got the notice yet, been more that 30 days.

Does anyone know how what else I can do to get the notice

I also need to know if that will affect the approval of my EAD.

    Thank you all!

I recall reading someone else here who had the same problem. They made an Infopass appointment, and the agent was able to look up in the file for a copy of the RFE letter and give them a photocopy of it.

  8. RFE !!

Just great got the following email about 30 minutes ago .... Here we go more delays !! Damn this process is starting to wear me down .... grrrrrrr

Sounds like they have you on the same slow-track as they've got me. Transfer to CSC, sit on it for a month, touch it a bunch of times, then issue an RFE for documentation that they already have but can't be bothered to go look at!!

  9. Well, I sent off the RFE response for my AOS today. Almost 1/4" thick, close to 60 pages of documentation - every page of which had been sent previously in the original AOS submission. Let's hope they bother to LOOK at it this time.

I've never heard a thing about either my EAD or AP, since the original NOA1 for both of them. Everyone here with similar submission dates seems to have EAD's being touched and received daily now, I've never even had so much as a touch since the NOA back in August.

Just for ONCE I'd like at least ONE aspect of this nightmarish process to go easily for us. We have had the longest waits, the most problems, everything go wrong, at every possible step. We've watched countless numbers of people sprint past us with quick approvals while we sat waiting for months with no news whatsoever.

I think the USCIS hates me.

  10. Hey gsmaclean,

You can do an Infopass appointment if you want and if that makes you happy but it is not going to work. There is nothing that the local D.O. can do on this particular problem. It sucks that they are asking you for some documents that you have sent them already but the problem is that they lost them, misplace them or sent them out to another department, section or for EAD or AP. The only thing you can do is to re-send them again ASAP so they can re-start working on your case. Trust me many of us before you have gotten RFE’s for documents that we have already sent, not as many as you but they RFE Stina and me for documents we had already sent.

    Good luck,

    Peter Miami

Yeah, I'm not going to bother with the appointment, I'm just (re) assembling all this ####### to send off to them again.

Interestingly, they don't ask for a tax transcript, they ask for a "Letter 1722" from the IRS, which it then explains is a "summary" of a tax year. I looked for ANY reference to "Letter 1722" on the IRS web site, there is none. I found lots of people on various immigration boards trying to figure out what the mysterious "Letter 1722" that the USCIS is asking for is, but no answers. So I called the IRS, and after 45 minutes on hold, got an operator who told me that the "Letter 1722" was replaced with the electronic transcript (the one you can order over the phone) many years ago, and no longer exists. Way to keep up with the times, USCIS. I wrote this explanation in my (34 page and counting) RFE response that I'm working on right now.

  11. Well I got the RFE today - it was printed on September 25, they emailed me notice of the RFE on October 4, and I received it in the mail October 10, two weeks after it was printed.... :(

In any case, they are asking for SEVEN items, six of which I already submitted in the original AOS I-485!!!!!! The last item that they want is a certified copy of Holly's divorce decree...even though she has never been married!! Lastly, they claim that she does not meet the income requirements of the I-485, even though she does (and then some).

All I can say is WHAT THE F!!! WHY can't the USCIS get their goddamned act together?!?!?!?! I'm on the phone right now, the recording says I'll be on hold for at least 30 minutes, after which I'll no doubt be disconnected.

    GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Now that just sounds crazy ...

Were you married before and they made a mistake and asked for your wifes divorce decree and they actually wanted yours ... Obviously, if you were never married then they made a huge mistake ...

No, they definitely named her - I was married before, and sent them my divorce documentation with the original package.

If you don't mind me asking, what were the other 6 things they were asking for ??

I wish you all the luck and a speedy approval ...

    Here's what they asked for:

    - Tax transcript for 2005 tax year

    - Copy of W2 from 2005

    - Employment letter from current employer

    - Bank letter

    - Bank statements

    - Proof of citizenship of sponsor

ALL of these things were provided in the original submission. If this wasn't so important, and it was just another government agency I was dealing with, I'd write a REALLY nasty letter to accompany my response. What kind of IDIOTS do they have working there???????

Oh, and the guy on the misinformation line was of absolutely no help - he basically said, "the agent who is handling the case probably just misplaced the file, or didn't bother to read the previous agent's notes, so they are asking for the information again." How reassuring.

Are you posting in the right thread? This one is for those that are waiting for FBI clearance after their interview.

    ooooops. You're right, sorry. :)

  15. I'll pretend I know what you're talking about and say yes, they are fun, now that they are cut away! :) :) I think? :)

See those things across my forehead? They are called bangs, they werent there before :P

Hope you get the RFE soon!

Oh. They look very nice. :) Glad you like them, although they will just grow back if you don't. :) Holly is growing her hair out, and right now it's in the "I hate my hair" stage. It usually doesn't make it further than this because she ends up cutting it all off as she hates it so much, but she seems determined this time.

    Hi,

Is there any basis as to who gets transfer to CSC?

    Thanks

Yes, there is - but they will never tell us what it is.

  16. I wish it was that easy...they received the information requested in our RFE on the 18th of September. To this date...nothing. Not even a glance. *sigh* I bet we're going to be one of the ones that have to do an interview.

    *BIG SIGH*

At least you've got your AP and EAD, I'm sitting here not able to go anywhere, work, do anything. It's kind of boring....

Yup, I'll do the turnaround as fast as possible.

    Hey, nice new picture, Stina!

    Thanks :D.

I had been contemplating goin back to bangs for a while (been ten years since I've had them last) just to do something different. I was bored yesterday so I got out the scissors and snipped away. I kinda like them, they're fun!

I'll pretend I know what you're talking about and say yes, they are fun, now that they are cut away! :) :) I think? :)

  17. Here's the email I just received. Well, I suppose any action is better than no action. But I'm not thrilled that instead of the imminent approval, we now have to wait for the RFE letter, then wait until they get it back from us again. GRRRR

Man that sucks ... Like you said atleast you know they are looking at your file ...

Any idea what the RFE is for ??

Nope. We have to wait for the surprise, whenever it arrives. Hopefully it's something simple ("you forgot to dot the I on line 23 of form 237-A(7)")_ instead of something that takes time to collect.

  19. I was wondering if I will get a NOA in the mail from CSC that they received my petition ... I got an email from them but haven't received a letter in the mail and I am not sure if I should have ... Did anyone else get one ??

However, I did receive a NOA in the mail (which I gather was from MSC) stating that they sent my petition to California ...

Yup thats the only NOA you will get. When they recieve it CSC just emails you

Ditto to what she said. I was wondering the same thing, I got the original NOA from the transfer, but only an email from CSC. And tomorrow I expect another email from CSC/CRIS telling me that they have approved me and are sending me my GC forthwith. :)
