If she has a job offer and wishes to use that to gain the green card, which is permission to stay and work in the US, the employer then has to sponsor for the visa for you. This is super expensive for them and also requires them to prove why they need to hire the foreign national rather than an American.

Ours on a non-immigration related matter took 7ish months, at one point they told us it was being denied but then it randomly turned up, though some was missing but we had what we really needed.

Firstly Congratulations, beware that some insurances will throw a hissy fit if you don't have an ssn when you apply for the insurance but hold on and insist they use a different identifying number.
Secondly I totally agree with the below.
Re: education. "Transferring over" isn't as easy as it necessarily sounds, so just be sure you're aware of what you're getting in to. It can be very hard to transfer coursework, depending on where you were in school and what you were doing. Be sure you understand the process of getting in to higher education here before you decide you want to give up being nearly done in the UK.
In the US for most degrees you have to take general education classes, you wont have had to do these in a UK university so you may find you have to do a lot of extra credits (classes) to catch up on this and these wont be in your degree subject so you end up doing things you have little to no interest in. For example you have to take a lab class every year even if you are an English literature student. Also the way they mark is completely different so you may find that your grades would have been good in the UK may not appear that way to an American university, our 1st which is 70% is quite a low grade for them and some institutions not used to international transfer students don't compensate for this well.
That being said there are lots of good institutions here and you can always be prepared and have an explanation of how the UK system works when you go to enquire with your choice of university.
Wishing you the best and welcome to VJ

She will most likely have to have an xray during her medical to check for TB, I was advised that even if I was pregnant I would have had to have the xray - I personally would not be comfortable with this even though the amount is negligible and you can tell them so they can shield you appropriately. Maybe discussing this with her to find out how she feels about it would be beneficial. You don't want to get pregnant then her to find out about the xray and be uncomfortable doing it till after the baby delaying the process.
Also some countries the US embassy requires a DNA test for CRBA if not married to the USC and you will have to prove you lived in the US for the prerequisite time to permit transference of US citizenship. This has to be done at the request of the embassy through their approved doctors and so may take a while to set up after applying for the CRBA.
If she ends up not having the baby in her country but in the US it may take a while to sort health insurance after you get married, this might get in the way of her schedule of prenatal exams. I would suggest you research all the possibilities and discussing with her the options before trying to conceive.
Hope it all goes smoothly and good luck :-)

If it did have a date set then when you go into the petition itself after having logged in then it will say that a letter has been mailed out regarding an interview.
If not then it might be that someone just looked at it, without deciding on a date, they then record this in the system.

Email notifying they have sent letter about interview received today, interview 14th July :-)

Yep, this is a progress report sub topic for the area "Adjustment of Status (Green Card) from Family Based visa"
In other words if you are adjusting from a family visa (fiancée/fiancé or spousal or a dependent or other family visa) then this is where you will find people in a similar situation who can give you advice on their experiences.
If you are adjusting from another visa then you might get more help from those who have a similar situation on the other thread,
Adjustment of Status from Work, Student, & Tourist Visas
Either way all are welcome, and I hope your adjustment goes smoothly. The guides are super helpful and there are a lot of people on here that are really knowledgeable.

AOS application status changed to Testing and Interview today, awaiting the letter with date/waiver. Kind of hoping it will be an interview to avoid the delay.

Biometrics completed, glad I took my marriage certificate as my ID was in my maiden name.
My local office are ok but only if you have followed instructions properly. There were about 4 or 5 people who did something wrong and they were a bit short with them but if you had the right ID and appointment letter they were very nice.

Traditional English May Day rites and celebrations include Morris dancing, crowning a May Queen and celebrations involving a maypole. Much of this tradition derives from the pagan Anglo-Saxon customs held during "Þrimilci-mōnaþ" (the Old English name for the month of May meaning Month of Three Milkings) along with many Celtic traditions.

Got my Bio appointment for the 13th of May, havent decided if I will try an early walk in or not yet.

Sent mine off today, was so paranoid about it getting lost in the mail system I had it sent certified mail and with a return receipt.

I think it isn't an immigration requirement rather a personal one that the OP needs to meet them as they step into the US
This is true, in fact as my fiance was working I even had to make my own way to our town from SFO. They only asked why he wasn't picking me up and when I said why they said that it was a shame and did I know how to get there.

Well, SAVE.Help@uscis.dhs.gov, are unable to confirm or deny if my SAVE record is correct so I guess a visit to the ssa on friday will be required. Pity as I was going to put my aos in today as well but will wait till this is sorted now so that their systems don't get messed up any more than they are.

Hi All,
Whilst I know that technically they should not be able to do this they have and they are not budging.
I applied at the local ssa office just under a month after getting here. Without asking they said they were putting in a manual application with no option not to. Called the main toll free number for an update last week and they were less than useful, rude and stating they could not give an update on the application as they were not allowed to ask security questions over the phone. I called the local office and they could confirm that the application was still pending and that if I left a message then they would call me back. A week later they haven't called me back.
Then I find out that the state employer of my fiance, now husband, will only add me to the health insurance with an ssn. Despite me asking for it to be under another number they have refused and obviously not going to listen to me demanding that they do something they don't normally do.
I have emailed SAVE.Help@uscis.dhs.gov asking if it has been updated so I can go back to the ssa office and see if I can get a new application in but I only have a set amount of time to apply for the insurance after my qualifying event.
I officially hate paperwork, ok rant over. I realize that this is just a moaning post and not much can be done other than us going to see them on Friday and asking to apply again.
-
Congrats :-) We got approved today too.
You are right, it really is easy there and they dont ask for anything more than the basics if you have a straightforward application.

I have mine on the 22nd of January, when paying the mrv fee did you get the list of required items that included all past passports?
I think only one of my other past passports had a stamp in it and it was for the czech entry on a school trip prior to EU membership, yes it was that old.
Do you think I need them?

Well sorry for delay in updating but just as the 26 weeks were up they finally had it 'brought into the building' It was processed and returned two days later.
At least we have it and didnt have to spend anymore money on it.

I am in the same position. After much tooing and froing about payment methods plus living in scotland so no official place to get fingerprints done leading to a trip to Newcastle.
I after having to resend my email with 'proper spelling' they replied to say that they didn't have me on record but that didnt mean that my application wasn't in the building.
This is the only document that I dont have and I have now had our petition approved this is going to delay the whole process :-(
I have emailed them again but not even the automated reply back. I am going to visit my partner and am now considering popping up to Vancouver to go to one of these affiliates to get electronic prints done. I wouldnt mind if some of them didnt look so dodgy with only a hotmail email contact and an address that appears to be in a resedential area.
