A retired person who gets a pension will get that yearly total on a form 1099-R. (R for retirement)

Social Security recipients will get a form SSA-1099. (Social Security Administration)

1099-INT may show significan interest income.

1099-DIV shows dividend income.

Contractors get 1099-MISC

Any of those also accompany a tax return printout to be considered a "complete tax return" for the purpose of an affidavit of support. Anybody could fill out a tax form with a fake income. It is the W2 or 1099 that that adds some proof to the numbers on the tax return.

Or instead of doing all that, a tax return transcript can be ordered (free) from the IRS. It is a stripped down summary version of the whole tax return and does not need anything else with it to be "complete".

A person who works for an employer (as opposed to self-employed or a contractor) will get a Form W-2 wage statement showing their earnings for the entire tax year Jan1-Dec 31. It also shows how much was held out for taxes, Social Security, and Medicare. They usually arrive in January every year for tax filing purposes.

The main document that is referred in this article, is the one posted earlier by America-del-sur. It does have many words, but what I understood is that DOS entities such as Embassies and Consulates will operate until they run out of "emergency" funds. It is not clear how many funds has each Embassy and for how long it can operate during possible shutdown period. Maybe someone got deeper in this doc and can explain more?

Visas and passports: The State Department says it will keep most consulates and embassies open this time around, although some passport and visa processing could be interrupted. (For instance, "if a passport agency is located in a government building affected by a lapse in appropriations, the facility may become unsupported.")

During the previous shutdown in 1995-1996, around 20,000 to 30,000 applications from foreigners for visas went unprocessed each day. It's unclear how many might be affected this time around.*

We'd already provided the NVC with stuff like that when we filed the affidavits of support, at the request of our lawyer. When the first stage of the interview went by, the guy went through everything and asked if I had anything else to give him related to the sponsors' finances - there was nothing new, so I didn't have anything to give them, and it was fine.

Hell, the joint-sponsor's W2 was missing as well, but the guy doing the interview didn't seem to mind - he just checked the AoS to see how much money they made and it was all fine.

General rule of thumb that helped me most - if you haven't submitted it already, take it with you. And if you have submitted it, take copies. You never know what they might ask you for.

what does w2 stand for please? Like you all has been given to NVC via our attorney .

My medical result is valid until March 24, 2014 so I should be in the US by then or else I will re-do it and pay another fee.

I sure am Apple21 lol. but hubby rang them today and they said it is not under review yet, grrr i sure do wish they would make their minds up !!! one day it is next day it isn't

Read my time line guys, My husband filed our I-130 in January 2103. Been at NVC stage now since 31st of July and waiting for CC. I pray you will all get some good news soon.

A tip for those of you who want to try this, my husband was none stop ringing them at USCIS asking if its being dealt with yet. So i suggest you just keep on calling them.

Yes, I just did the medical in advance. It's my own decision because I was afraid that I might take the sputum exam that can cause more delays on the interview.

I presented the email that NVC sent showing my MNL case number. My medical is valid for 6 months (until March 24, 2014).

I called them yesterday and they said my AOS checklist is still under review.

How long has it been under review ??

I do believe all applicants have to do the ds260 yes.

THE DS260 Replaces the older forms, even though most of us have sent the other ones in we all have still had to do the DS260. Hope this helps you.

Hi,

My wife recently got her medical done. She did not have a vaccination record with her as she said most people in India don't have them. She has gotten a Polio vaccine before but no Hepatitis vaccines. Anyhow, when the physician asked her for her vaccination record and she said she didn't have one, he said an expression in Hindi which basically translates to, "Oh then nothing can be done for you." But he had her get 2 shots: Adacel 0.5 ml, and Tresivac - (measles+mumps+rubella) 0.5 ml. I looked up Adacel and according to Wikipedia, that is for Tdap.

When she picked up her medical report, besides the 2 sealed envelopes she was also given a copy of her Vaccination Documentation Worksheet. At the bottom, 2 checkboxes are checked:

- vaccine history incomplete

- applicant may be eligible for blanket waiver(s) because vaccination(s) not medically appropriate (as indicated above)

Has anyone seen something like this before? I'm worried now that at the interview, they may say she needs to get more vaccinations (?).

Yes it said that on mine too, so DONT worry. mine said that BUT it also said i could not have 2nd dose of mmr due to government restrictions. and yours is stating that they arn't appropriate. Good luck you will be fine with that.

Well, in fact the countdown starts when they got your ds260 and your IV docs as well. They won't start checking your ds260 unless your IV docs have been registered for review.

Yes they was sent all the IV documents , and then the DS260 so i am presuming it is all those under review and that is why they sent checklist . So now i pray for CC as we all are AND it is always on a Thursday they seem to let us know something too so who knows maybe tomorrow they may tell us something else.
