Hi
I have been gone from this message board for long. I have a suggestion.Do you by any chance have vonage . i.e the VOIP Phone system?
If you do, there is a way of calling anwhere in Africa sort of free wihout having to pay anything i guess.
E-mail me if youwant to. It also involves using you cell phone minutes especially if you havea lot of minutes you can use. And by the way , it is LEGAL so no questions asked
It depends on you having the service in your area.

i had the same thing happen in May 2006, and decided the same. I couldnt figure out if the 2nd email was for the 1st cancellation or not, so we went. I never did find out the real story as they accepted us for the 2nd scheduled interview.
Don't know what the heck is going on with USCIS.
I got an interview letter (January 24th,2007)to go for my interview at Memphis which is like 3 hrs 30 min away from Nashville where i live
I got an e-mail saying it was cancelled.
I am going to go anyways.I am not going to go through a denial process.
-
Thanks guys. I am definitely going to go unless i recieve a snail mail saying it is indeed cancelled. Thanks again

Hi Guys,
I am in a predicament or so. Our interview was scheduled for January 24th,2007. We got this notice letter as far back as Dec 2006. Now to my surprise, i got an e-mail today from USCIS saying that the INTERVIEW has been cancelled.
WTH? I was like hellooooooooooo, the interview is next week and i am seeing this now. For all those that don't know the memphis area, it is like 3 Hrs away from Nashville and i live in Nashville(why USCIS does not have a center here-for the life of me ,i don't know)
Anyways,
WHat do i do? I need to talk to somebody before i go crazy (starting to)
Do any of you that have interviewed at Memphis have any contact numbers to at least get this straightened out before i go all the way to Memphis only to find out that the Interview was really cancelled.
-
If your CIS office is nearby you may want to show up for that canceled interview, sometimes the system says cancled but your local office fails to get notice and then puts you down as a no-show when you fail to show up.YuAndDan,
Yes, good references, and do you also have links to some of the threads where the people believed that the interview was cancelled, failed to attend, and then received denial notices for failure to show for the interview?
People who receive those cancellation notices should be very wary.

You may want to read the following 2 threads.Yes: On CFL is one that I can think of:
O god, what is going on, my spouse's interview was also scheduled for Jan 24,2007. I just got an email today saying it has been cancelled. I live in Nashville and our nearest service center is in Memphis which is like 3 hours away. What should we do?
I am totally confused . should we show up there next week or not. I cannot even get a memhis service center number so i can call then and find out what is going on. I mean why are they doing this in like a week to te supposed interview date. Pls help
Any suggestions

My wife's AOS, EAD, SSN Card, DL, Marriage Cert., GC all have her maiden name. We want to change her last name to mine. Where do we start? (this is def. one of my repost)
Start with the SSN office, get the name change and then go change it on the Driver's Licence(This is the ID)
All other stuff or name change goes onward from there.
N.B-You should have put the new last name on the I-485, EAD forms when initially submitting. I guess you have to wait till the interview with USCIS or when you get your green card to get the name changed.
-
i malied the AOS and EAD and since my fingerprints were done ,EAD was touched and AOS ,and since the USCIS recieved my REF was touches for AOS,its been about 25 days now ,and no touches for both cases ,is this normal? thanks for your help.
I am in your shoes as well. RFE requested, they got that in June, Touches since then(August), last touch August 7th,2006. Don't know what the heck is going on either.
I think we should just wait.

Question:
If you are a USC and married to a NON-USC and you wish to change your name to his name... Does the USC has to let the USCIS know or not????
To answer your question, No you don't have to tell USCIS.
I am the U.S citizen(female) and married a non-USC. When we got married, i just showed SSN office my Marraige certificate and i got my name changed to my non-us citizen's last name. Don't need to tell USCIS. I used my new last name on the AOS form.
-
Big congratulations to you. Good job. I wish you find a job soon
-
the K1 says you should get married within 90 days . The AOS part can be done outside the 90 days. The getting married part is the most important(within 90 days). AOS can be done anytime outside that but don't let it be too long.

We just recieved our reciept for the AOS packet we sent out. I was wondering why it says MSC########### ? Does that mean it's at the MO service center even though we sent it to Chicago?
Yes, your case is at the National Benefits center which starts with MSC. Even though you submitted to Chicago, your receipt number starts with MSC. A decision would now be made if it going to go to your District office or transfered somewhere else as i have just learned.
Everybody mails the petitions to Chicago if it is about AOS.
-
olutayo,
You can't call them.
They will send the case either to the CSC or to your local District or Sub office.

Hello guys,
I did submitt our AOS form to the chicago mail box and i got reciept notices with case no starting with MSC XXXXXX
I have not heard anything from them since May. I did get some touches in early part of August but nothing yet.
Does anyone have the phone number so i can call them and ask about our case.
For God's sake, cases are being transfered to CSC and getting approved without interviews.
Pls help.
Does anybody know the MSC phone number or we can't call them?
Thanks
Yodrak,
it is kinda frustrating when you see almost everybody AOS submitted at the same get xfrd and yours does not . Thanks for the update. Do i get notification that it has been mailed to the DO if it is going there or CSC?

I know my husband doesnt have to fill out the AR-11.
I thought the I-865 was used for when a sponsor was moving. He is my sponsor and he's moving.
The answer is above.
Your husband fills out the 1-865 cos he is the sponsor as long as he submitted the 1-864(affidavit of support ) for your AOS.
-
So my landlord just called and said someone has signed for the apartment and we will be moving out at the end of September. I know I am to file the AR-11 form and have to alert the USCIS within 10 days after moving. I am assuming this part's a yes but just checking, does my husband have to file I-865 form as well since he is my sponsor?
No, your husband does not have to fill out AR -11 form .,,I am assuming he is the US citizen. WHoever the AOS applicant is, he or she only has to fill out the AR-11 form.
I believe i am correct in saying that.. THe 1-865 would be filled by the U.S citizen within 30 days of him moving(based on the fact that he had submitted an 1-864 before the moving date)

Wish i lived in Dallas. That would have been great. 3 Months.Heck, i would be glad it is over by then but noooooooooo. i live in Memphis. THey totally suck
-
Mine too was submitted on April 25th with NOA of May 1st, Still waiting. Have done Biometrics already. 2 touches since then. Last touch August 7th,2006. Don't know what the heck they are doing. but on the other hand Memphis is my Local office and they take a YEAR to process AOS. I guess i should not bother that my AOS petition would be transfered to Cali.
-
Hi all, what's the exact address for sending the AOS package and I-765 and I-131 filing concurrently
Yes, you have to send all of the forms to the Chicago Lockbox.
How do you stay in touch?
