    I just want to ask... did they approve your petition for both of your parents at the same time? I also petition for both of my parents but only my dad was approved and I’m still waiting for the approval for my mom.

    Please help me update my status. I had my oath taking yesterday May 23. It was a very long wait bec the officer who interviewed me didn’t give a decision during the interview as she said “i need to wait for the system to update that I also approved your pending i751”. I don’t know why it took that long though. But I am thankful I AM NOW A US CITIZEN! I’m also thankful that I belonged to that batch bec the judge who presided the oath taking ceremony made it very special. She gave a very emotional (she was in tears!) and meaningful speech. :)

    Thanks yul250! I checked and it says interview scheduled. Yey! Will just have to wait until the letter get uploaded at the new site for the date of interview. Thanks again

    I received an email today saying:

    “USCIS has taken action on your application, petition or request and updated your account.  Please access your account to view the update.”

     

    but it when I check my status, It still says the same that Biometrics were reviewed. The only thing I noticed that has changed is the estimated completion time.. from 5mos changed to 4mos but I guess that’s bec it’s the start of a new month today.. but I don’t remember receiving an email last month. I was hoping the email was just advance and they haven’t updated the site yet... I need my interview appt soon as I have a cruise coming up which we already planned a yr ago.. :(

    My friend with a US tourist visa (B1/B2) is here in the US because of his terminally ill brother. After about 4 months, his fiance who is a US citizen wants him to stay and get married. After marriage, they plan to file I-130 and AOS concurrently. We already have read the steps and forms needed here in VJ but we just want to know: WHERE WOULD WE SEND THE DOCUMENTS? SHOULD WE SEND IT TOGETHER IN ONE PACKET? TIA

    Tourist visa holder to marry a US citizen

    I have a friend who is a tourist visa holder. My roommate here in US met him and they became bf/gf. After about 6 months, they now decide to get married. My friend and roommate now want to apply for a spousal visa so he can stay here for good after they got married. We just want to ask the procedures they should do for him to adjust his status from tourist visa to spousal visa.... TIA

    yeah coz there are a lot (i mean really A LOT!) who are getting their petitions approved so many are setting up their interview appointments... but just be patient checking the http://cgifederal.secure.force.com/ site for cancelled earlier slots... it may be so risky though.. because you have to cancel your previous appointment first, before you can reschedule... and if someone is faster than you, you might end up not getting an earlier slot... but i did take the risk.. my previous interview sched should have been feb 4 2014 but i got lucky to see an earlier sched and so nervous rescheduling.. i got interviewed dec11 and now will be picking up my visa packet tomorrow morning... ;)
