Would infopass work if our files are in Kansas and my hubby in LA? Should he go to a local office or something?
-
Whats the right thing to do to make in inquiry, there isnt any option in e-request, I just checked

Hello,
We filed in may and are approaching our 6 month mark next week.
After receiving out NOA1 we realized that my husband had a typo in his alien registration number by a digit.
We called them up and resent it but we never got an acknowledgement from them.
Is it a good idea to place a e-request to see whether they have accepted the change?
Maybe at the same time I can inquire on out status?
We never saw a touch in our case, should we place a e request or a service ticket?

Hi everyone - so I finally tried the Tier 2 operator call, and got pretty much the same response as everyone else. Both operators were perfectly nice, but can't say anything other than, "You haven't been transferred to a local office" (which is actually useful information) and the same "They're working on October 2012" that everyone else has gotten.
Obviously we all know that October 2012 aren't the only files getting approved right now, so my theory is that in order to avoid complaints, they are basing their standard processing times off of the OLDEST files that are currently being processed and not the AVERAGE age of the files being approved. That gives the MSC the largest window of time before people can start complaining about being outside "standard processing times".
Not that it makes it okay - and I'm just guessing - but I suspect that's the reasoning behind it.
It does start to make me really nervous that he won't get here before next summer - even though we are legally married, we are planning a family wedding ceremony for next June, and we had thought initially that there was no way this process would take longer than that. Now it looks like our worst-case scenario might come true - and we have to start planning for it just in case. Luckily, I am in a position to possibly take a month off in the summer (skype in for work meetings and such) and go be with him in Germany, which we might have to do if it comes to that.
Let's hope that it doesn't, and we all start to hear more April approvals soon. And let's send some good thoughts to those poor people from October 2012 who might still be waiting for approvals!

Did they happen to mention whether they would adjudicate in the NBC's?

Hey Folks...Luk , goldensky99 and lovemytico........ just chill guys..... If you don't like my post, just don't answer to that. I am not asking you specifically to comment on the same. There are other sensible VJers also who can give an answer. I didn't asked you for your expert comments. Behave like mature guys...okayyyy... All of us here know that we all are frustrated and want just a way out to get out from this waiting process.
Go ahead guys, i am not stopping you from filing for an expedite for any blah blah... reason. Everybody is trying on their own and so i am. I filed for this just caz of a suggestion from a VJer only, otherwise there was no need to wait for 7 months, i wud have filed it longggg back.
Dear Luk, thank you so much for your kind wishes, but even then i will pray that your petition should got approved as soon as possible. Ur hopes doesn't matter for me dude. If your hopes wud have been so strong your case might have got approved by now. Just calm down buddy.
Dear goldensky99, even if you won't file for an expedite, your case will be processed normally only, i think there is no harm in trying. U never know wt will work out for you. Even sitting idle won't make any difference.
Dear lovemytiko, its been a while now that i am reading your posts. U r very right, this is public forum, everybody has the right to write anything, but we all are here just to share information/updates and not to depress anyone or to protest a specific person. U have your case and i don't have any problem whatever way you choose to make processing fast. everyone wants to be with their partners ASAP and it was just a step taken for that. I have asked just for OPINIONS NOT DECISIONS. Even i am stresses as you, i am taking my steps, you take your own.
All of us here know that we all are frustrated and want just a way out to get out from this waiting process.
Here is the reason people are being mean to you after reading your post.
It may have come off as you filing the expedite request in your interest rather than National Interest, and lost sight of what expedite is really for.
This especially if your wife did not take any other notable measures, to save the people for ex quit her job.
It looks like you are looking for a fast way out, and a maybe unethical one, and it is unfortunate that you are using the interest of patients for your own benefit.
The reason why people hoped that you don't get it is because in all these stress they have tried to maintain a ethical and genuine path so that the people really in need of expeditions dont not suffer and then you come up with this.........
I hope you get your approval soon , but not this way, sorry cant be supportive
-
Thats actually quite good news , because interview means immediate approval. Your I130 ordeal ends there.
Lets just hope at NVC they make up for all the waiting here and are nice enough to push through earlier
-
Do we May filers still have hope to get there in a year? Lets say worst case we get our approvals by Feb, and then NVC and interview by may?
-
current status is this: (please add information or correct me if i am wrong)
** FEB filers are being transferred to Local offices or other benefits centers
** MARCH filers
A) those who are DCF or Expedites are being currently approved
B) rest are getting transferred to local offices. As of today.
** APRIL filers - probably will follow the same as march.?
Just curious, do you thing approving a months filers takes around a month? Say they are on Feb now, would they be on March in Nov?

I totally understand, my wife is also loosing hope, and its sad that I can't even tell her anything positive because USCIS won't give us any right information. This wait is just inhuman.
Agree this is very inhuman , especially the lack or chronological order, sudden change in processing times, lack of visibility, seperation
-
Guys, I have asked for an expedite in my case. The reason that we mentioned is: As my wife is a nurse, so she has to deal with sick and injured people on daily basis. Waiting for such a long time has stressed her a lot and we want the case to be expedited under National Interest and an Emergency situation due to lives of Americans being affected and she cannot afford to have her attention taken by other stress. Lives will be affected due to unnecessary stress if the case is not expedited.
We got the letters from her employers as well stating the same thing and attached along with the application.
Do you guys think that it will be considered for an expedite?
And the rest of us going through stress deserve it
?
Anything in life can cause stress , she should probably be in a different profession if she cant handle it.
There is no reason to get a special pass just because of your profession.
Imagine if all of us started doing this, the real and genuine reasons for expeditions would suffer!!

Did you atleast get a touch on your file?
What did they say in the infopass?
I heard some people got approved with a lawyer infopass
Did you lawyer help at all?
-
What about the people who are saying they are at overland park and also approved. What does that mean, are the files getting transferred somewhere else?
Mine has been sitting there for close to 6 months now..
-
Have May filers started calling the USCIS and placing service requests?
-
-
Nope, not yet. I have talked to tier-2 rep and past two times they told me to wait till end of november. I contacted my senator, which was waste of time. I don't know what else can be done other than waiting. This process is pathetic.
Any luck?
-
So local offices stopped accepting new I 130. nbc files moving to local office.
Sounds like decent news to me , but moot point if after all this I still need to wait for another 6 months
:(
-
They should have an expedite request just for going to the end of the line. How absurd is it that you have to go to the end of the line while others are in front of you.
-
Why did they not adjudicate there in NBC? Why do you think they transferred
-
Are they adjudicating then? Is this something recent or have they been adjudication all along
-
They added NBC, Vermont was showing 9.4 which went up thats bad news i guess?
But i still feel a bit optimistic , but again I might be the one of the unlucky people whose file is just never picked up
