  1. Congrats.... long overdue. I saw post where person when immediately and never got through and some said that its safe to go 1-2wks after card production date. If the place is nearby go ahead try your luck and remember to take all the original relevant documents.

I know ! Thanks. Well the original production date was Nov 10th . So I guess a week has gone by . We'll wait till Monday to be safe

  2. Sorry to hear about your husband, I totally understand you guys, I'm adjusting from B2 visa and sometimes I go nuts because the bills pile up and I can't work until I get my EAD card, but what they did to your husband is not fear, I know my husband told me about a number you call to report work abuse or when an employer pay less than minimum wage without benefits but I think is for US citizens just tell your husband not to work until he gets his card because they are taking advantage of him and it just be horrible to work so hard and not get paid! Hopefully his EAD card will come soon, I know is hard but try to sit thight a little longer.

Best of luck and my prayers for you ?

Thank you for your kind words. Thankfully today his EAD was approved. He hadn't worked for anyone since , waiting on it

  3. Hey guys, great news ... Today I checked my husband case at around 7pm and it said card being produced !

Checked it again now just because it's unreal lol .. And now it says case approved . What does that mean ?

And how long will it take to receive his EAD in the mail if it was produced today ?

I was so happy I screamed and cried . Seems like it took forever to get her but finally . Hoping we move along just as fast with his AOS

  4. Can people please stop attacking @mymercy .....What that other person said might of been an opinion but it came off very offensive. The way they said "there aren't laws and if there are there should t be" .... I understand it's wrong to work without your work permit but we aren't just going to starve or be kicked out of our house .... We are doing the correct thing by applying for AOS and EAD . But there is only so much I can provide on my own. And we already owe my family tons of money and don't wish to continue asking for me .... That's why he was working under the table

  5. Unreasonable racist like you shouldn't be giving a chance to speak on a sensible forum like this that involves family matters ... you should be in ya master's camp Donald Trump kissing his ### ...

Someone got bills to pay and needs to help his wife with the workload so he decided to do a legit work in a restaurant and you opened ya stinking mouth that he shouldn't be paid. How inhuman you're.

@ Milton, please tell your husband to let it go and move forward. He should search well and possibly get his info right about his next employer before he starts working for other company cos some work do take advantage of people that doesn't have EAD ... besides, your husband isn't illegal in the country just that it's the uscis that keep wasting people's time for unknown reasons.

I applied for my EAD to be expedited cos my wife was pregnant and they approved it.

You can also apply for expiditing his own too complaining of pilled up bills and see how it goes dear... hang in there, u gonna be fine soon

Thank you .. And they lawyer we contacted got the guy to pay him with a simple phone call telling what the facts are .

And I might try expediting it then , thank you so much

  6. Your husband shouldn't be working without his EAD.

Legally the guy doesn't have to pay him.

"There are rights for people even if they work illegally" - Nope, there isn't and if there is, there shouldn't be.

Of course no one should be working without a work permit, but when uscis takes forever to send out your EAD and you have a family to feed and bills to pay.... You go out and work for the money ! That's the way he was raised and I support that. And no worries, I spoke to various different organizations last night, that DO help people in his situation.

I guess you're the type of person that talks down on those NOT working but also would talk down if he was selling drugs, stealing or doing illicit things for money.

Just like that man hired him knowing he still didn't have his work permit, he should pay him, because he earned his money. It's not a hand out. And that man came to my husband it's not like my husband was even out there looking.

Taking advantage of someone in need, isn't right

  7. Guys ! I really need help . My husband hasn't received his work permit but a supervisor at a high end restaurant hired him. He worked 2 days from 11pm-6am and now the guy doesn't want to pay him making up excuses . I know there are rights for people even if they work illegally . If someone could give me a name or number to call I'd greatly appreciate it.

My husband is even crying because this is the second time it happens

  8. There is a request for initial evidence and a request for additional evidence. (both are RFEs) In the case of a request for additional evidence, you have met the basic requirements of the application; however, USCIS requires further information in order to make a determination. Initial RFE reset your 90 day clock for EAD, additional RFEs only pause it.

Did your sponsor make the required income for: themselves, the petitioner, the beneficiary and anyone they claimed on their tax return as a dependent?

    http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf

Hey , the first 1 was requesting more evidence that my mom made enough

The second one was telling me to find a different joint sponsor

So we got my aunt who makes 60,000 a year. I checked online and that's enough to support more than 8 people . She has NO dependents so it was only herself and my husband she's supporting. I followed the instructions best I could. I'm pretty drained by this that keeps holding us back ...

I think I'm going to wait to receive it and if it's difficult or something I'm not sure about , I'll be calling an attorney . I want no more RFE .

I haven't even told my husband because he's sad at this point . I don't want to further his guilt of not providing for our family
