  1. Woot! Congratulations!

YAY!! congrats to you! That's way too long to wait.

    YAY!!

We had RFE for a new medical, and we filed 8 days after his arrival to the USA. That was not even 3 months after the original medical in Dublin. And our RFE was dated a month and a day after we passed the one-year mark. :( USCIS is horribly inconsistent. THAT's the most annoying part for me!

    FINALLY!!!

We sent nothing but what they asked for and we got the NPIW. :(

Our approval was about 8 and a half months after receiving the waiver letter.

    Congrats!!

Janet, any news? I don't blame your husband for being suspicious. I'd be too. We know it's not how this process works, but all the same, I'm sorry that you're going through this nightmare... still! Please keep us posted.

Update (and I finally realized that the reason I wasn't getting email updates was because it was a new thread, and NOT because there was no news...lol): after 3 weeks and 2 days, Johan's green card was mailed today. So happy to see the end of the tunnel. Good thing we're decent record keepers, because I have ZERO desire to gather evidence for ROC. Congrats to all I've missed! Hang in there for those still waiting. :clock:

We got the interview letter today. September 1st 8am

We have not heard any news. The 60 day mark for RFE review is 8/24. Our online status has not changed, and no notices have come in the mail.

  3. It's been a long road but you got there in the end! I'm so glad we've become friends along the route.

Now take 21 welcome months off from the dratted USCIS!

Good luck to everybody else waiting. Janet & Adonis, you're now at the front of the queue. Standby, approval is not far off!

I think that its a stall tactic to say that they can sit on our file for a few more months until they feel like processing our application. We are beyond frustration. Our status should have changed to say that "you are awaiting interview scheduling" but our status has not changed. Like I have said before, my husband thinks that all his delays in his case is because we live in Texas, the state with the most illegals, so he thinks they are treating him like an illegal just because he lives here. Of course, USCIS has gone above and beyond to prove me wrong as in when I "thought" our case would be completed, so it looks like I am a lier now.

  4. An interview?? After all this time waiting that doesn't seem right at all!

The only two reasons I think we were told we are going to have an interview is because of 1. my strongly worded letter (no foul language) to the directors of the Houston office or 2. They seen all the times we have called Ombudsman, the Senator, and USCIS tier 1 and 2.

So we are preparing our evidence, which we have a lot of.

  5. I-693 is not required for k-1 and you can just submit copy of ds3025. However, if your case takes a long time to process, or you get an officer that looks at your vaccination record, they could send you an RFE for I-693.

We sent our ds3025, waited and waited, then got an rfe for expired medical, so we did a new medical and transcribed all the vaccines at that time. We sent it off in June and are still waiting.

  6. I'm in the same service center and we have almost same timeline for the new medical rfe, mine submission date June 25, 2015. If the letter you just sent work for you, I'll be sending one. please keep on posting your status.

You also have an RFE from the local Houston office? Did you send the response to the PO BOX or did you send to the physical address? We sent ours priority mail to the PO BOX with delivery confirmation, and I have a copy of the person who signed for it.

I wrote the strongly worded letter and mailed it out on Friday. I hope it does some good. I included a copy of our RFE

  8. Wonderful news - now go paint the town green!

Your case really is a disgrace. I'm sure you have done this already but have you written to the manager of the office where your case is? USCIS are [cough] committed to processing the cases in the order in which they receive them [laugh]. You could ask why that isn't the case for you.

how would I find out the manager of that local office?

  9. We received Welcome Letter on 07/25/15.

When I mailed our RFE, I sent the sealed envelope, the original RFE form, a copy of I-485 notice, a copy of the completed biometrics notice for the I-485 and a cover letter stating what was enclosed. I don't know if that had anything to do with why are case was approved a little faster than others after sending the RFE or if maybe because our congressman contacted our local office directly on our behalf. I am not sure of any of this. I DO know that filing on April 1st 2014 and not being approved until July 18, 2015 is way too long.

I sent all that as well. Except I did not have a cover letter. I am beyond frustrated. My senator said there are other cases waiting longer periods of time, and I can expect another 30 day wait. No promises.
