  1. Hi Saylin,

    How are you today?

Anyway, I am little curious about the acronyms written on your cover letter for both I-864 & DS- 260. I am referring to the NVC address.

    National Visa Center

    ATTN: CMR

    31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

I noticed this coz I am making one right now. Aside from your guidelines I am reading also our NVC website just in case we missed some updates.

the address to be sent in our documents is at:

    National Visa Center

    Attn: DR

    31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100

    Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914

    What is DR?& CMR?

    Thank you Saylin! smile.png

Go by what your ceac cover letter says. My AoS one was "Attn. CMR AOS".

  2. WE GOT OUR I-130 APPROVED TODAY (DEC-06-2013) AFTER A LONG WAIT OF 284 DAYS.. THANK GOD !!!!

I was wondering how much time it will usually take to transfer notification of the approved I-130 petition to the NVC and assign a case number ??

Congratulations! You don't seem to have a record in the Feb Transfers spreadsheet. I see from your timeline that you were transferred to NSC. What was the date on your transfer notice?

  3. OK, I just added a comment next to the cell in the speadsheet that needs to be updated. VJ is a great resource and I want to thank everyone for the support that they provide, it definitely made it better to have something to check everyday while we were waiting rather than calling USCIS or checking the status online. Thank you!

I didn't see a comment on your row but I entered your NoA2. Congrats!

  4. At last, we were approved a few minutes ago, 35 days since transfer to NSC and 266 days since PD.

On December 5, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN.

On a less positive note, we now get to play the waiting game with NVC :-)

Best of luck to all those still waiting!

Edit: Congrats nosmit01, you beat me by a few minutes ;-)

  5. My case status changed today. I got all excited when I saw the email but it was only an A-# change notification:

On December 4, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN. Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

I was under the impression that this only happened when you've also filed I-129F but I guess this is not so (I haven't). BTW, my wife does not have an ARN and I suppose this means they've assigned her one.

  6. Hi Guys!!

Just checking in. My wife got approved 11/29(NSC) and on 12/02 got notice that case was shipped to NVC.

I read all the guides and had a few queries. I hired a lawyer to do this whole process(and yes dumb move on my part). This was before I found vj smile.png How does this process change with the lawyer involved? Will it add some more time? I called him and asked about whether he is signed up for Electronic Processing, and sure enough he is not. I am guessing this will cause delays in my case? Also, once my case gets assigned, can I still call and give mine and my wife's email address so the packet IV arrives via E-mail? Or does the Packet IV still go by snail mail to the beneficiary?

I just don't want the lawyers process and my process to clash and cause issues.

    Thanks for all the help.

India does not have EP, only 3 countries do. You will only fill out 2 forms electronically, DS-261 and DS-260. Read the first 2 posts of the thread thoroughly.

  7. I don't know why I even bother calling USCIS anymore. I just got off the phone with them. Before I talked to a live person, the automated case status system told me the date I was transferred and that I should have an update within 180 days! When I asked the rep why the discrepancy from the 60 days stated in the transfer notice, she gave me the usual canned response that they're experiencing delays and they're currently processing Feb 12... I also told her I'm going to visit my wife next week for 3-4 months (hopefully she'll have a visa by then so we can make the trip back together) and to be present for our first baby's birth, so I wanted to make sure they emailed me with any case updates. She proceeded to tell me they don't email those (!) and that I will receive notice via snail mail instead. Useless...

  8. Yes I did receive the hard copy I call them every week but they give me the time u have to wait 30 days then I call them again they said u have to wait 45 days its been 4 months now nothing happen

Wow, that's crazy. Did you get an RFE by any chance? What did they have to say about the 60 day thing? I'd call them daily. Also, get in touch with your congress people and the ombudsman.
