  1. I am would just like to add to this thread that I sucessfully visited my Fiance three times after he filed, once on my own entering via Newark and twice with my two children (included on the petition) entering via Houston, TX. Visits were 2 and 4 mths apart. I did not carry any evidence of ties with the UK (am not currently employed) and the last trip was in order to start my kids at school on time while waiting for our K-1 interview to be scheduled in London. I/we travelled on the VWP program and perhaps I/we simply don't have a profile that is typical in terms of any suspicious or adverse intent (I am in my 40's) but we encountered no issues at Immigration or additional questioning.

K1 visas were Approved in London earlier this week and we're now just waiting for the return of our passports.

Thank you for your story I have just booked a return ticket which is changeable as well in case I need to come home early for my interview, my fiancé and I have been waiting since august 19th for VSC to make a decision which was stated in a letter they had sent him early august. Congrats on your approval and all the best with your future

  2. That's interesting information but a lot of it is based on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals processing a lot of people do send in the right documentation but are still required to produce more evidence later on. On the USCIS website an announcement was made that all petitions filed to Vermont after June would be sent to Texas I see on your time line you applied in May that's only 4 months you may get an NOA2 in the next month or so, there are people on here who have waited 6 months or more. I myself have been waiting since Feb 2013 which is when they received our RFE only to be told it would take up to 90 days then to be told a decision was being made August 18th my fiancé called a few weeks ago to see what the news was they told him its still in the process of a decision.

  3. There will not be a visa reaching the embassy. Once the I-129F is approved, the foreign fiance(e) can then apply for a K-1 visa at the US consulate in their country. You can try and visit while still waiting for the petition approval, but you would need to return right away when the approval goes through in order to get your medical done, fill out all the forms and schedule your interview.

I talked to my fiancé today he called VSC Thursday he was told they are waiting on a decision but couldn't give a date, he told me it might be best with us being so close to a decision that I just stay here. Thank you for your response

  4. So I was browsing through the forum and found this, nice to see a thread for Kiwis some days I feel like the only one going through this process which for myself and fiancé has been a long one. Hopefully it comes to an end soon VSC have had our RFE since FEB and he finally got a letter a few weeks ago to say they will have a decision for us August 18th cannot figure that out as its a Sunday there but oh well fingers crossed. Good luck to all who are going through the process, the things we do for true love heart.gif

  5. Thought I would update our progress, my fiancé got a letter yesterday from VSC stating a decision will be made August 18th however there were two letters from family members supporting they had met me that were not dated. A decision can be made on the evidence they have but it will help us if the two letters are dated, so those letters will be in the post tomorrow and we will await our decision. A little part of me is excited but also nervous at the same time, its just nice to know that things are finally moving along

  6. Maybe have your fiance file for an infopass. I am guessing that the reason you filed for your 2nd service request in June is because the 60 days from April have passed already. Speaking to a live person at the infopass appointment might be better. Let them know the 60 days from your first service request already passed. If that doesn't do anything maybe be let your fiance contact his legislators.

To be honest I have lost faith in the whole USCIS system definitely a far cry from the way government departments run in NZ

  7. I am sorry it has taken this long. The system just isn't efficient. They say that DACA files have backlogged both CSC and VSC. Have you put in a service request? Or perhaps you can set up an infopass appointment. 5 month is a very long time to be waiting for a reply to an RFE, I suggest doing everything you can to contact them. Calling the phone customer center just doesn't work. No one there actually knows what's happening. They are just given a script. Try filing a service request, and book an infopass appointment at your local office. If none of those work, contact your government officials. 5 months is too long to wait for a reply to an RFE!

I sent a service request back in April and another in June both came back telling me its with a review officer and we would have a decision within 60 days an info pass would be something my fiancé would have to file

  8. Its now a year and almost two months since my fiancé sent our K-1 our RFE has been with VSC since February 12th we were told back in March it would take up to 90 days for a decision that too is up so a phone call was made to Vermont by my fiancé this past Monday with an explanation as to why he was calling, the lady on the other end of the phone told him its still with them and that they are a little behind and have a back log of Visas but we should have a decision any day now

  9. Good luck with your journey I too met my fiancé on another forum we became friends in 2005 and realized in 2009 we both had feelings of more than just friendship, I made a trip to see May 2010 as soon as I saw him in the airport waiting for me I knew I had finally found my soulmate and like Nick D I too felt miserable leaving him at the airport the day I came back to NZ, late 2010 after a long conversation he told me he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and I told him if I go back to see him I wont ever want to leave his side again. So here we are started our journey with the I-29F June 2012 still waiting on a decision and yes it can be stressful but knowing what we will both have at the end makes this journey worth while, I advise you do your research on filing your I-29F and make sure you send all that is required. I am a firm believer in following your heart heart.gif

  10. ????? You mean that you are waiting since december for them to make dessision about your RFE answer???? You still did not get anything? No replay? Don't they have like 2 months to do it? Are you sure that they recive it?

No my fiancé received the RFE hard copy in December its been with the Vermont Centre since February, yes they have received it as my fiancé has spoken to them they told him back in March it could take up to 90 days for a decision. I don't know where you got 2 months from its entirely up to them how long it takes for them to do it

  11. Some time patience is the answer. I know this might not be the aswer you are looking for but stressing your self is not helpful and qill not solve your problem. It might actually creat another .. I applied in feb 2012 and didnt get approved untill appril 2013. That is a year and 2 months. if you are past 6 months then you can call from time to time to check your application. Otherwise, give the guys time to do their job

I am doing my best to be patient and you are right it is not helpful to stress over it as it does not make the process go any quicker, my fiancé has been calling some days they are polite others they can be extremely rude. One lady he talked to back in March was the most helpful anyone had been she spoke to him and also sent him a letter stating our RFE could take up to 90 days we are have counted the working days and that will be up June 17th, funny thing is I sent and e-request end of April which I have a feeling is an automated reply saying our file was with a review officer and would have a decision within 60 days. Its a waiting game but a hard one when you see others who are being approved within 5 months. Thank you for sharing your story it has made me feel a little at ease to see yours was a long process like ours smile.png

  12. Ho everybody!

I would like to know, in case of receiving an RFE, how much tine it should take from when they send it untill they give uou an answer saying that what you sent in enough.

For example: i think i sent the wrong passport pictures (as far as size) so i think I will get an RFE.

How much time would the RFE delay our approval if i sent them the pics right away?

    Thanks

Good luck with your RFE my fiancé received one Dec 2012 its been sitting with at Vermont Centre since February and we are still awaiting a decision
