  1. Kinda in the same boat here. My PD has been current since start of this year. Imy waiting for my AOS to be reviewed and if there are no errors then case closed. I should know around the 1st December.

lets stay in contact with each other since we are in the same Caribbean boat lol! Lets hope we hear something before then cause I honestly don't think it takes 60 days it should be a little less. Which would mean a interview late December maybe or early January.

  2. Didnt take long for them to start reviewing my case maybe because my priority date was since last year only for them to send me a checklist for the AOS. As soon as I got it I sent them the corrected information the next day with even more detailed information and evidence. I am hoping to hear something from them no later then December 6. Its crunch time. I wonder what my life would be like if I had done the AOS right the first time and I cant imagine if I get another checklist. I am tired and its taking a huge toll on almost everything. Unfortunately when couples finally do get together they forget that this whole thing ever happen. As for me I will never forget.

  3. i just got that same similar checklist the night before last and as soon as they emailed it to me i mailed it right back to them to cut down on the delay. i am not sure of your situation but I do admit when i sent it in the first time to begin with it was not the best information provided. There was some things I didn't know like for instance I didn't know I had to do two AOS for both my step son and wife and I couldn't list any of them on each other AOS (vice versa) I another good tip is to read the instructions that come with the AOS with a fine tooth and comb cause I also claim someone on my last recent taxes and didn't know I had to count them in the household number cause they don't live with me anymore but still had to count them, another thing I did was print out the last 6 months of my pay stubs from both of my two jobs and sought of estimated for the rest of the year the current annual income for this current year something I didn't do the first time. Another copy of my most recent tax returns 2013 and also my w2s from 2013 something I didn't do the first time. I did this for both AOS for stepson and wife with cover bar coded sheet and checklist. I separated the two AOS. Another thing I did was write the case number for both AOS on every sheet (separate of course).

  4. Yep I got the same letter the reason for the wait is cause of DACA I had got a waiting letter for when I turned in the petition too

  5. My petition just got approved also. I would say just relax. Your approved petition goes to the National Visa Center and since you are in London the paper work will then go to the US Embassy there. They will contact you through mail on what to do next. You have to do a number of things like medical, police background check, etc before the interview. Your wife will also get contacted with paper work she has to do affidavit of Support and a few bio metric fees has to be paid before your interview. It usually takes a month for things to pick back up after the petition is approved before you will get contacted again.

  6. I just got an RFE two nights ago. I was so surprised because I sent in alot of information. I read that if you were married before you need to send a copy of a divorce decree which I didnt. I sent in a summary paper of my divorce proceedings but I have a strong feeling that they need more evidence that I am divorce from my previous wedding. When I get the RFE in the mail I will finally know. I am sure its that but we will see...

  7. I petitioned for my wife and stepson to join me last June 2013. At the current moment the paperwork is still being processed and are still currently on time but I got a letter this January stating that there was in fact a backlog and that in order to speed up the process for me, they were sending it to a local office in Nebraska. Just last night I got a text for a RFE (request for evidence). Not sure what more they can possibly want because I submitted almost everything but I will look into the matter. This by the way is 24 days before I am scheduled to visit my wife again before she is to come and join me whenever that might be??. And as they say "not to worry" and I wont because alot of people had to submit more evidence so that's not really a big concern. My concern is and I may be wrong but a lot of this backlog business has to do with the fact that there are lots of us citizens petitioning for loved ones which is understandable, the government shutdown last year played a role despite the fact they say USCIS was not affected and this new initiative DACA. Because this country has been so divided ordinary soil born US citizens like myself have to go through the bureaucracy. The system that is in place for US citizens is slowly deteriorating as we take on more and more of the burdens of a failed immigration system to begin with. And by the way I am totally not one of those fanatics who are against immigrants when them themselves are a descendant of one because most of us are I know I am one. My assumption is that if the paper work is legit then something must be wrong. Its been a very teeth grinding experience and the system doesn't make things better.

  9. Its still a little early if you turned in your papers in June then look forward to hearing something around January 2014. I am in the same boat but I turned in papers for my wife in Guyana in July. You have to be patient if you have not heard anything around that time then you can contact immigration. Millions of people are going through the same process as you and its not an easy one. But your day will come! If you use this same website time line it will give you an estimate date of when you hear back about something. Last I look for me it said March/April but its changes a few times February/March. Do the time line of when you mailed off the paper work and when you got the NOA1. Use this time to prepare for the next steps and hang in there.
