  1. yes, I am gonna penalized 695 .But If i want to enroll I need to pay 255 a month,This is a lot.So It wont be a problem whether I have a health insurance or not. Thanks for answer

Keep in mind too the 695 will be per adult, per year, so this will double when your fiancé comes.

"For tax year 2016, the penalty will rise to 2.5% of your total household adjusted gross income, or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child, to a maximum of $2,085."

  2. 1733 Ghana Cedi is equal to about $410 USD

250 Cedi is about $60 USD

We will be together soon though...poor lol but together

3 years ago we paid 900 cedis for the medical in Ghana at Holy Trinity, the exchange rate at that time was right around 2, so it was about $450 USD. And we had a K-2 so it was $450 x 2 !!!

  3. Your wife MUST file taxes for the previous years she didn't. Even though she was not in the US she was still legally required to file. Have her do this then get the tax transcripts as you supporting documents.

If she has no income she must declare it but you will need a cosponser in order for you case to be approved.

She doesn't have to file if her income was below the filing requirement. She can just write a note on why she didn't file for a particular year.

  4. My fiance and I have about the same age difference. we had about 4 red flags. still got approved. don't worry! the officer didn't even ask me about it :) good luck

Morocco is a high fraud country, Germany is not. Completely different ballgame and shouldn't really be compared.

There is a 14 year difference between my fiancee Duong and I. She is 26 and I am 40. Our fiancee visa petition was approved by USCIS this month. I would advise you to go with the petition and make sure you have evidence of ongoing relationship such as phone call records, chat logs, ticket stubs of your travel to visit your fiancee. Wish you the best of luck.

99.9% of people will get their petition approved. It's the interview where red flags can or will be addressed.
  5. How long after the case reached the embassy did you go for the packets?

We waited 2 weeks after we were approved at NVC, sent an email to the embassy, surprisingly they emailed me back in a couple days instructing us to print out th email and have my fiancé bring it to the embassy on a Wednesday to pick up the packet. Now I've heard that at the Ghanaian embassy they are sending something to the petitioner in the US. And for us, my fiancé only picked up 1 packet, a Manila envelope with like 8 or 10 sheets of papers with instructions on the medical, police report, etc.

  6. Just an advice...my spouse is from Africa. African culture, the woman is younger, the man older but is fine but the other way around and the embassy will not approve as they know the culture

^^^This. Especially if the woman is past child bearing age, and as stated in this case, the man has no children. It is very important for men from West African countries to have children. ***Red flag***
  7. Most likely he answered some questions incorrectly. He didn't know enough about you and your family. Let's say he did know you and your family members. Maybe he got nervous and didn't answer none of the questions correctly. Resulting in a denial. You guys need to talk and go line by line. What happened at the interview. Good luck

At this point it's not hopeless, But you need to contact a lawyer.

What can a lawyer do at this point?

  8. I live in Wisconsin, and our law states there is a 6 month waiting period after a divorce until you can get remarried anywhere, not just in Wisconsin. But it sounds like in your case, you were not the one getting divorced so the rule doesn't even apply. If you are both free and legally able to be married at the time the petition is filed, then you are good to go. So as long as Chile doesn't have a waiting period for your fiancé, you are ready to file once the divorce is finalized there.

  9. We never sent anything related to the medical with our I-485 because we never got a copy from the medical exam. We were hoping it was in the package that was turned in at the airport and would be matched up with our file. It must have been because we had our interview last fall and my husband got his green card. They never asked a thing about it.

  10. Still think 62 pages is to much. Not saying they shouldn't bring a lot down there but it still have to be good evidence and not just pages og pages of nothing really.

Other evidence can be used also so not only chat logs

62 pages is definitely not too much for an African high fraud country. You need quality and quantity, and a variety of different communication methods. We sent 300 pages for Ghana which included phone calls logs, text messages, skype logs, chat and video, whatsapp logs & facebook chats. A variety from each one showing communication over time.

  11. Title says it all

Me and my then fiance got married here in the USA on a k1 visa on April 1st. we havent applied for social security number yet...are we able to do that now or do we have to wait until after AOS is complete?

    Thanks

When does your I-94 expire? As long as there are atleast 14 days left, you should be able to get it now:

  12. I used a company online called HCC Medical if I remember right. I used them from the time my fiancé entered the country until we got married and I could add my husband to my insurance. They had a high deductible but I only wanted something for major medical bills. I don't remember them wanting a social security number.

  13. If you're wanting to file soon, since it sounds like you're getting close to the 2 year mark of when you last met in person, it sounds like you'll need a co sponsor. By the time of the interview (when you need to present the I 134) you may make enough, but it's so recent the embassy may not accept it. Get a co sponsor lined up just in case if you're wanting to file ASAP. BTW, having your girlfriend here in 4-5 months is a bit aggressive...if everything goes like clockwork it may happen, but be prepared for it to take longer. What country is your girlfriend in? Some aren't very accepting of cosponsors for the K1.
