We have traveled our Visajourney to the end, success !
We followed the steps provided here on the Visajourney website, mixed with prayers, and support from our friends, my wife became a US Citizen on 8/12/2018!!!
It takes a lot of patience, but if you do your homework, file the correct documents, and supply the required information, you will win.
My wife took her Citizen exam on the Sept 12, 2018, she told the examiner she was able to answer all 100 questions, she killed it. My wife said she was a little disappointed because she was so ready they only asked her the simple questions. After her test, they invited her to take the oath, about 2 hours later on the same day. We had and huge hurricane coming in, and since we were already there in the office she agreed to take the oath. We were expecting to get a oath ceremony in about 2 weeks, we wanted to invite some of our friends to attend, but due to impending weather she went ahead and took the oath. We have a new American!!
My wife is from Romania, she told me, when she was a child and saw airliner fly over her house in Romania she would wonder if it was going to America, Our started our journey 2013,
and now she is here! Our next step is for her to pass her nursing license.
Many of you know about this, but what a feeling it is to be able to be part of someone's life long dream, and watch them become an American...the right way, and forever
Thank you Visajourney!!
I have recommended at least 3 other people to join and win!
Best wishes to you all, God bless!

Once you file, you will get a one year extension letter. We have had no trouble traveling. Just be aware, you are going to need to be patient. It is likely to take the entire year before you can get the Removal of Conditions, (ROC). In our case we felt the need to go for an info pass stamp in her Passport,...There was three weeks before our one year letter was set expire. We got a info pass appointment got the stamp in her passport, and one week later we received the Approval Letter of ROC in the mail.
We required to send more proof for our bonfied marriage too. I think it was just to stall working on our case, never the less, be aware that it can take the entire extension letter before you get the approval. We didn't have to go to a interview.
Just be patient and keep track of the time, if needed be ready to go get your info pass stamp.
God Bless, and help to expedite your process.

Greetings all.
We need some help. My wife (Romanian) and I got married last April, we didnt know we would need to register the marriage in Romania in order to get her passport renewed. We have tried to contract the Romanian Embassy in Washington DC by calling and emails.
Wife has her greencard, and NC Drivers license. and she has a US job. We wanted to travel to RO next spring.
Here is what I would like to know:Has anyone delt with this issue. My wife's passport expires in 12/25/2016 - can she renew this in the US, and would she need to change her name to our married name, can she just renew the passport?
What are the forms needed to complete this, I understand we will have to go to Romanian Embassy in DC and appear.
Do we have to register marriage first? Can she just renew her currant valid passport and romanian ID in her maiden name?
Does anyone know the exact step by step instructions to complete this task with the least amount of trouble???
Any help or advise please!! -
Almost two years since we started the process..I checked our Case Status today and look what I found!!!
Welcome Noticed Mailed:On April 3 2015 your permanent residence status was mailed: Your residence card should be received by June 6 2015
My question at this point we dont need to renew our WORK and Travel document..it expires in July.
Thank you, ( So excited)
Thanks Visa Journey Folks...you have helped us so much!!

Send and email requesting the letter from the Embassy. Make sure to mark the email in the title line Police Clearance Letter, they should respond back to you, or you may have to go and pick it up.

We finally got on the road to our Marriage, and new life. We left Kuwait for a 10 day Romanian vacation on the March 15, we had a great time there. We made it to the USA on March 25th...no problem encountered at our port of entry (RDU).
Wedding planning in full swing...and May 3rd has been selected.
Wow..what a trip. -
Thank you for the information..

I am getting ready to file AOS forms, I have a couple of questions. If I dont have any certain dates to travel out of the US, can I still file for AP and use it at my convenience?
Is it recommended to file this with the entire package, any problems with reentry, and can it be used more than once as long as its valid?
Thanks
G

We did our interview on 28 OCT 2013, they have been processing it since then. I have always suspected they must have thought we were already married, it seems they did think that..notice " Your WIFE"S Fiancee visa"... Anyway, it seems it has been approved, and we will be allowed to depart from Kuwait together!!!!
Onward!!!!! -
And I thought my wait was bad. We have been waiting since OCT 29, on AP since NOV 10.... Congrats to you both!!!!!
-
Getting frustrated. We had a K1 visa interview on OCT 29 2013, Then on NOV 10 they sent an email asking for proof of residency in the USA, I sent them a dozen items, like tax bills, 1040's Copy of my Deed, Copy of stateside drivers license.ect.. I have been sending emails to the US Embassy requesting a status every week since then; then they send this:26 DEC
Thank you for your email.
Please provide copy of your job End letter. The officer will review the file and we will contact you accordingly.
Regards,
Immigrant Visa Unit.
My contract ends here in Kuwait MAR 9, I have been trying to get a status on our petition so we can make plans for my fiancee to leave, as she is required to give 90 days notice before termination... I was hoping we could leave together.
Has anyone seen this before??

The issuing county is the Philippines.
-
We have been waiting 45 days, since our interview... So take this advise, make no arrangement's until you have the visa in hand. You never know what may happen. But dont lose hope, just careful in your steps.

I was checking my visa status, on CEAC site, I noticed that
Case Creation Date: 20-Aug-2013
Status Updated Date: 08-Dec-2013 has been changed... it previously read Status Updated 11 Nov 2013. I am still in "Administrative Processing"
They asked for proof of domicile around 5 Nov 2013, I sent them about a dozen different documents with my currant USA address to the email they supplied. I have not heard a word since then. There is no phone number were to inquire, only a website. I have repeatedly requested an update, or information/instructions to assist with the decision. The petition was valid till 18-NOV-2013...It has long since expired. They have not sent an official notice of denial, or acceptance.
Any ideas, or information about this situation. The have been holding my Fiancee's visa since OCT 29 2013 the day of the interview.

Thanks Sparkle and Sara.

What if anything is required by me at this point???
I received this : "We have received your K1 petition from NVC, please find attached our instructions. The petition is valid till 18-NOV-2013."
Then we had the interview date: "Thank you for your e-mail. Your appointment will be on Tuesday, October 29th , 2013. They are still holding my fiancee's passport". The K1 petition has expired,,,we have been in communication, but nothing mentioned about the expiration date, will it be extended??... Is that automatic??
Anyone??

Thank you volkditty, I have no intentions of ever coming back here... Maybe a visit, but not likely.
-
Thank you!!, I have supplied to them most of the above information. Tax forms, Drivers Lic, Phone bills, Copy of the Deed, Insurance Bills, Cable bills, 1040/w2, bank account a copy of a personal check and a copy of my overseas contract showing that is year by year. All have my name and address listed. I hope they will just look over what I have sent.

Ok, We have had our interview...after the interview I received a email requesting proof of domicile stating that consular was not convinced we were going to live in the USA, and if no other documentation was sent they will have to deny our K1!!?? (Why else would we ask for a K1 visa is that required in the first place??) Anyway is there a law against marring in the USA and returning to Kuwait if we wanted to? We dont by the way, I want to go home and live there.
I sent them 10-12 documents back in return email,10 days ago, I have had no response. Today I had to take my passport in for renewal as my passport expires before my contract end in March. I had the opportunity to ask the Immigration officer the status of our case. She told me that they have my fiancee passport, but have not looked at any of my emails?! She then asked me are you planing on leaving Kuwait I said yes, we are awaiting approval, we will submit required notice of termination and go to my home. She then asked me are we coming back, I said no. She stated to me that she would have the consular look at the documents with my name and address on them. Is this not unusual, I wonder why all of this extra stuff?? I have not received a Official Request for Additional document/proof. But only email, which I have immediately responded to. Anyone have ideas??

I meet my finacee here in Kuwait as well, I submitted pictures of us here in Kuwait, also copy of civil ID with the dates highlighted to show they were during the same time. We submitted copy of passport stamps with the date. I went with her to the embassy and requested at the window if I could come in with her, they let me. During her interview they asked her when was the last time she had seen me, she pointed he is sitting over there; I walked up, and stuck my head around the corner and said hello to the interviewer...she was suprised and said hello! That sealed the deal I think...except there seems to be a problem with one of the interviewers not beliving us that we were not married, and even questioned why we were not married.... I have been asked to show proof of US residence..for my K1 visa.... I hope this helps.. We are still waiting to hear if we have been approved, or not...its been over 10 days since we gave them her passport, BUT they have not requested us to come and pick up the visa...I hope this means its in process... I hope to hear anyday.

He did say, how is it that you have never been married and acted as though he didnt believe that.....and acted as though he could not believe I own the house.... My fiancee said he just kept glaring, made her feel very uneasy.. we had all our papers, and supporting documents, all tabbed out and everything.
On a good note, this site is really a wonderful help...We went into the interview totally prepaired, questions and everything. Thanks to all of you.
My wife, US Citizen!

I wanted to UPDATE you folks on our story:
She worked hard there too, taught herself to be able to communicate in English, Arabic and taught herself Spanish. But she dreamed of coming to America. She had to pass the English equivalency test, she tried several times but didn't make the grade. She basically gave up on the idea of being a nurse in the US, and told God, his will be done.
Then God moved in our circumstances and I came to Kuwait to work a contract for the military, and through a friend made contact with Rodica. We fell in love. We began file papers to bring her home with me. It was a frustrating, and exhausting task. But God in his own timing worked things out and home we came. We got married 5 years ago this week. We started attempting to get her nursing license her in the states. You see she had two licenses already, Romania, and Kuwait. American registration was more difficult than we had anticipated.
Rodica had to pass an English exam to a certain level in order to apply to take the US nursing NCLEX. We had great difficulty in obtaining and certifying Radica's college credential through the CGFNS credentialing service. They made us wait for nearly a year before releasing it to the NC Nursing Board. Rodica tested 7 times in English test before she finally got the required grade.
Rodica didn't stay idle either, she got her NC Drivers license, she received her NC Certified Nursing Assistant, CPR, she tested again and again till she passed the English test. We applied for her Green Card, her permanent resident card, her social security number, and finally her application to become a US Citizen, which she obtained Sept 12, 2018. She was able to vote for the first time during last year mid-term election!
Rodica was finally given permission to take her Nursing exam. She didn't pass the first two times, she said I am not giving up. By the grace and mercy of God the third time was the charm!!!
As you can tell Rodica never quits. We prayed and prayed, we cried together, we prayed some more. Finally with the encouragement of many of you and together with prayers Rodica has succeeded in passing her NCLEX.
It seems like it was only yesterday sometimes, but it has been a long road. I want to thank so many of you, I want to thank the Lord Jesus who sustains us, even to this day.
God is good, all the time...and he will renew his strength in us if we walk uprightly and wait on him.
