Hello March filers. We filed March 25th, and it was received the 27th. A new waiting begins. Good luck to all!
Hi TnJ,
I sent mine out the same day. Have you gotten any text or email messages yet?
Cheers,
Blue Bianchi

Interview scheduled for May 1st :-)
Yay!

Got four receipt text messages at 9:50 this evening! So nice after a few days of nothing at all

I think this proposed law makes a whole lot of sense.

Status on the EAD updated to "card production" today!
Travel doc also updated, to "post decision activity."
AOS still at "acceptance" (no move to testing & interview yet).
Very, very happy - holy cow do we need the EAD with the baby in daycare!
M
Congrats on the EAD and the baby!

Newspaper job ads are good for this. I must say that if YOU have to be asking around for them, they don't have a chance against folks who have been in Manila for a while and are more assertive about their job search.

One thing about most Filipinos are, they ask indirectly. Typical Asian nature. I've heard a lot of Americans say that but when you hear their family say; "My dad is hurt, he needs medicine and nothings left.", "We have been hit by a typhoon last week, house is a wreck.", or "Your sister needs this in school. That's kinda costly."...that means- I NEED MONEY.
Believe that they're not really asking if they just plainly said it and there's a follow up statement that there's something being done to solve it.
If they think you should have done something and you didn't and it resulted to worst they'll say "Eh, kasi ikaw."..meaning.."If only...this would not have happened"
This is so true. I was probably guilty of this indirect form of communication when I moved to the US. But I think I am more direct now, so I do notice this when I interact with friends back home. It is typically Asian. Asking for help directly is akin to losing face.

Collect evidence meticulously. Plan on your life without him. Seek support from trusted friends and family. Call the number and report him. Truly sorry that this is happening to you

I always find the phrase "My Filpina" odd. Makes her sound like a pet, which I find odd. Of course a lot of us do it.. Just saying
Any smart Filipino would not marry anyone who calls her "MY FILIPINA" in all caps, and with seriously questionable grammar.

Breathe. Go for a run. Send your employers copies of the email that says the card's status. Wait. That's all you can do for now.
Hoping for a great photo finish for you,

You'll also need to pay attention to your prospective sponsor's income and existing dependents. They may ask for your sponsor's W2s and tax returns.

Filipinos just don't seem to live that way. If money is in hand, it can be spent. After a year and half, she's come to understand we need to plan out expenditures a bit more than she ever worried about in the Philippines.
Carefull with the generalizations man. Filipinos know how to budget. You just married one who wasn't familiar with the concept.

Hi Semperaye,
I have had the same problem with an aunt, who is dear to me, but for some reason she only hears what she wants to hear when we're on the phone. My mother used to send her money when she was alive, but now she is hinting that I should take the responsibility. The truth just is, I am not well off enough to give her an allowance. Just say what you want to say, which Is "no." It will probably take a while for them to hear it. But this is not worth all the stress you are feeling.
Best of luck,
bb

Hi,
You are definitely NOT obligated to send them money. Unfortunately, telling them and them accepting that won't be easy. But that's the way it goes. It's mean of them to accuse you of being selfish and cheap. If your feelings are hurt, let them know.
It won't be easy, but in the end it really is the most loving thing to do. You have to be honest with them, they need to stop manipulating you and it all needs to be a relationship based on respect. Sometimes the best road isn't the easy one. But you'll be okay.

Oh my, it all sounds so complicated and painful. I only spent about 30 minutes max for day one and 10 minutes for day two at a small clinic here.
-
i have not had any updates yet since the 5th when they updated to testing and interview, on the time line the average days between biometrics and Interview is 77 days at denver office, i guess this the longest part of the journey...waiting for interview date/place
Yikes! That is rather lengthy!
Hi Mabouby and Blue Bianchi I'm in the Denver area also! Mabouby have you had any updates to your status yet?
Hi Dianazoe!

Yes thanks for checking in
It was not for I-130 as such, but for the affidavit of support under AOS..
Since my sponsoring wife USC doesn't have sufficient income and I'm using my income they want my tax return for 2012 itself!
That's crazy. USCIS level 2 told me that this morning in regard to the RFE..
It's crazy they said even if we were in jan 2013 I would still have to file and show my return for 2012, not 2011
I'll have it April 5th at earliest...
That delays my whole AOS for close to a month..
Glad though I got it near filing taxes and not in Jan!!
If you file your taxes electronically, I.e. turbotax, you can get your 2012 return faster.
Good luck!

Was pretty excited to receive alerts from USCIS while I finished my bike ride..
But it was for a RFE for my I-130..
Wonder what it is.
Since concurrent with I-485 does that pauses EAD and AP as well?
How is your case doing? I hope the RFE wasn't too complicated.

Any other March Filers out there?
-
I tried to do walk in yesterday and was turned down. Got there at 8am and there were about 2 walk-ins as well. The person said that they were not accepting walk-in that day since the office was pretty crowded. I'd say it's a matter of luck depending on when you go to the office. Guess I'll just wait till my appointment date...
It doesn't hurt to try

Agree on the LOTS of money. She will have to pay foreign student tuition rates, which are more expensive.
I suggest doing the pre-med part in a good English-language university in Brazil and then do her grad and post grad studies in the US.
Cheers,
