Congratulations. You have been updates on spreadsheet.
Thank you! This probably makes no difference, but the spreadsheet says interview date 10/8, but it's actually 10/6
Congratulations to everyone who got their interview dates! And good luck to everyone else!

October 6th Will probably see, if we can also get an earlier date after paperwork reaches the embassy.

Haha. I hear ya. We lived in a small town in Florida and I ain't going back there either! The DC area is nice though. Although I'm hoping we won't be staying too long. Trying to get into grad school
Yup, small town (more like a village I suppose) in the middle of nowhere was not my kind of place. Especially since it's right next to a methane plant...
Which field are you in, if you don't mind me asking? I just started my PhD studies at the University of Helsinki, and I plan on continuing writing my dissertation after we move.
Hey guys,
So I had my medical with Anna Back a few weeks ago. She was really friendly, so I can definitely recommend her! Apparently Borgström doesn't really do exams any more, so I guess there's only two doctors to choose from. I think Back is only available on Wednesdays, since she's not working at Eira every day. I picked up the results myself and they were in a sealed letter which I'm taking with me to the interview. They could probably send the letter to you as well, but it was easy for me to go and get them myself.
We never got a letter from the nvc, but I booked my interview after getting a letter from the embassy. Interview times were not available for every day, but the wait wasn't long (less than a week for the first available time). And at least when I checked all the times were at 10am.
Good luck to you married people too on your journey!
Thank you for sharing your information! How much was the medical? That's too bad about Borgstrom, I heard good things about him.
Good luck with your interview! Do come back and tell us how it went, if you have time!
I don't know if someone already posted this, but for those of you who can read Finnish, here's some Finnish visa/medical experiences: http://www.naimisiin.info/yhteiso/topic/112197-ohjeita-usan-viisumeiden-hakuun-vol-2/page-15

Congratulations Ellinora! Glad to finally see you here!
Sorry for everyone else- Been super busy packing the old flat away! It's been quite a hectic week.. Interview is on Friday! Nervous wreck I am right now.
Congrats on all the case completes and interviews being scheduled .
Good luck to all those who are about to have their interviews, and congrats to those who were approved!
Thank you, so happy to be finally at this stage!
Good luck on the packing task and Friday's interview!

Checking in, thank you for the info and thread dwheels76 Waiting for an interview date and will probably call NVC on Tue/Wed to see if we got lucky

We are thinking of moving to the DC area as well, but it really depends on where my husband's career takes us. He's originally from a small isolated farming community in the Midwest and I'm not moving back there
-
This seriously breaks my heart knowing you guys who are already married must wait that long to get your loved ones over here. I honestly don't find it fair!!!! I really hope this is resolved soon and you are all united once again.... please don't lose hope!
I know, my husband feels like we are being punished for getting married! But, we've been married for several years, so I will (hopefully) be getting the 10 year "green card" and won't have to worry about adjusting or removing conditions. I plan on applying for citizenship as soon as I can so I never ever have to go through this agonizing process again.
Have you already received your interview date?
You're almost there! Congrats and let's hope you get your interview soon!
Thank you, I hope you'll get the checklist reviewed and a cc soon as well! Where will you be moving to?
By the time we get the interview date, we have most likely been on this visa path for the one and a half years. I would have given up on this process many many times, but my husband stays adamant and I do acknowledge that it is his turn to live (and have us all live) in his and our child's home country.
-
Congratulations!!!!!!
Thank you! Still having a tough time believing we really got a cc...
Congrats! You deserve this since you were patiently waiting for a long time!
I'm so happy that you found another co-sponsor quickly after your mother-in-law changed her mind!
Thank you! Yup, we are lucky to have such an understanding extended family. I just don't know if I will ever be able to forgive my mother-in-law for her actions, but I guess I will (have to) learn to live with it haha
Thank you! And thank you for the awesome gifs!

Congratulations!!! You are one of the few people who had to wait longer than me, so I really am happy to see your CC!!!!
Thank you, it is truly a relief to be finally able to move forward!

Congratulations :joy:
Thank you! Arthur delivered me the happy news
-
Thank you!
That is awesome! I love Ancient Egypt and even contemplated Egyptologist as a career
I've loved Egyptian history ever since I could read, since my Grandma, who was a homemaker, had a ton of history books she let me read as a kid. I've been super-lucky to have been able to study something I love, but unfortunately career prospects are pretty non-existant Maybe I can teach hieroglyphics at a community college or something

This is very good news! Glad to see this!
Thank you so much for your support! I really hope it is good news.
I think it's pretty good indication. I haven't heard any reports of someone getting N/A on the AOS fee without CC. Wishing you luck and call as soon as they open and report back!!!
Thank you, hoping so too!
She actually did tell me but I don't understand what's wrong with our hoisehold size. Maybe something is wrong with sponsor's household and not ours. That's y I m waiting for the email. Plus it's my brother in laws wedding on Friday. So husband's house is full of guests and festives are going on. So I don't think he would be able to prepare it before weekend anyways. And I can't bring myself to ask him to this news killed all his happiness. I wish we had known on Monday or Tuesday so we would have saved a week.
Oh Samreen, I'm so sorry You have had to wait too long as well. If there's a word to describe our visa journeys, it's "unfair"
Thank you, I really hope it is indeed a CC! It would be so frustrating to be disappointed again.
Also, as an Egyptologist I really appreciate the Egyptian dancers

Congrats to you!
Call the NVC though (5 more hours to wait .. lol)
hey was your last scanned document 3rd JULY?!
they should be working on the 11th (MAYBEEEE 14th .. not sure)
ask them when your case was complete for us please
gr8 news
Thank you, hoping for the best!
Last scan was July 8th and when I called yesterday, NVC said they had not reviewed our case yet. So, if we have a case complete, it is a very recent thing. I'll try to call again later today to find out what's going on.
-
Congratulations to the case completes!
Our AOS fee is N/A now, could this mean we finally have a CC?

Seems as if they are ROBOT and they are always eager to spill out the 60days usual quote.
It's their "professional" mantra it seems... "if the beneficiary/petitioner asks something, just keep repeating 'It will take at least 60 days' until they get fed up and end the call. Works like a charm every time!"
-
Just noticed this, we are another Finnish-American couple, or a Finnish-American family as we have a dual-citizen child born while we previously lived in the U.S.
We've been on the IR-1 visa route for almost 1,5 years now with no end in sight..
-
Customer service rep in a robotic voice: "Your package should be reviewed any day now" "It will take at least 60 days to review it" "There is no problem, it just has not been reviewed yet" "I don't know" "Thank you for calling, have a nice day" I don't know why I even bother...
-
My family says "I HAVE GONE CRAZY" and due to stress, I have gained weight. Moreover I can't even concentrate on my studies. Every Night is sooo long. I just keep speculating , making assumptions, what if I get IV fee bill on this and that day, how long its gonna take after that. Will I make it to December interviews. Ohhh no with this New NVC policy, it might be in Feb. From August I jumped to Sept then Oct, Nov and so on. Everyday I count 30 business days and 60 calendar days both lol yes I realise I am stuck in this NVC WORLD!!
I know how you feel, it's in our mind all the time, can't shake the speculating, wondering etc. I don't know how I managed it, but while waiting for the visa I have written my Master's thesis and am now starting my PhD. I wonder if that'll be half way done before we get the visa But at least the writing (and working full time) has kept me occupied and hence somewhat sane.
-
Oh yes now I remembered u sent ur package late due to the sponsor's problem. What's ur scan date?
Yes, "lovely" mother-in-law bailed out on us, but luckily another relative stepped up right away. Scan date was July 8th
-
I know right lol! But the funny part is that is the post that I m dying to make and I saw it with ur name out of nowhere lol. What r u waiting for though? Checklist for AOS?
Well I sure hope your dream is a good omen! Yup, we are waiting for AOS to be accepted (or checklisted, which I obviously hope won't happen) and then for a case complete.
-
Elinora it might sound absurd but I actually had a dream that u had a case complete Actually I dreamt that right before I woke up and I could swear that it wasn't a dream but then I looked over a few pages of the thread and saw no post of urs saying 'my AOS package has been approved' because that's what I saw in the dream
If only dreams came true!

Hi, I have been lurking around this group for some time. My NOA1 was May 2013. Is there anyone else that is still trudging through this process from that far back? Looking at the spreadsheets it looks like no one is left from the summer. I have had no RFE or checklists and still I think I am way behind everyone else. Anyone else still out there?
We're still here. May 2013 NOA1 as well
-
It's a hit or miss with these guys. How many business days has it been since your last scan date?
Please use the business day calculator that I had posted earlier:
Thank you for the link.
36 business days so far...

If they are working on July 11th scans, then they totally skipped ours

No interview letter here yet.
I know exactly how you feel. We have watched people who petitioned months, even a year, after us get approved while we waited. Hope you get your interview date soon!
