  1. I’m finally leaving to pickup my fiancé after being apart for the last 7 months.

We really feel fortunate because many people wait so much longer. When I visited my fiancé in April we met a man in Camotes and he had married a Filipina back in the early 80’s. They had waited 3 years to see each other only corresponding by letters once every couple months. Now that’s a long wait. They have been married for the last 30 years.

In our case we were fortunate to have Skype, Facebook, Yahoo and Gmail. And I’ll tell you one thing, if I never Skype again it will be too soon. :)

So stay positive and keep in mind that your wait will eventually be over.

Now all I have to do is convince her that she doesn’t need to bring a suitcase full of food home. lol

    Destination Carcar Cebu!

  2. Congratulations ! Whatcha cooking, to celebrate ?

Cooking a big reception the week after she arrives for the wedding on the 14th!

Actually I'm not cooking anything, the Italian restaurant is. :)

But there is a big despedida celebration that I'm throwing for my fiance' Rose on November 23rd in Carcar at the beach resort. They'll be cooking for the 120 guest. One pig for Lechon, lumpia pancit...ect.

I say go big or go home...and in this instance I'm actually doing both. lol

  3. Leaving to pickup my fiance' next week and returning to the US of A on December 4th!

Seven months from start to finish was not bad at all. That's even with a 2 week delay in administrative processing. :) Actually we both agreed that it went by fairly quick.

Thanks to all for your advice, especially "the conciliator" who's assistance and advice came in handy. Especially about not booking travel until you have that little visa in hand. That tip actually saved me a lot of headaches and I received an even better airfare booking later.

My advice is READ THE help sections, do your homework and don't panic. In the end your significant other will get here safe and sound. Just follow the process and have some patience and a little faith.

    ;)

  4. At least nobodies taxes are being raised...thank God for that. Because when they use the term "tax" that seems to make more of a difference.

Maybe we could actually start taxing the billion dollar earning businesses in this country and offset some of these cost?

My payments actually went down...well because I'm in a union and we bargained that. But then again unions are evil...lol

  5. I pray the run Cruz out for President. It will be worse than the Romney debacle of 2012.

For some reason the GOP doesn't understand that the US population is not as completely bat$hit crazy as the Tea Party base.

Even more idiotic is that why would you run a far right base solidifying wing-nut candidate when you need the middle to win?

These guys aren't bright enough to damage film in a darkroom.

  6. Amazing how times change so quickly. We used to walk around with bb guns all the time. No one ever gave it a second thought.

I only let my son have nerf guns because they are orange.

It's a sad country we live in when cops could actually think a 13 year old would have access to an AK47 assault rifle. It's almost like the Congo out here.

This kid died because of the NRA's single minded drive to arm America to the teeth and to protect gun lovers freedom.

    It's a shame...just a shame.

  7. It appears you object to a country full of free people. May I suggest a relocation to Pyongyang or Harare?

    I am not trolling.

I REJECT the idea that there is ANY thread on ANY subject where the celebration of LIBERTY is INAPPROPRIATE!

    I REJECT that idea!

Since relocation isn't an option at this point I'll stick with plan B: Pointing out the absurdity that freedom in the US is somehow tied to a firearm. If that's what makes a man free then they've truly lost the plot.

If you "have to" carry something to protect you in order for you to feel free, how could you claim that as freedom?

The "illusion" of freedom with a firearm is a marketing ploy sold to the lemming masses of the US.

The Founding fathers would be appalled if they were alive today; because they had no intention of 80% of this nation ever actually voting. They initially sought freedom from taxes, nothing more. If they weren't taxed so heavily we'd all be British.

Real freedom resides between every persons ears...nowhere else.

  8. My fiance is now worried that we need to fill out the new DS160 online. We originally had our interview scheduled to take place on 10-22 and we needed it to be moved to 10-25 because of her medical.

I originally scheduled her interview on the date 9-23-2013, this is before the 10-7-2013 deadline as stated below.

    ___________________________________________

NOTE: For K visa cases in process at a U.S. embassy or consulate, the DS-160 is not required when, prior to October 7th, 2013, one of the following situations exist:

    • The K visa applicant is already scheduled for an interview.
    • The K visa applicant has already been interviewed and has been requested to submit additional documentation or is pending administrative processing.
    • The K visa applicant has already submitted a valid, signed, unexpired DS-156, DS-156K and/or DS-230 or received instructions to do so.

    ____________________________________________

The issue is that I when I rescheduled the interview to the day 10-25 I did the rescheduling on date 10-8. Past the deadline.

Does that now put me into the group of people that must now fill out the online DS160? Or am I safe to proceed under the old guidelines because it was originally scheduled on 9-23-2013?

    Any information would be great.

  9. POlitics & history is riddled with persons rising from the ashes,

Clearly he is not "in ashes" but he has lit some fires and made enemies and had a huge loss.

But I thought we were tired of the way Washington always does things?

    rofl.gif

I got a feeling we have not heard the last of Ted.

Anyone care to go on the record with me one way or the other?

Here's a tip...these rofl.gif don't make it funny. Although the contents of your post are hilarious, it's not in the way you originally intended.

But by all means please continue...
