Best option would be to get your birth certificate corrected, to match her passport and other documents. That way, she will not have to change any of her old documents. IF this is not an option, then you will have to take the path of having her documents match the name that is mentioned in your birth certificate.

Unless the names match, you will either get the process delayed or rejected. Indian affidavits confirming both names are of the same person are known not to impress immigration officers.

ditto, you cannot petition for your mother until you are a USC. That will give her time to correct one of the two, or she corrects her passport or she corrects her birth certificate, whichever was incorrectly done.

I am a Green Card Holder and am planing to file I-130 for my mother, but there is below issue

My Birth Certificate says her name as PATEL NIRMALABEN N

Her Passport / BC and School leaving certificate says PATEL NIRMALABAHEN N.

In Gujarat both are used interchangebly.

So along with I-130 when I send my Birth Certificate, officially my Mother name is NIRMALABEN. But that will contradict the passport copy which I will send along.

Please guide what to do.

I chose some other address. Just wanted to know whether I will get my green card on the same address...

Paid the $165 USCIS Immigrant Fee right now. First you need to create an account at USCIS ELIS. Also, found out that when you enter the A# you need add a 0 at the front.

The A# printed on the sheet which they gave her had only 8 digits - xxx xx xxx

You need to type A0xxx xx xxx

I paid using my checking a/c. But found out one could use credit card too, to pay this fee.

(1) Do they ask for photocopy of AOS? We have already submitted original AOS then why photocopy

(2) Do they ask for any documents of my wife (US Citizen)?

(3) Which original documents they ask for? (Original Marriage certificate, Birth Certificate, photographs, PCC already submitted to NVC)

1 - We changed our biometrics date, we are doing medical on 12th June and biometrics on 13th June. didn't want to leave it too close to the interview

2 - do they have medicals in mumbai on saturdays? I thought the sheet from the consulate page said M-F?

We FINALLY got our IL email today and on the last page it lists out what documents the NVC is forwarding to the consulate and what documents you need to carry. I think we are pretty set!

I also only came to know telephonically when I called yesterday at 7am eastern to NVC that my case complete and interview were completed on 9th May for a June 18th interview.

So i would say call back today and ask NVC if they have scheduled your interview.

I am still waiting for an email.......even though Reese at NVC said I should have gotten it yesterday!

my case complete was 5/9 and my interview was booked 5/9 for june 18th in mumbai so you might still get a june interview!

May I know yr case completion date

After calling 25 times, and being on hold for 45 mins...the verdict is in.....Interview scheduled for June 14 - 8:30am! And it was scheduled on Friday May, 9, just like the rest of us who have been waiting.

I have seen people writing in their timelines "AOS accepted", "IV scanned", " IV accepted" etc. Do such things appear in ceac login page???

I have submitted AOS and IV packet and has reached NVC. What appears in the ceac login after this????

Checklist for passport police clearance form from India for my husband who is an Indian passport holder. He now has to go to India to get this. I ask led the damn NVC if he can get a case complete and present this passport police clearance at the interview in London embassy (when he gets an interview date) they said no that the passport police clearance is required document at NVC for the case to move forward. The NVC has a letter from the district police commissioners office already with his file, but they say that's not enough. So my husband has to go to India he made appoint at the Indian passport office in India on May 13, to get this done.

The damn NVC doesn't care. I have jo more hope my husband will be here for the birth if our child. I am very bitter toward everyone. I am not able to travel because of my pregnancy. I am depressed and upset and devasted.

Really sad for what happened, but I have something sadder for you. Please look at yr husband`s passport. If your name is not endorsed in his passport then first he will have to apply for reissue of passport which will take 20 days and after getting new passport only the passport office will give Police clearance certificate.

You can send it in prior to PAID status; they are not going to scan in the package or even look at it for a while. Just make sure the money has cleared your account this will happen the very next business day. This is to make sure there weren't any errors with the payment transaction.
