  1. This may be a silly question but what does "For commercial overnight or fast freight services, only:" mean? I am looking at the USCIS website to see where to mail my AR-11. I plan to to send it overnight and was wondering if thats what that phrase means.

I sent mine by express mail to the fast freight address. Then two days later I checked with USPS and it was delivered. I guess the other address is for normal mail.

    Ok cool.

The last question on the AR-11 says: "If not a Permanent Resident, my stay in the US expires on:"

Obviously being on a K1, my I-94 expired March 18th. What do I put there?

    I left it blank

  2. Ok so, I am moving on wedenesday. Obviously my green card wont be arriving by then. Do I notify the USCIS before or after I move?

I called USCIS to notify them that we're leaving a week before we moved. The customer service refused to do it because she said we have to already completed the moving before they can change the address, even though you have your new address already. One week later, we called them again. It was also the day our case was transferred to CSC. We're so glad we didn't miss any important mails.

PS. I mailed in the change of address form like 2 weeks before we moved though

  3. Morning all,

Just wanted to say good luck to all still waiting for approvals.

Hope we get some touches today

    Ally

thanks much.... hoping for the best...

Stina, jeeleebee, Kweli, Carlos&Simone, gsmaclean, khan... wassup guys? report in! :D

Peter, Dusy, Kitty, Diana, Ally... send your approval mojo our way so we can all have a great weekend!

I am sending you all massive approval mojo

  4. Yes nayalamb's right, we must stay positive! It may not be happen instantly, but we still dont have the hassle of an interview and thats a HUGE load off of our minds!

My problem is I worry when I dont hear something. We've all been there, the "what-if's" start playing in my mind, "what if they are taking so long because they are thinking of denying me?" or "what if they are taking so long because they are trying to figure something out and are going to ask for an RFE?" That's my biggest issue with it, the scenarios I play in my mind when I see no action/update happening.

Anyway, i will stop rambling and will say a prayer for us all before i go to sleep tonight.

    Here's hoping for tomorrow!

    Cheers!

They normally only transfer easy, uncomplicated cases to CSC. I dont think they're thinking about denying you after they transferred you there! Also, you already got an RFE before getting transferred.

Stay positive, lots of friends with you here (L) I know its easier said than done, but do your best

  5. Congratulations on the green card!! We got ours today too!! Isn't nice to be able to work and travel whenever you want!

    Diana

Yep, congratulations to you too! Haven't heard from Peter in a while though, wonder how's he doing, and what is he doing

His wife probably got his green card today too and is too busy partying it up.

The first thing that came to my mind when i got the greencard was 'OMG I gotta let my visa journey friends know!'

  6. Question : Now that I have a greencard, I should be able to travel outside of USA ( to visit my family, been 9 months!!) without problem right? I noticed it's said in the instruction that came with the greencard that "If you plan to travel abroad and believe you may be gone for a year or more, you should apply for a reentry permit". But I am only going to visit my family for less than a month. AP or just GC? :help:

    Thanks! (L)

    Congrats on your new status!

I recommend the following reads to anyone who is becoming a Permanent Resident, so you can better understand your rights and responsibilities (plus your travel question is addressed there).

  8. AOS denied? What is the reason?????

We got married secretely, So we have to show our parents that our case was denied so they can be sure

    that we are not married.

    Thanks.

HUH? First, you can't even file and AOS if you are not married, did your parents not know that? If you filed AOS = you must have been married, denied or not, doesn't make any difference in this case

  9. Hey Guys!! We got our Welcome letter today!!! and three emails saying that the case was approved!(looks like we are on the same schedule Kitty_Kat! It said my husband should get his green card in three weeks. Well one week as almost already passed so hopefully it's coming next week or so! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some approvals today :D

    Diana

Sweet! I haven't gotten the welcome letter yet, hopefully in a couple of days :luv:

Enough with us already approved getting spammed by emails from USCIS, they should start spamming other CSC transferrees with approval emails (F)

  10. Touched again today, and got 3 emails from USCIS :

*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

The following is the latest information on your case status

    Receipt Number: MSCxxxxxxxxxx

Application Type: I485 , Application to Register Permanent Residence or

    to Adjust Status

    Current Status:

This case has been approved. On September 20, 2006, an approval notice

was mailed. If 30 days have passed and you have not received this

notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your

address, please speak to an Immigration Information Officer during business

    hours.

First, welcome notice, then that one, still waiting for the 'we have ordered you a new card' email

Hope they also sent these emails to other CSC transferrees that's been waiting for approval! (L)
