Is the continuing support letter just a precautionary measure? I don't see anywhere that it is a required document.

Yes they need to be translated. I have been using a company called Trustforte for this, they have been very professional and quick, I think they are in New York.

Our I-129F case was sent from the NVC to the Moscow embassy on May 7th (confirmed by NVC) I was able to schedule the interview for June 11th just yesterday, However my attorney sent an email to the embassy to confirm that they have received our case, they replied back and said they have not received it yet. Is it possible to schedule an interview online if they've not received the case? Will they cancel or reschedule the interview? Any suggestions how to track our case to see where it is? I would have thought DHL to Moscow would only have taken 3 or 4 days so I can only assume it is there but they say not there.
I appreciate any comments.

My fiancee got a letter to take her daughter on vacation to Mexico from Russia, she was convinced she would need it, no one ever asked to see it.

The Russian embassy does not automatically mail a packet.... they expect you to do it all online.... if you send them an email and request them to mail your fiancé a packet, they will...... as for interview dtes, they only ope a few weeks at a time... you have to just wait..... .. I got tired of waiting, so we decided when we wanted to go to Moscow, we made our travel plans, and waited.. check the website every day, then sign up when you see the dateyou want.... this worked out well for us..
Does Moscow schedule interviews everyday Mon thru Fri or only certain days?

Thank you for the posts, she is going to start calling and trying to track it down. She is from Bratsk and has always lived there so it surely will show up soon..

My fiancee requested a police report in her hometown in Russia nearly eight weeks ago, I was not expecting such a long wait. I would like to hear comments from others that have gone through this process in Russia and get your experience to see if this is common or if there might be a problem.
Thanks!

In RUB countries, the only way to get anything done is to pay a bit. If you do not pay, they will do absolutely nothing and make up all kinds of excuses if you call them. You'll be lucky if they actually do their job in a few months. If you slip them some cash, all problems magically disappear and everything can get done pretty quickly.
I am certainly not opposed to the idea but my fiance seems to think since the document is coming from Moscow there is no way to speed it up. Thoughts?
I am surprised at the lack of response to my original question, I would like to hear from a few more members as to how long their wait was.
Thanks!

Is it possible that there are two types of police reports, a local and Federal or national police report in Russia? She said it is coming from Moscow, I would have thought the local police could have generated something rather quickly.
Any feedback is appreciated.

A little "consideration" will quicken the process.
Are you suggesting a little money to grease the wheels?

My fiancee lives in Bratsk, she applied for a police certificate 6 weeks ago and still nothing, I would like to know what others have experienced with this,. Seems a bit loing to me.
Thank you.

They don't usually start to show up on VJ until late evening.

Am I understanding this correct, once you get the MNL # you can schedule the interview with the embassy even though they may have not yet received it or maybe not had time to process it or send out the packet yet?
-
Very helpful. Thank you!

I was under the impression that she could wait until arriving in Moscow a couple of days before the interview to do the medical, is that not the case?

If U have received your NOA2 then your papers get sent to National VISA CENTER---- a week after that,or so, your papers get shipped by DHL to Moscow ( you can track your shipment) (look up DHL shipment on this site)--------after Moscow recieves they will send an e-mail to you and your fiance w intructions for scheduling-----THEN you can schedule.
Wonderful... Thank you very much.

Please see our "consulate interview" response-----It will go well--be prepared and be "to the point"
It is an experience worth having. Good luck
At what point can I contact the consulate to schedule an interview?

Please see the Moscow Embassy instructions--- Petitioner is "encouraged" to attend and I recommended that.. Mike
Thank you Mike, that is good to know! I intend to attend.
-
I have seen on this site where the petitioner has stated that he was able to attend the interview at the Moscow embassy, however I see on the embassy website that the petitioner is not allowed to attend. Is there any members here that can shed some light on this discrepancy?
Thank you.

People: the online system SUCKS. Why is everyone freaking out about it? Do you know the online system isn't even really attached to the real case?
Are you suggesting that the online system is not necessarily updated when a petition is approved? So the only way to know for sure is wait for the mail?

CSC started to approve October and December files. I how will start soon January, February and March. Are any March filer here? http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=5&op2=d&op3=1&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=All&dfile=No&adv=
I think Igor's list is the best way to make sense of what is going on with the service centers.
What happens at the NVC step?

I can tell you that in my exprience the NVC received the file one week after the NOA2, I called them about 10 days after the NOA2 and got the case # from them, at that time they said the case would be sent out by the end of the week. It was a vey quick process. They do not set the interview date. I can only speak for the process at the Russian Embassy, I waited a couple more weeks to let the Embassy get the case then I was able to get on the Embassy website, and pay the fee and schedule the interview with the case # from the NVC. it may not be quite that fast in other counties.
