Good for you.
There is nothing wrong with loving your country. There is something wrong with suggesting anyone with any complaints about it should leave, though. There's also something wrong with blind patriotism that means you shut out or ignore anything that goes against your #1 mentality.

This is really a two part question. This mainly goes out to any long time members who may have been around the K1 scene back in 2001, nevertheless, does anyone think or have any reason to believe that the Boston attacks will have any effect (besides passage of a new law) on the processing times of K visa petitions already filed?
And (in case you're wondering about part 2
) are there any risks, concerns, or things I should know if we decide (which we kinda have) to get married in Korea this summer instead? I lived over there for a year and the embassy is usually very prompt and makes the process very easy from what I've been told, but will the previous I-129F petition subject to us to any other scrutiny, either at the embassy or at the POE?? Thanks for all the help (most helpful message board I've ever seen)
You can't get married in Korea and then enter the US on a K-1 visa. You have to enter the US on the K-1 and marry within 90 days. You'd have to refile for a IR-1/CR-1 if you get married, which will put you to the back of the line. Oh, and withdraw your I-129F.

About 3.5 years for us. Started dating in the US, but about a year and half of us living together/dating was in the UK.
While we're apart (a lot for the last year, due to work and visas), we keep in touch by FaceTime and iMessage primarily. We decided to file during his last visit here in November 2012 even though neither of us had previously had any intention to get married - at least for a very long time. But, obviously, we couldn't be happier now.

THAT word again.......
It's my new favorite thing since that thread. ~drama~

Or one could simple recognize that there are a number of good places in the world and that there really isn't any exceptionally great place out there at all. When one lives in a country that lags behind other countries in so many areas and leads in so few, it's hard to see how that makes it the greatest place on earth. And one ought to be allowed to say that without inviting comments that one should move. We're all adults here, no?

Hollywood is not reality. Hollywood is a liberal pipe dream.
Guess I don't live or work in reality. Now I'm having an existential crisis.

I assume the LA folks were dropped at Hollywood Blvd.
Confirmed.

Hey December-ers. So I was bored and decided to do some math and see how we're sitting. Basically, I looked at the rate of approvals for the last few days and took a look at how many VJers, according to Igor's list, are ahead of us. I ran the numbers through so, in theory, this applies for people who filed by Dec. 31st.
If we keep up at a rate of 25 approvals per day (it's been more than this, but I want to be conservative even on my optimistic calculations), December will be approved through Dec. 31st in approximately 4 weeks (based on a 5 day work week).
If we slow down and average 10 approvals per day from here on out, we'll be finished in about 9 weeks.
So basically looking at around 1 to 2 months at the current rates. Fingers crossed, eh?
(Remember, these numbers are very likely flawed as it is based on user-supplied data pulled from VJ and very very basic)

There now...25 already and still going. Not such a sad day after all
That's why it's important to wait until the end of the California day before panicking
-
-
Yes? I'm aware of that and it has nothing to do with anything I said?
-
It's 7:30PM here in California. Friday, they were sending out approvals at 10:30PM PST. And any approvals are a good sign from CSC - let's not forget we had none for days at a time for MONTHS.

Not at all ! Par for the course, actually.
Perhaps we're not on the same course?
We are most definitely not on the same course. Are we ever?

Oh MY GOSH !
You were sharing !!
Got it. Often I ask how a 'thing' or topic makes a person feel, but right there, you let the cat out of the bag.
Good On Ya !!!
Oh I forgot I was totally having a conversation with you about this topic - oh. Hold on. No that was not you.

Apologies, when corporal punishment gets taken out of the picture, and the fear of corporal punishment, then it's a huge pile of moral decay to look back upon. This kid is the end-result of at least 4 generations of moral decay in his family unit.
That's quite a conclusion to come to based on a t-shirt.

What? Why do you hate my right to privacy? Ain't your business where I am going, is it?
Trade off: you keep your privacy, but you don't get a penny of my insurance when I rear-end you because I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE DOING.
-
I would not be supporting the kid if he was violating the school policy - in this case atleast right now it seems he was not.
Most schools have a clause in the dress code revolving around "offensive or distracting articles of clothing" - which this could arguably fall under.
I am all for protesting school dress codes, but it doesn't surprise me that a gun on a shirt would be a big no-no.

I also don't like using turn signals.
.......you people.........are my enemy.

Moving catering to fantasies of nonconsensual sex - 1st Amendment protected or not?
This is P&R, nothing is
Well, I'd argue that it was off topic to this specific thread, but then I'd be giving attention to it and. Dammit. Look what I've done.
-
Just make sure to cut it up with paragraphs so its easier to read.
And make liberal use of the font tools. Perhaps add some red font for when you really mean bizness.
I don't think it would be correct to ban that. If someone wants to do fantasy rape videos, let them -- heterosexual or homosexual.
This is a whole other can of worms.
-
And the lies continue. Shame on you.
Hahahahahaha OK so you really are just messing with me now.
-
They were not compared. You should stop lying about people. Embrace the truth, even if you find it uncomfortable.
...your title alone compares them. I think you need to relearn what "lying" and "truth" mean.
-
I said rape and homosexuality both exist in nature. I did not say they were similar. This is a typical LGBT tactic to bully people with opposing viewpoints by lying about what they said.
And your inability to form cohesive arguments and become defensive and cry "bully" is exactly what opponents of human equality do when confronted about their own ignorance
Also, when you compare two things, as you did, you are assuming that they are similar enough to be compared.
-
Well, aren't you just so precious?
Says the person arguing that rape and homosexuality are similar, if not the same, because they both exist.
A Reality Check.

Everything is moral decay. Everything. Our society is just a rotting corpse of morals. Everything was better in the '50s when segregation existed, homosexuals were killed or forced into hiding, women were being domestically abused at alarming rates (and couldn't have a credit card), and lead was used to paint nurseries and children toys.
