CALLING BDREW!!!
Can you tell me if we can go ahead with our medical before the case complete? If the medical is good for 6 months then we are comfortable scheduling it for a few months from now, we should be close to a CC then and we'll both be in London on our way to Belgium for our much needed time together.
Thank you!!
It's not recommended to complete the medical prior to your case arriving in London after interview assignment. You want your documents to already be there because Knightsbridge forwards your results directly. Having a case to match them to minimizes chances of things getting misplaced. Also remember that you have to enter the US within 6 months of your medical date or have another medical performed, as it has to be valid at POE.
(Sorry to step on Bobbie's toes, work is slow today finally

I'm loving this thread!! This is like the Visa Journey after party!!
P.S. Since I only have 9 more days of sleeping alone, I am hogging the bed while I can!!!
At least you're planning on sharing! We have a king sized bed and I swear we only use a twin bed worth of space together. He definitely steals all the blankets for himself though

LOL!! I'm not going to see my hubby tonight, I have a feeling today is going to draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag!
And now the nerves are hitting - it feels like the day before I got married LOL
Ohh that's rough!! I hate the "going dark" periods before something big happens. Even when we were just on planes heading to visit each other, any block of time I'm a) not asleep b) not allowed to talk to him is really hard. I hope you can get some rest!

VISA APPROVED AND IN THE WEBSITE SHOWS AS ISSUED....it means it is printed and soon to be deliver? I want to thank VJ family (Specially Saylin our Immigration Fairy) for all the support and encouragement you have giving me! I want to wish all of you good luck and God bless all of you!
WOOHOO, CONGRATS!!!
Yep, issued means it's on its way!
-
Nope, you didn't miss it LOL The interview is tomorrow at 8am (2am my time)!
!!! I'm so disappointed today is not the 6th
Ahhh man... it's a good sign that it's already a long week at 10am Tuesday, right?
-
They didn't give me my passport back so I think I'm approved LOL.
Nobody said APPROVED, I didn't ask. Interview went well in my opinion.
They just gave me a piece of paper with info about delivery.
Congratulations!!!
You are the queen of suspense!! If they gave you delivery info for the visa, it's safe to say you're approved! :-P
CONGRATS and a premature welcome to Minnesota!!
Speaking of queen of suspense, where's your post?!
Did I miss it?

Soooo, we paid AoS fee on Friday so I assume the AoS will unlock sometime this week. Just so I'm completely prepared, however, I was wondering if anyone who filled out i864EZ could give me some insight as to what they did. I keep seeing people saying they got checklists because they left Part 3 #9 blank "if different from mailing address". Put N/A? Write "Same as mailing address"? I'm wondering what is best. I also wonder why leaving it blank or not matters to the NVC, it's so trivial, and obvious that if it's blank, THE ADDRESSES ARE THE SAME. Silly... I'm stressin' out over here because I want perfection *___* Also, if blank spaces matter to the NVC, what about the last bit of the form? Part 7, no one else will be preparing the form, so should we write N/A in it? Or does it not matter?
I thought i864ez was supposed to be easy.
I filed the EZ and wrote "SAME AS MAILING ADDRESS" in that space. I also wrote N/A on the preparer section. Better safe than sorry!

I concur. Case Complete June 16th, interview date August 29th (I then turned into a turbo bi+ch and our interview was moved to August 6th).
Did you get check listed at some stage? What was your last scan date?
Turbo
This is my favorite thing today so far.

If it is 60 calendar days, I am on 50 by the date on the letter I received. I am starting to wonder I should take a trip to see my wife, who is really heart broken (I know I may seem crazy but you all understand how it is to see your loved one so hurt). Does anyone from the UK have an idea of how long it can take for our interview once you get case closed? Is it massively variable, or reasonably predictable?
Most UK filers have their interviews roughly 6-8 weeks from case complete. Swing by the interview thread and take a look at Dwheels' awesome spreadsheet to get the latest stats. For us, we had CC April 3 and interview May 19.

VISA APPROOOOOVEEEDDD!!!
I will be posting his interview review to our timeline shortly. His interview was at 8am this morning and he was in and out in less than an hour!! MY HUBBY IS COMING HOME ON THE 30TH WITH MEEE!!!! YAYYY!!!!!!

Y'all are the best and for those still waiting on your next step, we wish you the best of luck and we're cheering for you on each of your individual journeys.

Did someone say Disney?!
A mouse will show them how to run a business!
Hahah, love how quickly this happened
Maybe they can kick their tooshies into gear at Disney Boot Camp!
Wait, is Disney boot camp actually a thing?!
-
That made me LOL.
Summer holidays, NVC doesn't work during State Fair season!
They're all waiting for jsumner and Saylin at Disney! =o

Home is when your heart is...
Your hubby is very lucky to have such an awesome wife
I wish you guys, with all my heart, all the best!
<- Me last night. My mind was so busy spinning it wouldn't let me sleep
Again.
Thank you so much, and to you too! I'm heartsick to see how bad things have become at NVC, on top of what happened at USCIS it's just way too much. I hope you catch up on some sleep this weekend and that you have luck with NVC come Monday
-
No wonder, just saw your profile photo is a cat
It would be actually amazing to have someone working at NVC or USCIS come here on VJ and do AMA. A Visa officer from Lagos consulate does this on following link.
http://www.nairaland.com/1792591/u.s-immigration-questions-ask-u.s
More specifically it's a meme cat making a Zelda reference
:D
That link is great, definitely wish things like that existed for earlier stages of the process. For me the absolute worst thing about the whole ordeal wasn't just having no control, but having no expectations set. There was no logic to the madness and no answer to the huge number of questions everyone has when backlogs occur. Peace of mind is at least a small comfort.
-
Glad to see another redditor
. I don't think it will be a popular AMA though, we are a minority
Another redditor here!
I've had the same thought as Mandiimoose wishing for an NVC AMA, but yeah, probably won't ever happen. Maybe on r/casualiama.

Ah, coffee won't be enough.. NVC needs an IV caffeine drip!
Or sumfing?
Congrats on the new job!
I think it's totally normal to have some bad days during the 'adjustment period' after POE. Fingers crossed he gets a great job soon and makes some really cool friends
You guys will get through this... together
That said, although I lived in the US for a few years, I am still pretty nervous about moving back there. Don't get me wrong, I am super excited to finally start a life with my hubby, but... still sooo stressed!
Yeah, it's such a big life change, I can't imagine not being stressed! I give my husband and all other beneficiary types here on VJ all the credit in the world. It takes so much strength, bravery, and love to do what you're doing. I do hope he'll be comfortable and happy here in time even if it's never "home", but honestly if it doesn't happen we'll just live somewhere else. Anywhere we can share a happy life together. Even if that means another visa process
O)
But u start a job right away over there right? Is it taking him log to find a good one?
It's possible to start working right away on a spousal visa, but the job search definitely takes time. We only started in earnest a week or two ago when we got his resume and cover letter done, but hopefully the search goes well from here
Financially we're fine if it takes a while, but emotionally it takes a toll on him to not be working. Understandable, I know I'd feel the same in his position.
-
Aww, thank you!
Hopefully! I haven't seen my husband since January and won't see him until my interview (well, a day before or so)
Hurry up, NVC!
Are you totally and absolutely happy and overjoyed to finally have your hubby with you?
Aww! Gosh I really hope that interview comes quickly, I should consider making that coffee delivery to NVC. WAKE UP GUYS!!
We're so thrilled to finally be together. His arrival combined with starting an amazing new job a couple of months ago (my last was a real soul sucker) has made life very nearly perfect. It's just not easy for him settling in here, so there are good days and bad. When he has a job and has met some people in the area I think he'll feel a lot better, but the past month without those things have been hard on him. It all takes time and he's doing great as far as I'm concerned! Every day is a step forward
-
Checking in! My 5th NVC thread.. Although I rarely post, I'm here every single day
Good luck, everyone!
May August bring us all good news
Looks like it should be any day for you! Hope good news is right around the corner
-
Sitting on a packed subway car, saw this just now, and laughed out loud. I'm getting some clearly "okaaay, crazy chick" looks, but who cares, I'll never see these people again anyway
Worth it!
-
Hahhaha, well played Saylin
-
So sorry this happened to you
Unfortunately it's an extremely common checklist, although most people get it on the I-864EZ, which has that same "leave blank if address is the same" section that they secretly don't actually want blank. I've never seen anyone get NVC to remove the checklist, but one person did report they complained to their embassy and the embassy contacted NVC to fix it. It's definitely worth a shot.
-
Haha, you love this girl!
-
Hi Saylin, I guess you are kind of busy today, hope you haven't forgot to open NVC filers-August 2014 thread.
She probably has to get home from the job she's actually paid to do before she has a chance to start the new thread...
Related: Saylin rocks.

Certified copies are 100% acceptable, it's notarized copies that are checklist-worthy. I think people might get confused about the differences between the two and use the terms interchangeably when they shouldn't.
