  1. you studying the timelines in yer portal ? yes? no ?

Hi Darnell. Yes, I have been. My wife and I were one of the unlucky people to have a "false" interview scheduled for October 3rd. Got the email from the NVC on September 9th with our appointment date and everything. They called the next day (after I had bought my plane ticket to attend the interview with my wife) and said they had made a mistake, and we in fact did not have an interview scheduled. Spoke to a supervisor and she said to send an expedite request because I'd already bought my plane ticket and because they had sent the false interview letter. Got notice yesterday the request was denied.

We're just wondering when we may have an actual interview scheduled. We're pretty frustrated.

  2. I would like to hear more about this letter.

I sent a letter to Senator Grassley, he is top man in government on immigrations these days.

I am also one of his constituents so I expect to hear something soon.

We need to get everyone who has had this happen to them and all contact Senator Grassley.

    -Phil

Here's the email they sent me Phil...

  3. What?? already closed Oct interview dates??

Talked to the Embassy yesterday, they said there were still slots for October. Called the NVC this morning, they said the October schedule closed yesterday. So, who knows.

same thing happened to me! i was trying to get my mom and i just got an email with the interview date for my mom and abt 24hrs getting the mail, they called me that there was no interview date yet! it was an ERROR!! i am so F***ing mad right now!

Sorry to hear that. Welcome to the club. When I talked to the NVC this morning I insisted, politely, that they send me something in writing stating they made a "mistake" and I DO NOT have an interview on October 3rd. I've heard horror stories of people hearing their interviews were "cancelled" by the NVC and are later denied for not showing up to the interview they were told was cancelled. I had to talk to a supervisor but they finally agreed to send me a letter.

  4. Mine was completed last July. No I did not fill up a DS260 cuz I didnt apply online. DS 230 was returned and filled the blanks. I just followed the instructions just to put my name and signature since all the data needed are on the i130. At anyrate I completed it to satisfy their ignorance of their instructions

I just called the NVC again. Still no explanation, but they did say that the schedule for October is now closed and they are waiting for November to open.

Also, here's the link about the DS-260 for the USEM Manila....http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

NVC said they do not need the DS-260 but the embassy may want it. We're just going to do it anyways to be safe.

  5. Yeah man I will post here whatever happens. Will email them also. I believe there also others of the same fate. Good luck.

Was your case complete before September 1st? Mine was and I haven't been asked to fill out a DS-260. But when I log onto the CEAC website the DS-260 is there and says incomplete. Our case is already complete with the DS-230.

Just wondering what your situation is?

  6. Bgreen samething happened here. Received a letter dated Sept 9 for interview on Oct. 3. Then today NVC called informing me there was a mistake. No reason was given. Thinking that it might be a frank call I called NVC 603 334 0700 and US embassy in Manila and couldn't give any reason.

I did the same. Called the NVC and the Embassy. The NVC told me to email NVCEXPEDITE@state.gov and explain the circumstances. I also included a copy of my packet 4 with interview date they sent me. I am doing a Congressional on Thursday as well. Let me know how your case turns out and when you get an interview. I'll do the same. Good to know I'm not the only one.

  7. We received our interview date and packet 4 Monday. I called this morning to see if the packet had left for the Embassy and the NVC told me the appointment letter was "sent by mistake" and we DO NOT have an interview scheduled. I already booked my flights and made travel plans and changed my work schedule, now to find out "they made a mistake." No other information was offered by the NVC.

What can I do at this point? Does anyone have any experience with this? I posted something earlier about this and didn't get any advice. Can someone please help us....We are so frustrated and don't know what to do.

    Thanks.

  8. I received my packet 4 yesterday with my interview date for October 3rd. I called the NVC this morning to try to find out if our package had left the NVC for the USEM Manila yet. The rep said she saw no interview date scheduled for me and put me through to a supervisor. The supervisor told me she didn't know what had happened but she does NOT see an interview scheduled but she would call me back and let me know. Well, she just called back and said an error had been made and we DO NOT have an interview scheduled yet. Has anyone ever heard of this?????? #######. Our case was complete on August 28th, we get what we thought was good news yesterday and now we're back to waiting and the unknown.

  9. Thanks for the info.

So would it be safe to assume that my interview could also be a month from now?

Do you any idea if the interview schedule on our case (IR-1) is affected by the volume of other IV cases?

Hi, just wanted to update you. We recieved our packet 4 and interview date yesterday, Sept. 9th. Our interview will be on October 3rd. So thankful we finally have a date. You should be getting your date soon. Good luck!
