My wife is moving here to the US in February. We are wondering what the best (cheapest) way to ship her things would be? She is bringing 2 suitcases but wants to ship a few boxes also. Thanks!!

Has anyone been successful in signing up their spouse who is in the country on a CR1 visa for Obamacare? We need to get health insurance for my wife and are wondering if this is an option. Does it require a SSN? Thanks for any advice!!

2go tried to deliver our visa yesterday but my wife and I weren't here and they wouldn't let her Mom sign for it. Will they try to deliver it again tomorrow or should we just call them in the morning? Any suggestions. I don't want it returned to the Embassy. Thanks guys!

Wife and I were approved today!! Thank you to everyone who helped us along the way and answered questions. If anyone ever has any questions about VA disability and the Embassy in Manila send them my way:)
Also, how long does it take for 2go to deliver the visa? My wife chose to have home delivery.

1.looks like your above the 125% but just to be sure, bring copies of your 1040's, W2's and back statements just in case they might want to see it.
2. for you criminal history, your misconducts in the past might not be a factor. However, I do hope your assault does not involved women and children as they fall under IMBRA and Adam Walsh. Even you've already told your history to your wife, they may still disclose those information if they wish as it mandated by law (most especially for those K applicants).Also, since you've mentioned that you've indicated your history during your I-130 application, USCIS might have already ran some checks on you. The mere fact that they've approved your application is enough that your past history did not violate those IMBRA and Adam Walsh issues. However, CO might still asked those so just be prepared.

Thank you for your advice:) I will bring the 1040 from last year (although it doesn't meet the requirement). Yes, the "assault" charge was with an ex gf, however there are many circumstances around that and the case was eventually dismissed. Still not a proud moment in my life. IMBRA doesn't cover CR1 visas as we are already married like you mentioned. So I guess we'll just be prepared for questions about it.

Hi VJ family-
My wife and I will have our interview on this Thursday the 14th. We have 2 areas of concern.
1.) Financial. Last year I was in school so I had a low income. However I did receive VA disability over the 125% limit and have documented it with bank statements and letters from the VA confirming my disability rating as others have suggested. I now have had my job for 11 months and have made over 40k in salary and about 19k in disability. We're just hoping that's enough for the consulate officer and that last years taxes being low won't hurt us.
2.) I have had some criminal arrests in the past. One underage drinking, 2 disorderly conducts (paid fines), and an assault 4 that was put on deferred sentencing and later dismissed after meeting the criteria the court set forth. We disclosed all of this along with the final dispositions in the initial I-130 and my wife knows about each case. Will the consulate officer bring this up and if so what type of questions would they ask her about this??
I will be accompanying my wife to the interview. Thanks for any and all help!!!!

Our case has been complete at NVC since August 28th and we still have no interview date!! I'm seeing people getting CR1 interviews for Manila that are case complete in late September, almost a month after ours. Am I missing something here? Do the interviews get scheduled by only case complete date or is priority date also a factor? Someone please help we're so frustrated!!!!

Hi Guys!
I just called the NVC. They said the October interviews is indeed closed. Waiting game again.
The thing I don't get, besides that all of our interviews were cancelled, is that I'm seeing people with case complete dates after mine getting interview dates for Manila. Yet when I talk to the NVC they assure me interviews are scheduled by case complete date. You'd think given the "mistake" they made in scheduling and canceling our interviews we'd be put to the front of the list to get an interview. Not the case.

what direction did you receive ?
I spoke to a supervisor named Sue yesterday morning, by far the nicest of the 3 I've spoken to now. She basically said they're aware of the interview letters that were sent out for the 3rd, however they were cancelled, and told meOctober scheduling was now closed. Still no explanation offered and was told we just have to wait for an interview to be scheduled.

yeah. we did an expedite request given the "mistake" that the NVC made. that was of course denied by the embassy. also did a congressional inquiry and included the appointment letter for the 3rd and all written correspondence i've had with the NVC relating to the "mistake." haven't heard back on that as of yet. called NVC yesterday and spoke to a supervisor (3rd time) and she said we're just waiting on an interview date. well, i already know that. i don't really know what else we can do.

Good morning. My wife and I are part of the group of people who had an interview scheduled by the NVC for October 3rd in Manila, only to have them cancel it a couple days later. Has anyone else this happened to had a new interview scheduled by the NVC yet??

will update as soon as i get a hold of them.have you heard anything yet about a new interview date? i am in the same boat. had an interview scheduled for the 3rd and nvc cancelled it a day later. we're case complete for a month now and still waiting.

We just used a simple folder with acco fasteners. It held everything together nicely.
Wife arrested, charges dismissed

Hi VJ,
We are getting ready to send in our I-751 packet. My wife was arrested last November for fighting and was taken to jail where she was held over night. We got a lawyer and the charges were dismissed without prejudice. She never pled to anything, nothing was deferred, the charges were just flat our dismissed.
We answered yes to the question asking if she has ever been arrested or convicted, and will be providing certified copies of the disposition from the courthouse showing all charges were dismissed. Is there anything else I should include in the packet?
I know this should not be an issue because the charges were dismissed, just want to make sure we are doing things correctly. Thank you!!
