  1. He wanted to visit me and family, but he doesn't have strong background (not that strong of income, bank balance etc)

I have heard that you can have some business in US, and as a special expertise, you can bring someone here in US to work. I might have heard wrong, but that is why I am making sure here.

Let's say, someone is teaching YOGA in India, and you open up business here in US, and you need to bring that person as teacher, you can put file for that. is that correct? Does it seem so complex to be able to explain to lawyer rather than herE?

Sorry if I am not clear. please feel free to ask any questions you have.

  2. Hello everyone,

I came as Student Visa in 2007. Got my Green Card in 2013 March through Marriage.

My cousin tried for US Visitor Visa in 2010 when I was still student, and it got denied.

I was wondering if I, as permanent resident, can do something to help him get the Visitor's visa. If yes, what are the chances of him getting Visitor's visa?

Also, if not visitor's visa, what else can I do to get him here? Like Business visa, any particular job visa?

Thanks in advance for your valuable information

  3. Well how did you establish " the need to carry it " ? I mean the law requires that we carry it or at least that is what I understand from the welcome letter. I am just interested in finding out if we are required by law to carry it ( I don't plan to but would like to know if I am breaking the law by doing so )

I had a driver license even when I was out of status and was able to renew it so I know that doesn't proove legal residency.

CA, I gave my EAD while getting license, and I got only 1 year for that license, I have to renew again.

Also, not sure what they meant by carrying it all the time

    ..

you're not breaking law by not carrying (in country), because I haven't heard of cops asking for legal status documents if they stop you for speeding...

If I'm not mistaken, they are not supposed to inquire that. Homeland security are one of few who can ask that.

and if homeland security is asking you to prove that, you will have time to get it from your residence/apartment/home before they believe that you're illegal..

there are many illegal in this country, and they're actually breaking law... not you, :)

Sorry if I sound rude, but I wouldn't worry about carrying it all the time....

  4. Awesome Work.

    Good luck everyone

So here is my interview story guys.... Sorry, little late coming home as I stopped to get champagne..

We reached at Los Angeles USCIS office around 1:25 PM,

Waiting for 35-40 minutes, and an officer called our name, he was American guy, called us at door # 1.. he told us at the door to walk all the way from office#40 to office#8 at the end, where the his office was.

he started by the oath with right hand raised... and we both said yes..

(BTW we moved to CA 5 months back, but applied for CA driver's license last tuesday.... and said by everyone that we'll get that after a month and half by everyone, we got our license yesterday.. I am saying that because the CA license had played important role here)

so he took our passports, took my i-94 from passport. then he pronounced my name, after let me speak my name first

    questions he asked

who prepared these documents. we said.. we both did.. oh... so you saved lot of money.. (i wanna say that VisaJourney saved me lot of money,,, thanks to VISAJOURNEY,,,,, )

whats my address = i replied

to my wife- do you live at the same address? - yes

any other part time address to any of you? - no

    first itme marriage- yes

    any kids- no

saw Illinois Marriage certificate first time in his job life, so he kept looking at the certificate and examined in the detail

was impressed as I came from F1 to H1 visa

said, usually we see people with out of status, you are the other few of kind..

what you have as both of your names on it..

gave car insurance, bank statement, lease (1 from CA - 90 pages, 1 from IL previous) - he said CA lease should be enough,

I asked, you wanna seepictures? - he smiled .. i gave our ceremony pictures, honeymoon album(which my wife gave me as our first engagement ceremony gift-- it can be seen by everyone - )

he asked, you had ceremony too? and we both nodded. asked, how long. we said 5 days...

how many times you changed dress... i was like i dont remember,... 6-7 times.. haha... he smiled

then he was looking at honeymoon album, and asked why you two are the only one in this album.and i said, its our honeymoon album.. and he was like - no wonder you two were only in there.. funny... he again smiled

asked my wife,do you work.. she said she left the job after marriage...

so who's your sponsor. i said, I am sir..

he said you CANT be your own sponsor.. I knew that I can by my own sponsor, but dint want to make him wrong. so I dint say anything.

he said, since when you're working.. I replied.. since July 2009... almost four years. he said almost same time, THEN ALMOST 4 YEARS.. i replied.. YES SIR.. (got me and wifey worried for a bit)

whats your phone no-we gave landline(vonage - IL number) , do you receive that ? we said , yes.. its Vonage phone. runs on internet..

what my phone no- I gave my no- (area code- bridgeport - where i studied....

whats her phon no- she gave NJ no-

he amazed.. ntoed down all numbers.

where is my family - my parents came to visit in US... when they going back - end of may..

where is your family (to my wife).. they live in USA...

then again he asked for ID,. (not the passport).

so I gave our CA license ID (which came yday).. thats when he said. you suppoed to provide CA license as you live in CA now... we both looked at each other.. and smiled replied - yes sir...

he asked, do you have previous IDs... and we gave both our IDs... mine IL.. hers NJ... why she doesnt have NJ.. replied-- bcz after she moved to IL, I had the job offer in CA already, so we dint bother applying for her license.. (we again looked at each other and smiled bcz we both knew that CA license arrival was a big plus point)

he took my new H1 approval notice's copy (as i forgot.. dang it)

printed out my name in a letter, hit print button in his computer... asked me to check my name... and gave me that copy saying.. this letter is for your approval of the application.

we both thanked him. waited for him to make a copy of h1... thanked him again by shaking hand.. said have a nice day sir..

said 2-3 weeks to arrive PRC(Permanent Residence Card)...

took almost 45 minutes(I think its 40, but wifey said 45.. so IT IS 45..)

If I'm not clear at any of this part, feel free to ask...

Good luck to next week's candidates :)

also, 3 big interviews on 21st.. Good luck guys...

  11. I didn't post my resume. I just posted information on what I was looking for and my email address. I had over 20 scam offers the first day.

    http://www.craigslist.org/about/help/posting_fees

that's what I am talking about. they make the scam go away by letting them pay to post a job.

What you have posted is I guess is valid for getting spam.(because you provided your details, and craigslist is known for that... )BTW what area you have posted your information....

  12. I post a job ad last month and I got tons of scams.

    Did you post your resume?

Or Did you post job? - if posted a job, did you pay money?

If you post your resume, yes.. you will get scams.. tons and tons of them.

If you posted a job by paying some money, you will get scams.. but that also means you are valid company/person bcz you paid for that.

I mean, you can apply for job through that, its valid,

BTW my first job, I was found by my prev company manager in POST RESUME part in Craigslist where I posted my resume 2 days back.... Craigslist rocks...

Also try networking. That is very very fruitful. That is how I received most of my good jobs. For ideas just google "how to network for a job" and you will receive some nice tips that you may want to try.

    +1

    Linked In.

  13. Thank you and same to you. Yea he pretty much put the approved stamps on there in less than 5 min. I believe it's bc of my husband cause the other couple was in there for over an hour. Oh well it's over for now. :-) keep me updated!!!!

    Thank You.

Que: When you said he asked for both of your IDs. What did you provide? Passports should be okay rite? I am trying to insert my and my wife's license process in between the interview, so we both have same address on licenses. but don't want to screw anything up. so just wanna make sure that we don't have to have license IDs.
