  1. I would suggest contacting the IRS directly. I did and explained the situation. I spoke with about 4 people and the final person was the one with specialization in international taxes. She indicated that I don't need an ITIN for my husband, but should write the letters, "NRA" where it requests his SSN, to indicate that he is a non-resident alien. That's what I'm going with, because the ITIN will take longer than I have.

Thanks for sharing your experience, i will give them a call first thing on Monday.

However, what did you mean by saying "That's what I'm going with, because the ITIN will take longer than I have"?

  2. My wife got her ITIN for TY2010, we've been using it ever since.

So yes, for TY2012, we're filing (again) as married filing jointly, using her ITIN and my SSN.

Darnell, do you know what documents i should have for my spouse and child in order to be able

to submit ITIN for both of them ?

There were some changes in how IRS is handling ITIN Updated ITIN Procedure Changes Announced.

It is so confusing to understand :help:

    Please help !

  3. Ya, about 7 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days. But who's counting? Oh wait...that would be me.

USCIS won't look into it until their processing times are past my processing date. They are currently processing May 28, 2012, and my PD is June 7, 2012. So, I'll have to wait a little longer. I'm just hoping that they'll update to a date past June 7th, otherwise I may have to wait another month before they are willing to submit a service request. I just hope they approve me before the update. Whatever, though. I don't want to turn this into a discussion about Vermont I-130 processing times. We have enough of it in the rest of the forum!

Can't wait to submit my paperwork to NVC, though! I'm ready to go (minus 2012 taxes since I have to wait until the end of Feb to take advantage of Registered tax breaks).

    Just waiting on NOA2!

    Hi,

Could you please explain the following in details ? - (minus 2012 taxes since I have to wait until the end of Feb to take advantage of Registered tax breaks).

As we are all in a process of getting the taxes ready, this info might be helpful to all :)

  4. As Saylin explained those are two separate trackes (bills) and each form follow there another, If you rec'd the AOS bill you can go ahead and pay the 88.00 fee if you have already send/email the DS3032 (choice of agent) you have nothing further to do at this point. Other then pay the fee and prepare the packet (AOS I-864, Tax transcript, employment letter, pay stubs (optional).

Once AOS show PAID give it a few days and you will receive the IV fee bill.

    As mentioned, follow Saylin's recommendation.

You will be fine, no worries :)

  5. Thank you for reply how about my baby,do i need to re send the I-130 form?! And somebody told me that it takes a months..

If you have a child before your spouse become a USC then there should be another petition i-130 for the child.

I would advice to file it immediately, and mention that spouse has a pending i-130.

  6. I created an account in uscis and turned on email and text notification. So I got a email and text message at the same time. Then I checked my case status and confirmed.

Do i still need to create an account in USCIS, if i already filed Form G-1145, E-Notification of Application/Petition Acceptance ?

ps: my NOA1 for each petition were received by text, email and later in mail.
