Has your fiance got his visa and left? if he did well and good, but if he didn't, I would like to ask, am in Ethiopia and in order to answer your question, I would like to know his nationality? because different nationalities need different papers to exit Ethiopia once they got their immigrant visas.

i only need to know how long your administrative process last..... is been 4 months now and my is still on administrative process.... my visa a re-approved one.

I am in Administrative Processing for 1 year 7 months! and there is no sign of it coming to an end anytime soon.....

from your govt that U R U since they known U in childhood, wars and mayhem

in those areas have caused the US govt to be extra cautious in areas where ppl

dies daily and another may assume their identity, Plus those govt have no steady

systematic record as ppl R always fleeing. Find the proof have U no old Passport or ID?

I understand your point but the thing is that all of those things you suggested will not be accepted by the embassy due to lack of functional government and systematic records in the country that I lived in all my life, the embassy clearly stated it will not be able to verify any document from my home country.

I am truly a worried person!!

no i did not misunderstand, thats a new thing that every Somali applicant here at the US Embassy in Addis Ababa had been told since the start of the year and I have seen many people wondering what to do next?

I think its some sort of indirect visa denial.

I am from Somalia and had had my CR1 visa interview in Feb 2013 in Ethiopia due to lack of US diplomatic presence in my country and was placed under AP, a year later the embassy called me and told that the AP is over, however we cannot issue a visa unless you provide a proof of identity indicating that this was your name 2 years prior to your application and the odd thing is I have lived in my country all my life and the officer said they will not accept any document from somalia.

note: I came to ethiopia in 2011 which is when i started the process.

What should I do guys?

It looks like they are going to issue the visa, have heard cases where the status went from "Administrative Processing" to "Ready" and then "Issued"

so lets hope you are one of those.

Hello friends, have not been using the site so often lately as i was trying to avoid the AP frustrations.

there has been some updates this month but the status remains the same. AP

my case has been updated three times this month without any inquiries.

last voluntary update was 8th April 2013

so what do you guys think of this, and one more thing, am out of the country with my phone number being off, will the embassy email me or is it good idea to return to the country while the AP is still unfinished?

Yes dear still under Ap.on 27th Feb my 4th medical will expire .In my pc ceac site is not working from last week.

Man that is really frustrating and painful but in sha Allah you will hear good news soon.

I don't really know why the site is not working in your pc but for me it has been working fine.

Well.... I know 6 months is too long for some, but for someone like me that is not too long.... I have been in AP for 1 year and still there is no sign of getting out of it!!

I have seen photos being one of the first things they ask for during the interview in Addis Ababa, but if you cannot get them in one way or another try to explain the reasons why you cannot get them in details!

Just present all documents they are asking for and her visa will be sorted.
