As mdyoung said.....we were told at the AOS interview that 2 years from the day the AOS was approved we can apply and that we have a 90 day window . Not 2 years after marriage....

Yeah I heard of couples who were not asked for any proof because of the photos. They had albums with lots of pictures and the interviewer just kept on asking questions based on the pictures (ex. who is this? where is this?)>

I think , it tends to be that way - long wait. You mailed the application in January of this year, we sent them August last year and only today we had our interview. As others have said , it does depend on the processing times at your distric office . It is a long wait for some of us .......

Follow procedures, at the interview they ask you when you started working , YOu don't want to set yourselves up. Can you imagine how bad it would make it for you? not worth it

Amazing. I wish I could have my own horse. Happy for you

Wow! 100 people isn't a small wedding, really.
If you're going to include the price of your gown in this figure, I'm gonna shot strictly from the hip and say 5 grand minimum....
You are soo right, we live in Chicago and our wedding - 100 guests. we went over $10,000 and it was not grand, it was simple and nothing special ,really. Maybe the food was kinda expensive $50 per plate.

I am shocked, I would never expect this to happen to you....Hope everything will work out for you and you will be able to move on, . I can't imagine how you must feel, we have all put much effort to make our relationships work overseas and now this.....I have no ideea but hope this does no harm to your future visits to the USA>

SOOOO we were approved BUT we almost did not make it....... (really long post .sorry)
Our interview was at 9:15AM, it takes us 30 mins. to get to downtown so we left at 7:30AM just to make sure. Traffic on the way, I was driving....Well we were almost there when I felt my hand weird, as I turned the wheel I saw NO WEDDING BAND ON, NO ENGAGEMENT RING ON...I never< NEVER get out of the house without them and now here I was going to an interview where we had to prove that our marriage was legitimate and I had no wedding band on.
It was 8:00AM allready., I called my mother, she called my brother to come bring the wedding band..HE could not find it, he had no gas in his car blah blah blah, my mom had to go give him the wedding band because he is 19 and you know lives in another world and doesn't really care about anything. I was freaking out, it was a nightmare. Well, he came we got there, looked for parking.
At 9:03AM we were parking, at 9:08AM we entered the building, security check..at 9:14 we were at the 2nd floor. We gave the NOA, sat down. We heard them call a name we recognized, it was some family friends that came to our wedding. Well after them, they called us and gave us the NOA back. WE were sent to the 23rd floor where we had to show them the NOA again and to sit down. We sat next to our friends, started talking (they were pretty scared had a lawyer with them, he lived here for a few years without paperwork). Barelly said anything to them, 1 minute later a lady came and called my husband's name.
She did not tell us her name! no introduction, It made me more nervous. On the NOA it says on the bottom 17 maybe that has something to do with whom interviews you., SHe was blonde really tall and slim with glasses. SHE LOOKED SO FAMILIAR. We went to her office, She made us raise our right hands and asked us if we swear to say the truth and blah blah. She then asked us to sit down and to get our ID's out. We put them on the desk, SHE DID NOT LOOK AT THEM. Then she asked my husband to remove the I94 from the passport and give it to her, he did just that. After that she said "Nicolai get your paperwork out". Well when she said that I got the paperwork out because I am the one who took care of everything, he has no idea all I had to do. SHe looked a bit surprised. THen she got a papercut blah blah.
As she was looking at her computer I kept on looking at her engagement ring, SHE LOOKED SO FAMILIAR. SOOO FAMILIAR, even her ring was familiar, I had seen that BIG BIG ring before.
AND she was so quiet and it made me so worried and I had felt the same feeling before with the same person.
She just asked my husband those same questions that I saw others from this forum were asked. Your date of birth, were you arrested, etc. THen how did you guys meet? .She then asked for Income Tax for 2005. We were worried about the proof, but we were okay. She asked if we have something together, I told her we just had savings/checking accounts, health insurance, car insurance. I explained to her that we live with my parents. She asked if our two cars are on both our names. I told her they were both on my name since I had bought one before I even met him and the other before he had any paperwork here. She then said. OKAY YOU GUYS ARE APPROVED. Stamped the passport she made a mistake, restamped it and rewrote all. She said she had not done this in 6 years. "DOn't worry guys I know how to process K1s" She called someone to ask about the stamp, if she wrote all correct. Gave us the passport back then asked for it again because she forgot to write the 6 in CHI CF - 6. THAT was it
SHE LOOKED SO FAMILIAR??? exactly 2 years ago I became a US citizen. I had an interview then too, Guess who it was? HER. same lady. I was so worried then and now, because she does not look very friendly, she does not do any small talk.. She does not talk to much and is always in a hurry. I told her we brought the picture for nothing. She replied by saying "I could take a look at them, but I am busy. Bye you guys, good luck." She kind of threw us out
We didn't mind
We went to the interview without submitting the vaccination supplement. We were pressed for time then and figured we will just get a RFE and send them the supplement then. We just sent in a vaccination sheet that they gave to my husband in Romania. Now we figured, they should not call us to an interview if something was wrong so we did not do them. We were willing to take a change but I have to say that we were pretty nervous about that. I would not recommend not doing them and then feeling that way at the interview.
Long post SORRY again. Even like this I did not write all that I wanted to. If there is misspelling and sentences that do not make sense I apologize, I was trying to write fast.

forgot to mention that she did not look at ANYTHING. She just took the income tax and put it in the files. I asked her, you don't want to see our bank statements, health insurance cards or car insurance? she said "No, I just put down here that I saw the originals" ... She did not even look at them, I had them in my hand the whole time.

Thank you for sharing and now you can move on with one less thing to worry about --- Good Luck!

Our interview is on Monday in Chicago at 9:00AM...We are a little worried because we might not have enough proof.
We live with my parents so we have NO lease, NO bills, NO car with both names on. We do have: savings/checking accounts with both names, car insurance with both names, medical coverage together (he is my dependent), 2005 joint tax, and pictures. THAT IS ALL
.
Hopefully it will all go well.

Well my husbands mom-- I don't think she was very happy. When she found out that he was going to move here in US,,with me and that I was not the one who was moving there she was speechlessssss.SHe still hopes that we are going to move back to Romania...I doubt it though. She loves her son as much as any mother does and I do not blame her for wanting her son close.
Otherwise, they all think that his life here is better with many more opportunities, they don't have a realistic image of how living here is, they think we have all the money we want here , and its not true.....

Does she have her vaccination worksheet (its a white sheet of paper form DS3025) from Bogota? I just sent a copy of that (I didn't bother with the I693 and we were not RFEd and no one asked at the time of the interview either. I was willing to take a chance of a little delay (a few months won't have mattered much to us) so, you can try it if you feel the same way - but others have been rfed for not sending the I693.
I did use a little trick (I didn't know I was doing it at the time) - in my cover letter i wrote the contents as 1,2 3, etc. and for number "8" I wrote "Vaccination Supplement" - maybe that did the trick (I submitted the copy of DS3025.)
Good Luck
This is exactly what we did and we got no RFE (yet). We sent in that vaccination worksheet from the initial medical visit.
Our interview is on Monday and WELL now I am worried because we do not have the vaccination supplement. We were willing to take a chance too but I wish we would have just done in the first place..
My husband says to just forget about it and we will see what happens on Monday.

We were in the same situation for 3 years, we would meet summer time in Romania and then webcam webcam webcam, I used to hate it, I wanted to just throw the monitor out the window. It feels so good now to be together every night, to not be dependent on computers and phones. This will eventually be over for those of you who are still going through it, and being together will be so much better ... you will appreciate having the one that you love next you every day. ..
........it is hard, I don't even want to remember those times

I gave up bread, pasta and all sweets
