  1. Hi. I have a question regarding Part 7. It should be an easy question to answer but we are having trouble with this one.

My husband came here almost 4 years ago . This questions asks: HOW MANY TOTAL DAYS DID YOU SPEND OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES DURING THE PAST FIVE YEARS? When we answer this question do we include that full year that he was in Romania? We think it should be included it since he was outside the US. But this was not a trip, he was living there.

    Thanks...

  2. Me and my brother and my mom have traveled using the consulate issued document. We've had no problems. As far as getting a new passport in Romania, at the passport agency there was no need to pay emergency fee. We had to just go to the office for Romanians who have residency in another country. They have this and there they just ask by when you need it. We did not need to wait in the same long lines since the office for Romanians who do not live in ROmania has different hours. Many do not know that they don't need to go to the same lines where the rest of the ROmanians wait, at least this is how it is in CLUJ.

As far as getting a passport here at the consulate, internetkafe, it takes a few months and they do not have the time for that.

  3. This is what happens when you keep pestering the USCIS with silly enquiries.

It takes them several years to get around to processing your request when you already forgot what it was.

We never contacted them about anything. No enquiries so far.... Oh well, now maybe yes.

You never called the 800 number, emailed the Service Center, or contacted

your congressman to expedite your case?

NEVER. Nobody Never! Thats why we don't know what to make of it. It would make sense if we did but N E V E R tried to contact them.

  5. I recieved the same letter about 2 months ago.... I asked at infopass and found out that it came from a call I made to the infoline when I was waiting for my EAD.. I do remember them saying they would start a case status check and to call back in 30 days.... it has only taken them 14 months to send a response....

    Kezzie

Wow, 14 months that was short. Well, we never gave them a call, have an infopass or anything of that sort. We never contacted them about anything.

Thank you for your responses everyone. I will try to contact them now

  6. I've posted this already in the Adjustment of Status area. But, here it goes again. I'm hoping has an ideea of what is this letter we received.

So, we had our AOS interview in May and received the greencard shortly after. Today I open the mail and there is a letter from the USCIS. This is what it says:

    Re: XXXXnameXXXX

On 9/8/2006 you, or your designated representative, contacted the National Customer Service Center about your case. Some of the key information give at that time was the following:

    Case type: I485

    Receipt Number: MSCXXXXXXXXXX

    A Number: AXXXXXXX

Since the date the request was received concerning the application referenced above, Service systems show that your application was approved and the card or document was produced. The card or document was sent to the address on file at the time, and it has not been returned to the Service as undeliverable.

Therefore, the above-referenced inquiry is considered to be resolved. If you applied for an Employment Authorization Document (I-765) or an Advanced Parole Document (I-131) and did not receive it, you will need to reapply with the correct fee and documentation. However, if you have since received your Legal Permanent Residence card (I-551), you do not need to apply for these documents because you may work and travel as a Legal Permanent Resident. If you applied to adjust your status (I-485) or to replace your Legal Permanent Resident Card (I-90) and you did not receive your card, you will need to file form I-90 "A", Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, with the correct fee and documentation.

You may download these forms by visiting the webiste at www.uscis.gov.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Please remember: By law, every person who is not a U.S. citizen and who is over the age of 14 must also notify the Department of Homeland Security within 10 days from when the move (persons in "A" or "G" nonimmigrant status are exempt from this requirement). If you have moved please complete form AR-11 and mail it to the address shown on that form. If you do not have this form, you can print it from our website or you can call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283 to request the form. If you change your address, we also request that you call USCIS, at the number above, with the new address as soon as possible.

I am confused, why are they sending us this letter. We did not contact them on 9/8/2006. Why would we? We have the greencard, all is good. Who called? Why do they have the Receipt Number and A Number. We never had to call the USCIS. We have no representative. Anyone have an ideeea of what might have happened here?

    Thanks,

  8. People need to learn to tell the difference between problems with a computer and problems with the software on the computer. The Dell running slow after six months could be tied to no defag being done, no disk clean up being done or other issues. Or it could be tied to the computer. However, I persoanlly feel that Dell is the best computer around. I have two at home and used one at work for years.

The past three years I have had to use IBM laptops at work. They are not as bad as what I expected. A bit heavy, but overall quite good.

Also, isn't Compaq owned by HP? Shows how good that merger went if the HP computer is good and the Compaq one is bad.

 I also have 2 Dells that work great, the Compaq ...I don't even want to turn it on, I've been close to throwing it out the window a couple of times tough

  9. would you rather they leave the poop so you can step in it???:huh::wacko:

seems like common curtesy to me.

I'd rather they not walk their dogs where I might walk....

It's still nasty to follow any animal picking up it's poop :dead:

so you would never get a pet? because of the picking up the poop? :hehe:

  10. I'm going to work in a few hours! I love holiday pay, too bad it will be a usual Monday at the Casino I work!

I just got home from work  had no choice but to go while my husband was HOME ALONE.
