Because we never got the green card, nor any notification as to the status of the I-751. It just sat there and was not touched until the citizenship interview. If it's not processed and you're eligible to apply for citizenship, I'd suggest applying for citizenship. That way it forces the processing of the green card and the two separate case files will be merged. So when you have your interview like my wife it will likely be a dual interview. I hope that makes sense.

UPDATE: My wife's ROC application was never processed at CSC. She had her citizenship interview on 12/20 and it was a double interview where the officer asked her questions about our relationship alongside the normal citizenship topics (even though I came with just in case, I was not involved in the interviews at all). She passed both interviews and will have her oath of allegiance on 01/18. Because of this, no 10-year green card was ever issued and the immigration officer approved the ROC at the same time as approving her N-400. We're done with this stuff once and for all.

My wife just had her interview. It took 19 minutes and she was approved! Now we're just waiting to find out when the Oath of Allegiance will be. The officer said a few weeks, but I'm guessing it will be about a month to 5 or 6 weeks.

Yes, our I-751 was approved in June 2017 after 11 months. But in the interview letter they say to bring evidence from the last 3 years so I basically repllicated the I-751 file (with updated versions of everything)

Did they specifically say they'll be adjudicating the I-751 in the interview letter? Or is that just usually assumed? My wife's I-751 is still pending and she has her citizenship interview next month.

Saying all that, I would advise you to bring copies of all evidences you sent for ROC, plus their updated versions (like new bank and credit card statements, new leases and and whatever you have updated so far). When I came to my AOS interview I brought only the originals of copies sent and some pictures, and was sort of scolded by the officer for not bringing updated evidences (like we traveled again to my home country during the processing of my application and did not bring those tickets for the interview). ROC interview should not be of difference in that sense.
Thanks for the difference. Unfortunately, I forgot to make copies of a lot of the stuff we sent with the ROC package and will only be bringing updated evidence of everything. :/

I would suggest you accompany your wife and at least wait in the waiting room incase you are called upon by the IO.
So even though I'm not named on the letter they'll let me into the interview waiting area? Seems strange, but ok. Do people usually bring more mounds of evidence, from what you've seen? Or should the first mound we sent with the ROC application have been transferred from CSC the field office?

My wife just got her interview letter yesterday. At the time of submitting the N-400 my wife's I-751 was still pending because the CSC moves slower than molasses in January. Because of this, I was concerned that we'd have to have a dual interview and bring mounds of paperwork with us to prove our relationship at the time of her citizenship interview. However, her letter says nothing about me coming with her. Does that mean it won't be a dual interview? Has anyone here had a dual interview? Do they specifically mention that in the letter if it's needed? I'm assuming so, but just wanted to make sure.

At the time of submitting the N-400 my wife's I-751 was still pending because the CSC moves slower than molasses in January. Because of this, I was concerned that we'd have to have a dual interview and bring mounds of paperwork with us to prove our relationship at the time of her citizenship interview. However, her letter says nothing about me coming with her. Does that mean it won't be a dual interview? Has anyone here had a dual interview? Do they specifically mention that in the letter if it's needed? I'm assuming so, but just wanted to make sure.

I would think so too..It just delays the i-751 approval until they decide to adjudicate the n-400 processing..So you are left wondering what's going on with the renewal all the time.My window opened in April this year and now that I think about it,maybe filing for naturalization back then would have been a better option than now..But being a long time stalker,I have seen otherwise too on this forum,so maybe there are exceptions.
I hope my wife's will be an exception.

My thoughts are that the reason my wife hasn't been approved has to do with the N-400 being in process.

It looks like they're following the current processing date showing on the USCIS website and that it's not reflecting a time lag.

The ROC portion of the interview will be more of just a formality since they are adjudicating the N400 on the same day, they won't go very indepth into the ROC part and instead just make sure they have all supporting documents before moving onto the N400 interview. So I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Because of it being a double interview with me involved asking questions they already have answers to based on a stack of evidence we sent in July 2016.

If she was eligible to apply for the N400, then it doesn't matter if the ROC is still pending. It's not your fault they are taking so long to process the ROC. Lots file both concurrently....the N400 will force USCIS to adjudicate the I-751 either right before or at the same time during her Naturalization Interview.
Coming over here from the August 2017 thread...It looks like my wife will be in that same boat in regards to them adjudicating both at her naturalization interview and I'm really not looking forward to it. Congrats on your interview.

Thanks! She applied two months after the 90 day window started. She applied online and received an confirmation letter that her application was received on ELIS a day later.
