  1. I'm a newbie here.. Anyone ca help me please??? Regarding DS 157.. I paid my K1 visa last August 31, 2012 in the nearest BPI in my place but the teller didn't give me a validated form of DS 157.. Do i still need to go back to the bank where i made the transaction and ask for it?? thank you!

You just have to fill up and print the ds 157 online..the teller will not give you one...

  2. Looks 24 hours will be more likely.

The receipt number is normally the passport number, there have been exceptions, just copy it exactly as its printed on the receipt... but wait until its be 24 hrs at least.

Yes... I'll try again later... Thanks!:)

  3. Due to a problem with the computers we were NEVER able to get the system to take our receipt number online. We could only call in online. The embassy could not figure it out either.

if you cannot get it to take the number within a day or two, then call in. (make sure you use the full passport number, often XX#######, etc.)

It is often easier to call the US Embassy in Manila from the USA than from Manila. If you try and call on a local land line, the connections are expensive and poor. Cell services in the Philippines for a phone call that can take 30 minutes can be nearly impossible. The US Embassy has a "local" USA number. ("Callers in the U.S should call (214) 571-1600, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time).")

And if you do call, be VERY polite. These people are often the recipient of all kinds of frustration. Accept that they can do no more to fix your problems than the cashier at Jollibee Bee could prepare you a steak and martini. If there is a problem there is not much they can do. They have very limited access to information and very limited options. But be nice to them and you will get more than you might otherwise.

Ok.. Noted! I have to ask him to call the US embassy then... Thanks for your response... :)

  4. your receipt# is your passport# are u using that as your receipt#? then if not try it

if your still having problem using passport#...my advise wait until 24hrs....but make sure to check time to time esp. now i heard it's hard to set an appointment due to no available dates..goodluck

Yes..I'm using my passport number as my receipt number.. I tried again a while ago but still the same thing...maybe i need to wait still...thanks for your response though.. I appreciated it... :)

  5. Hello VJ members... I'm having a hard time scheduling for interview... The website is always telling me this...

No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number. Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for. [*********]

what should I do? I paid the fee earlier this afternoon [philippines time] and they said I could schedule for interview after four hours but its almost 12 mn and still nothing happens... I'm really frustrated right now coz I want thisnto get done... I entered my passport number as my receipt number and I even tried putting the numbers that was printed in my receipt, still the website is telling me the same thing..

    Can anyone help me?

    Thank you in advance....

  6. You already have your MNL # and have paid your visa fee. Don't worry about your package arriving at the embassy and for sure don't sit and wait for the letter from the embassy - my wife would still be waiting for that letter as its never arrived. Go online and schedule your interview, read the embassy letter ( link below) and complete/gather all necessary documents, then the medical at St. Luke's and lastly CFO.

    Manila Embassy:

After NOA2 AND YOU HAVE YOUR MNL # (don't need to wait for the letter from the embassy )

    http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3023.html

Once you have your MNL # :

You can pay your nonimmigrant visa application fee with cash or debit card at any Bank of Philippine Islands. Before going to the bank, you must print the applicable U.S. visa application deposit slip available below on this page. Take the printed deposit slip with you to pay your fee. If you print a deposit slip in advance of the day in which you plan to make your payment, please take note of the expiration date on the deposit slip. If the expiration date passes prior to using the slip to make your payment, simply return to this site and re-click the appropriate link below to generate a new deposit slip. Bank agents will NOT accept payments based on expired deposit slips. Upon receiving of your payment, bank will issue you a receipt. Save your receipt. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number.

    http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-paymentinfo.asp

Select the deposit slip that matches your visa application fee from the list below. Values are shown in U.S. dollars and native currency. This page has more information about the different visa application fees.

    http://ustraveldocs.com/ph/ph-niv-visafeeinfo.asp

For K-1 the fee is $240

After you have paid the visa application fee, keep the BANK receipt for your records. It cannot be replaced if it is lost. You will not be able to schedule an appointment without your receipt number.

If you have an account with either Bank of Philippine Islands (BPI) or BancNet you may choose to pay your visa application fee online using their online bill pay services. Click on either of the links below if you are a BPI or BancNet customer and wish to make an online payment.

If you are paying for more than one applicant, please DO NOT make a lump sum payment for all the applicants. A UID/receipt number is required for each visa application fee payment for EACH applicant for scheduling an appointment. After you have paid the visa application fee, please keep the fee receipt for your records.

    Receipt Format

Note: If you have a Bank of Philippine Islands receipt, your fee receipt number should be your passport number. If something other than your passport number appears in the circled area on the graphic, use that information as your receipt number. This receipt number verifies your payment and allows you to schedule your visa interview

When scheduling online with the embassy you need to include the "XX" at the beginning.

Priorty Date; this is the date the NOA 1 was accepted.

Make sure to print two copies of the interview confirmation page as you will need one for St. Luke's and the other (maybe, they might mail the interview letter) for the embassy.

    St. Luke's:

    http://www.slec.ph/us-visa-applicants.shtml#required-docs

Have copies of passport bio page, confirmation page from scheduling interview online at embassy (or if the embassy mails a confirmation letter bring a copy of that), and of course the 2X2 photos. (copy of annulment is asked for at times)

PREREGISTER at St. Luke's website, it saves time when you arrive. http://www.slec.ph/us/registration/

    CFO:

ALL exiting required to attend. There have been changes regarding CFO so for sure read through their website.

    http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1348:fiancee-spouses-and-other-partners-of-foreign-nationals&catid=140

Required documents & "OTHER DOCUMENTS" they ask for at CFO: copies of; CENOMAR, certified birth certificate, bio page of passport, visa page from passport, pictures together, from USC - bio page of passport, birth certificate, divorce decree (if been married before) are the most common. The "other documents" clause can be ANYTHING with those nit-wits at CFO.

** From the Family Code of the Philippines: it's 21-25 years old for advice and 18-21 years old for consent.

Such consent shall be manifested in writing by the interested party, who personally appears before the proper local civil registrar, or in the form of an affidavit made in the presence of two witnesses and attested before any official authorized by law to administer oaths. The personal manifestation shall be recorded in both applications for marriage license, and the affidavit, if one is executed instead, shall be attached to said applications. (61a)

Art. 15. Any contracting party between the age of twenty-one and twenty-five shall be obliged to ask their parents or guardian for advice upon the intended marriage. If they do not obtain such advice, or if it be unfavorable, the marriage license shall not be issued till after three months following the completion of the publication of the application therefor.A sworn statement by the contracting parties to the effect that such advice has been sought, together with the written advice given, if any, shall be attached to the application for marriage license. Awwww... :) thanks for the info! It will help me a lot... But right now I'm having a hard time scheduling for my interview....

  7. Nope. As long as you have your MNL number, you can have your medical exam but make sure you pay the visa and schedule your embassy appointment first. You need to show them the appointment letter you have once you made your appointment online or by phone (easier if online). Thats what my fiance did. He just had his medical last Sept 4. He never got any letter from embassy.

Here's what you need to bring during medical:

    1. Passport orig and copy

    2. Orig St. Lukes Appointment Letter and 2 copies

    3. 4 cps 2x2 passport photos with white background

    4. NVC letter copy

    5. I-797 Copy

    6. Copy of appointment letter at Embassy

Thanks for the info... :) I already paid the visa fee earlier this afternoon...and right now I'm having a hard time scheduling for my interview...I guess I have to wait till tom.

  9. I emailed the IV correspondence unit of US embassy in Manila 2 weeks ago and they just answered my queries tonight... I ask them if they already have my physical case, they said that they don't have my I29f yet and once they have received my i29f they will notify me regarding my interview scheduling... Now my problem is I already paid for my Visa fee in BPI.. Will I get in trouble regarding this? Or I just did the right thing? Btw.. I already know my case number...

  10. I just read some article regarding the k1 visa..they said that they need the physical file for the case in order to have the medical exam, what if i dont have the physical file for my case, but I already know my case number... can i still have my medical exam? What should I bring then for my medical exam?
