I am thinking about writing a 2-pager on our whole story. I think it falls more into the category of "proof of ongoing relationship", which we don't need to present until the embassy interview, but better to send that to be sure that they understand the "circumstances" of how we established our relationship. Also, we have hundreds of photos. Maybe I will send a couple dozen of those that I didn't include before.
All of this along with what I submitted with the initial I129F is probably overkill. But I honestly don't understand how we got RFE'd for this in the first place
M&J
BTW, thanks everyone for your advice!
Yes... Do that... That's what me and my fiance did... He wrote his own story of how we met until we got engaged and I did that also, then he attached that to our i129...

You will have to get a police clearance if you live outside the Philippines for more than 6 or 9 mos. I guess... You don't need to get a police clearance in the Philippines, Nbi is more than enough.
It's ok if you don't have your vaccine records just tell them you don't have one, everybody unless they already have the vaccines will undergo vaccination it depends upon the doctor on duty... Like on my case I had four shots.
If you need any help do not hesitate to ask me..

Seven days to go till my interview day. I'm so anxious right now that I always sleep late and I woke up so early. Sometimes I don't even have an appetite to eat that's why I lose some weight already, this is not getting healthy anymore and I pity my fiance because I always bent my frustrations to him but he's a cool guy and he always understands me that's why I know I will marry the right guy he loves me more especially when I'm moody.
We're only both 23 years old and we've been together for almost 5 years, some may doubt us because we will be getting married too soon and they always say that many things might happen and our relationship as a young couple might end too soon but it's all good we know that we're doing the right thing and everyday is a learning process you will never learn until your in that situation. We've both promised that we will make our relationship last forever.

You can apply for the ATT (authorization to test) through any state in the U.S. Each state has its own requirements. Check out the Board of Nursing website of the state where you want to apply. Once you have fulfilled the requirements of the state where you applied, and have received the ATT, you can sit for the NCLEX-RN anywhere you want, including your home town here in the U.S. You do not need to take the test in the state where you applied for the NCLEX.
Once you have passed the NCLEX-RN, you will be issued an RN license by the state in which you applied. That license authorizes you to work as an RN in that state. If you instead want to work in the state where you live, you can transfer your license to your state through a procedure called "license by endorsement." Each state has it's own requirements for licensing by endorsement. Once you have completed the licensing by endorsement process, you will be licensed in your state and can go to work as an RN.
Chinook applied through the state of Vermont, and was accepted. She sat for the NCLEX-RN in the State of Washington. She passed the test, and was licensed by the State of Vermont. Then she applied through the State of Washington for a license by endorsement. It took a month or so for Washington to grant her a license. Chinook started working as an RN here in Washington about three months after the Washington State Board of Nursing issued her license.
Here are Chinook's recommendations to prepare for the NCLEX-RN:
> Saunders Comprehensive Fourth Edition-- A good book for the basics. Also, pay close attention to the pharma.
> Exam Cram-- A good book for analysis. The practice questions are similar in style to the actual test.
> LaCharity-- A good book for prioritization.
> NCLEX3500-- Free online review. Good for analysis. Questions are more challenging than Saunders.
> Memorize only the very basic lab values. If you try to understand the concept first, the analysis becomes easier.
> Answer at least 100 questions every day.
> Chinook self-studied for the NCLEX-RN. She always wanted to feel fresh and relaxed when she was studying, so she would study for an hour or so at a time. Then, when she was feeling tired, she would take a short nap.
Good luck on the NCLEX. There are jobs out there waiting for you!
Mabuhay ang Pinay RN's !!!
Wow! Thanks for the infos...
saunders is a big help... I have that book already...
I'm planning to take my exam in california but after reading some blogs last night I feel like taking the exam in other state and just have that license by endorsement, because the BON in california is now constantly denying applications of Filipino foreign graduates because of “California Code of Regulations Section 1426(d) states that theory and clinical practice shall be concurrent.” After that the BON is advising the applicant to take another course of classes.

My Fiancé has her Medical Appt. on Oct 16, 2012 and her interview on Oct 26 , 2012 .
I was curious if anyone here on VJ also has the same scheduled dates, or if not
What are yours ?
My medical is on last sept 17... Tell her to go as early as 3am if she wants to finish it in just one day and tell her to wear a dress so it's much more easier to dress and undress, she has to be attentive regarding when they call her name because the sound system there is mess up...
My interview will be on oct 19
Good luck...

My interview will be on 24.. and i dnt have a date for my medical yet.. right now im waiting for the letter from manila embassy..i ddnt have it yet..if i will have it this week..i will have my medical on 15.. from where is your fiance? I'm from cebu...
You don't need to wait any letter from the embassy or you want to email them and ask if they already have your case? As of this matter they're not sending any snail mail to us what I did is I just send them an email asking if they already have my case and then they replied to me saying yes they already have my case and then they instruct me on how to proceed in scheduling my interview and medical, but I already did that ahead of time. Btw..you just have to go in Manila and just go to your medical go there as early as 3am if you want to finish it in one day.. Good luck!

Are you trying to enter the US by a tourist visa? If yes... I don't think letters are valid you should get a sponsor and let him get an affidavit of support form that's what my aunt did when she tried to help me to study in the US.but if you have a pending petition since I read that you have filed for CR1 I don't think they will give you s tourist visa.

I am the husband (Wife is currently licensed in Texas),,,
First you need to find a state that will give authorise you to take the test it is called ATT (Authorization to Test).
Usually, from most states we checked,,, it involves (at a minimum).
1. Evaluate ATT/Licensing requirements for the (BON) Board of Nursing in various states.
2. Send application and fee to the BON for the state you are seeking the ATT and licensing
3. Get your transcripts evaluated. (Note: need to use an Evaluation Company the state accepts)
a. Send application and money to the Evaluation Company.
b. Have your college send an official copy of the transcripts directly to that company
c. If you are an RN in the PI (like my wife is) have the PRC (Phil Reg Commission) send a VOL (Verification
of License) directly to the Evaluation Company
4. If you satisify ALL the requirements for the BON you will be issed an ATT number.
5. Register to take the NCLEX test using the ATT and pay the fees.
6. Take the test and hopefully pass.
Note: I Highly suggest you take the NCLEX test prep in the Philippines before attempting the NCLEX.
From my observation and wifes initial failure Was due to inadequate knowledge in two areas.
1. Drugs (Philippines does not cover the very expensive and common USA drug regiments)
2. Prioritization: The way the questions are formatted,,, it was difficult di-sect the question
and arrive at the correct answer.
My wife went back to the Philippines and attended the first 6 weeks of the Kaplan test prep. She said,
really made the prioritization portion of the test EASY.
(Note: The wife passed the PI RN test w/out attending test prep) so, do not think the NCLEX is easier as some
suggest.
Regards,
dc
Thanks for the infos sir!
kaplan test prep is quite expensive here in the Philippines but I know it will be worth it, what I did is I bought some highly recommended books like saunders, mosby and kaplan so yeah I'm just self reviewing right now but I will try to talk to my fiancé about this matter. Thanks again and God bless you...

After your NOA2 you still have to wait for two weeks and call the NVC again to know your case number once you have your case number thats the only time you can pay the visa fee and after 24 hrs you can schedule your interview online or by phone. I don't think you can re-schedule your appt. I tried calling them before schedule my appt OL but they said there is no available slot yet but when I check OL there is available slot. So I suggest just schedule your appt. OL

I applied a tourist visa last 2010 the consul ask me if I already been in the US I said yes thru a student visa, and now I wanted to go back and enter as a tourist and to attend my fiance's sisters wedding... He said that I might not go back to the Philippines if they will give me a tourist visa because my fiance is already there. In short he denied my application. Or if you really want to go to the US might as well get a student visa. Good luck!

To all pinay nurses... I'm just wondering if I need my Diploma, TOR, board cert, license, board rating to be authenticated/red ribbon? And what are the other docs that I need to get ready before applying for NCLEX.

The first 3 mos. of the k1 process is the most agonizing part for me it feels like a waiting game and no one knows what will happen next. I felt frustrated but then my fiance was always there for me to calm me down and back me up, He help me to get through this he told me to just focus to my review for nclex and not to over think...I'm just stressing out my self if I always think of how slow things are going with my application and aside from reviewing I enrolled to a local gym... and yeah it helps me a lot...time flies by so fast and where almost done with the k1 process and soon I know I will see him again.
So never give up just hold on to one another, a support from your partner really helps a lot.

Kuha ka pa din ng police cert. tumira kb sa ibang bansa?

Im sorry to say this.. But that totally sucks... I think the consul doesn't know what shes doing... And from my point of view thats discrimination I hope she tried to look at your papers first before she ripped the papers
if you guys are related to each other thats incest already and I don't think anyone will do that especially if they trying to get in the US... I hope everything goes well after the DNA and you guys could get your interview..
