    Yes I'm a Pakistani

Great for passport here is what I suggest.

Load up a 10 dollar balance on Raza.com app and call the embassy from USA and wait for someone to answer. Best day to call is Mid week. After an hour hold or less someone will answer and as soon as they answer be very specific first. Say hello I am calling to get my passport returned as no one is responding to my email/query. If you start with hello I want to inquire about my case status, good luck... they will hang up or move you to automated vm immediately.

I sent an inquiry to this address 2 days ago In order to get a case update and also to confirm if they have received the documents on ceac but no reply yet.

They will not provide you with case update on that email address. It is meant only for document transition. Email them the pics and at the same time call up ceac to confirm if embassy has the pics u uploaded from portal

Are we supposed to email the documents and pictures? And exactly which email address is where we send those?

I am not sure who told you that email is not an option. I would have asked the counselor for the email address. This is what I have: IslamabadIVInquiry@state.gov

be very careful in including your case details in the email. Also once uploaded to ceac, you can call ceac and confirm if embassy received your uploaded pics.

Am I the only one to think so? I hope I am right and we reunite with our loved ones soon.

More and more Applicants are receiving Visas in hand after the Ds-5535 after only 40, 60 and 90 days?

Is this a good sign? Some from December have received Visas in hand too, and mostly from Morocco and Pakistan.

Best of Luck to all :)

My husband called the senator office. She said that they cant do anything on this and then she said she can only email and ask the update. This was last week but no update from the senator office and the embassy.

The day embassy responds to the senator, your update date will change. I would say easiest way is to keep an eye on your case and wait for the date to change and then give them a call a day later.

For sure let’s keep hope for the best nothing else we can do but this is what I have heard don’t know either true or not that if you apply from gulf countries it does end somewhere before  60 days. But obviously no plans at all yet.

Let’s hope that is true for you if u applied from gulf :)My moms application has been in ready since September of 2018 and my father’s application in in AP since then. He was working for American oil company in ksa 25 years ago and had no travel history for the last 15 years. So wait is the only thing now. I have had 16 updates to a point where now I see both their cases being updated on seperate dates but all we can do is hope for the best.  😊

We do, my husband's father is nearing 1 year of AP next week. He received the DS 5535 the day after his interview. How long have you been waiting?

Oh I wish he gets his visa soon. We have been in AP since sept 2018. I have seen over 14 updates now and the last was on January 30. My dad was put in AP and my mother was told she would get her visa right away but her status has been in ready ever since interview with no updates since the interview date.

  8. The whole process I am sure has impact on everyone’s personal life for those who go thru it. I need my parents the most right now to get our and my parents living life style better as we are working parents and would love to have our kids grow up around them. And thAt is just the gist of it. I had to pause my masters and what not and having parents all depressed worries you and it’s hard to focus at times. I am sure every one here waiting for their love one goes thru the same pain or maybe even more. All we can do is have hope and stay positive. The wait will end one day I am sure and when it does for those that are waiting, they will be smiling. :)

Update:  There is no darn update. 🤬😠. We have been waiting 18 months since my husband’s last interview. We have seen so many “file touches” over that time that I have lost count. We have emailed for a status once every four months. The Consulate stopped responding to my emails after we have been waiting in AP for a year. We got our Senator involved who has been willing to make two inquiries since that time. Both times they keep telling the Senator we need to wait, but no explanation why we are waiting.  The last email from the Moroccan Consulate said it can take anywhere from 6-12 months to get through DS5535 and Additional Proccessing, never mind the fact that we have been waiting 18 months already. The Senator said she will address the expected wait time frame that they mentioned in their email response to her when she follows up again in February.  Originally she said she would follow up in 90 days, but I pushed for sooner. Our attorney tells us there is nothing we can do but wait, so now I’m wondering why I bothered to pay her for her services. She has been useless to us. We have been together since 2010, and we married in 2014. I have flown to be with him 14 times. We have traveled to another country together once on vacation. We have insurance, rental agreements, joint bills, and bank accounts together.  We have multiple affidavits from people supporting us, attesting to our relationship, including my daughter. This AP makes no sense!!  My husband passes every darn background check that they have put him through, but we are still playing their waiting game with absolutley no explanation why. This has got to change!  There must be a way to get past this point, I just haven’t figured out how or who the magic person is that I need to speak with to get my husband home with me finally. So if someone knows I would be grateful if you could share your wisdom.

It is frustrating indeed. My congressman’s immigration department case handler today finally told me that she had a response 20 days ago and she forgot to tell me that. Now what can I say here as I had contacted her in the past too.  Her response was “.. well you have to wait more as case is in AP sir. That is what I got in the letter from them. I have sent u a copy of the letter too.” I asked her if she would do a re inquiry in a few months and she said sure and to submit the request over again. I will be reaching out to the senator in 60 days now. I wish there was more debate on this topic as family unity plays a vital role in immigration and well being of families.
