  • Our Story
We met when I was 6 and he 9! We became BFFs when I was 8. But fell in love when I was 10. We developed a young love story that everyone was anxious to see how it would end. On February 28, 2012, I went to Haiti for about 2 months to visit with family, friends, including him. On the first week of March 2012, we decided that we had waited long enough---Now that we are both adults, we are ready to settle down and marry :)O and K...Together we are OK :)On February 14, 2013 our K1 Visa was approved! We are one step closer to being Mr & Mrs L. :)-Update-We became Mr & Mrs L on June 9, 2013!On December 13, 2013, O's Green Card was approved without an interview or RFE! To God be the glory!

  1. Just read this on the Immigrant Fee (www.uscis.gov/ImmigrantFee): Children who enter the United States under either the Orphan or Hague adoption programs, Iraqi and Afghan special immigrants, returning residents (SB-1s), and those issued K visas are the only immigrant visa cases exempt from paying the new fee.

Does that mean K1 are exempt from paying the fee? And if you already paid, can you get a refund?

Yep, that's what it means... K1, K2, K3 do not pay the immigrant fee as their visa type is a non-immigrant one.
