  1. Finally, I can see our status online..its says Initial Review stage..then also says last updated 12/14/2012...that means touch right? keeping it optimistic and hoping for no RFE for this Beneficiary Birth certificate ...that are lately being requested for some people. Just glad to be able to check our status now..I think Ill be on it everyday.

When I was filing the I-130, I don't recall them asking for the beneficiary's birth certificate! Is it required or what??? :o :o

  2. My I-130 was just approved a few days ago. I haven't received my hard copy so I don't know exactly where it was processed. It was transferred to a USCIS office from Vermont on September the 13th. It took them exactly 2 months to process my case after transfer, Less than 3 months since I mailed it out. I don't know if it was "auto-expedited" like they used to do it, but I know it was fast. I will come back and update you guys as to where it was processed when I receive the hard copy.

are you and your husband both in Jordan? If so, maybe that's why it was "Auto-expedite"

    Congrats :D

  3. You are AMAZING!!! Seriously, if I could reach out and hug you right now I would! It worked! It said that they attempts delivery but was unsuccessful but a note was left. A bit difficult to do at a PO box address I would assume. Should I contact USPS and give them the physical address fr the Chicago facility?

Same happened to me... the mailing agency didn't get it there cause the PO address was not clear to them.. I had to send the I-130 again!!!!!!!!!!! which was horrible :( but i sent it thru another mailing agency and it got there thank god :)

I hope you don't have to file it again! :)

  4. Am I the only one starting to think us petitioners living abroad kinda shot ourselves in the foot using our foreign address?

So far ppl getting approved that didn't have an expedited request were transferred out of NBC to their local field office from the Aug and Sep filers as well.

However I have yet to see someone who is at NBC from after Aug 15 get an NOA2 =/

I know November just started but....meh...maybe I'll start worrying when December rolls around.

I am in the same boat as you ... :\ I sent an expedite request for an emergency case and I don't know when they will let me know if I am approved for it or not... :( I hope it goes fast cause we need to be in the US soon!! :(

  5. Hi guys,

I sent out my I-130 form with everything in the mail on September 16th from Egypt. I haven't heard back from them at all neither did the check get withdrawn from my bank account. I am sure I submitted everything and all papers were signed and ready to go. Did anyone face this problem? What should I do? does that mean I was rejected? Please help me out I very sad at the moment :( :( :(

  6. Hi Basbosa :) Cool name by the way! :)

I just finished my I-130 and I am filing from Egypt as well. For my case, I had a contract also for the "Katb-El-Ketaab" and then we had to go to the ministry of Justice to make a new contract and then we translated it in "Shahr El 3akarry" and that took us a lot of time :( For you, I am not sure If you could just translate el-3akkd (katb-el kitab contract) ... But I think the certificate of translation, and the translation itself are enough :)

For my American Passport, I just made back and white regular copies. that works fine.

For the G-325A, you fill one for "yourself" and another one with "HIS" information. My husband also lived all his life in Egypt and I just wrote things in English. For example: El-nozha, Faysal, Masr El Gdida! NO ARABIC here!

As for the evidence, me and my husband went to the bank and he made me a power of attorney (TAWKEEL) on his account. I will submit that along with money transfers that he sent me when I was in the US (Western Union, NSGB transfers, etc.) Some people never sent pictures and they are fine. I just sent some from katb-kitab and wedding and some with his family. Just don't overload cause you will need them in the interview!!!! and use pictures from different occasions. Like a day out, at a cafe, etc.!

As for the K-visa, I would just stick to one visa type only. I would recommend the CR1!! :)

I hope I helped :) you can private message me as well, I would love to help :)

  7. :help: For all people who know about the mailing system of Egypt, If I mail my I-130 form through "Egypt Post" or "El-bareed El-Masry", which address listed on the application should I write??

    1. For U.S. Postal Service:

    USCIS

    P.O. Box 804625

    Chicago, IL 60680-4107

    2. For Express mail and courier deliveries:

    USCIS

    Attn: I-130

    131 South Dearborn-3rd Floor

    Chicago, IL 60603-5517

I think it's the first address, but I want to check? Any previous experience with this issue? Also, what if I asked to make it express at "Egypt Post", will it still be the same address?

  8. Meno-is-mine :)

Thank you for all that info! it really made me more aware of the average timeline I will be facing. However, what do you mean by "file from Egypt"?? I am currently in Egypt now.. do you mean send my papers to the embassy? I have all my papers ready expect for the Military papers and my husband's passport. Are these needed to be submitted now or after the I-130 is approved? I have all my papers ready and want to do it right now, but I am not sure if these two things will delay me for now! :)

Please let me know :) thanks a lot!

  9. Hey everyone, I have to say that this is an AWESOME forum to get help .. I just need all the help I could get to make sure my husband and I are on the correct path. I am an American with Egyptian background "masrya" :) Egyptian parents! I meet my husband 3 years ago and then finally got married in June 2012. I have been in Egypt since May 2012. I need to be in the US with my husband some time in February/March 2012. I will be going through the DCF at the US Embassy in Cairo in November (so I can complete the 6 month residency period) ... However, I want to get ready to go in and submit the I-130 form at the first appointment. My question for now is what exactly is needed for the first appointment at the embassy? Do they approve the I-130 the same day? How long will it take to receive packet 3? What is in packet 3 so I can prepare from now and not waste time? and how long does it take till I get my packet 4? and what is the approximate wait for the interview? is it a packed embassy and I have to wait months to get an appointment?? So many questions, but I would appreciate if you sbare your experience so you can help two young couples :) :) I read all the guides on VJ but still, life-experience is the only way to understand what is going on? oh, last question, what about the military documents! did any of you had to get delayed for that?
