CASE COMPLETE CASE COMPLETE CASE COMPLETE
I swear I almost started crying while on the phone to the NVC. This process is so damn stressful and we're almost done.
Totally burst into tears the moment I got off the phone. The first time Ive cried this entire process too.

Right? I even check the fed ex tracking in the middle of the night to make sure its on the east coast! Also it was only a 10 dollar difference between 3 days and overnight when I did it both times. 10 bucks? For peace of mind? Ill take it.

I think everyone's point (whether they realize it or not) is if this community is questioning the authenticity of the writing, what must the CO think? We are a pretty accepting and supportive community. The CO's sole job is to sniff out fraud.
All it means is Texy and his wife need to go above and beyond the normal measures of evidence in order to soothe any doubts.

One of me and my husband's (who is the Kiwi) favorite trips we flew from Auckland to Christchurch and relocated an RV from Christchurch to Auckland in 5 days.
I concur with the South Island tip. Its amazing. Queenstown is a MUST. Fly down to Christchurch, drive to Queenstown with a stop at the magnificent Lake Tekapo. Over to Dunedin and back up seeing the Blue Penguins and stone buildings in Oamaru.
If you could push it past 10 days, it would be ideal. My mother came over for two weeks and it just felt like we were rushed in everything!
If you want some budgeting ideas, we used transfercar.co.nz a LOT. Also grabaseat.co.nz for flight deals.

I'm not sure what you expected going in to the process, then. With years and years of data showing exactly what to expect, and being able to move through the process even faster due to having the immense guides those before us have so thoughtfully put together.
Why do you think youre entitled to a waiver? If IR1/CR1s start saying its unfair, what about the K1s and K3s and etc etc etc.
I dont LIKE to wait but when we decided to go for the CR1, we looked at the road ahead of us and decided it was the right thing to do. Please don't make it seem like I like to be apart from my husband.
Youre drumming up the wrong support. Your original post was in regards to the Dream Act. So if its just that you don't want to wait normal processing time, then that's just silly. You were approved in 6 months.. at the VSC no less. You are lucky lucky lucky that it was that short.
This wait is a drop in the bucket for the time we get to be married and living with our loves. Your time is better spent going through the NVC and prepping for the interview. Not stirring the pot of "anti-illegal" sentiment, which is truly heartbreaking from this community.
Also you posted on a public board, you can't tell everyone who doesn't agree with you to mind their own business. It's not how it works. Message boards are discussions. And I am truly worried some people are blaming their waits on the Dream Act (other threads have come up before).

See, I did read every post before I replied, and found there to be some very hateful things being said. Whether you said it or not, it seems like people following your lead are doing it for the wrong reasons.
Shouldnt be this long? How long should it be? Look at the volume of applications they get. Im surprised its this short!
My point was, dont use the Dream Act as your gunpowder, because its the wrong ammo.

Wait, if everyone is in NORMAL PROCESSING TIME then why are you complaining?
It has not been 5 months since the applications have been accepted for the Dream Act. So anyone outside of 5 months haven't had their "place in line" affected whatsoever.
Delays outside of "normal processing time" are the norm. Look back in VJ history.
You're looking for someone to blame. Don't blame these kids who grew up here with NO choice, established their identities here and then have been too scared to progress forward legally for fear of deportation.
Hell yeah, Dream Act. Hell yeah, legal immigration too. And in that vein, Hell yeah bilingual (trilingual? quadringual?) country.
Count me out. I knew I would be in this game for up to a year. If it takes longer than that, THEN I'll worry. For now we just gotta keep on truckin' !

aprice138 got a reaction from Teague in IR1 OCOTOBER FILER STILL WAITING FOR NOA2 :(
I dont think mostly all the October filers have been approved. Of the statistics just from this site (which are a sliver of the actual cases) less than 40% have been approved for October. You can see that here:
    http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=2&visa=3&scenter=4&option=3&sortby=2
Not even Sept filers are at 50%.
We have the same NOA1 date. If we got an approval now, I would be over the moon but I am in no way expecting it til Jan. And even then, we are lucky lucky lucky!

aprice138 got a reaction from NikLR in Aug and after I-130 Petitions (NBC Filers)
Im not sure how people who are at the NBC can know what fair is. We have been learning the process and timelines as it goes. Its a different thing than the CSC and VSC. It can be unfair to people who would normally progress faster, sure. And there are people who have to wait a long time, some with RFEs, some with countries with high fraud, or some with difficult backgrounds. People from VSC complain about people from CSC and vice versa when the workload delays approvals. I believe theres a Rolling Stone song about all this..
It sucks to be apart from those you love, but it is not unfair. You could go be with them, and if you are with them abroad, you are already among the lucky ones. I COULD go to NZ and be with my husband but I know that this sacrifice is for the best (in our lives personally). And honestly I should have read about DCF or spouse abroad filing before coming back to the States to file, but c'est la vie.
This board isn't about comparing who gets the raw deal and who gets lucky, its about sharing information and helping others move through this process as quickly as possible. So I agree, OP, those at the MSC need to be more patient. I am also sick of seeing people read about one or two cases where the approval was under 60 days and thinking that should have been them.
As I tell my husband every day, this will be the most difficult and trying part of our marriage and when its over, I get to have him by my side again. Nothing worth having is ever easy

I would DEFINITELY call the number on this page http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/npic/npic_898.html
and ask if they know anything about it and see if they can look up your passport number.
That sounds super weird and suspicious since there are no news updates about that on their website.

aprice138 got a reaction from NikLR in i 130 approval time
Every case is different, you cant just go up and down the numbers and see cases that are similar to yours. They will all be different and have different processing times. Even two people filing the same petition at the same time at the same service center will have different approval times.
Its frustrating waiting but it does no good to try to blame other petitioners going through the same process we are.
All you can do it make sure you're ready for the next step and call to get a Tier 2 person.
Also I cant find any information that the VSC handles the I-821D (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), so Im not sure it has anything to do with it.
