The Service Centers are the big clearinghouses for applications. You'll recall filing for previous benefits by sending forms to Vermont, Texas, California, etc -- the National Benefits Center (NBC) is just like one of those. They are going to review your application for completeness, start the background checks, pull your previous files, etc.
 
Then they'll send all of that to your Local Office, which is where you will have your interview, and who will schedule your oath ceremony.
 
Because we all go through the same process at the NBC, your wait time is going to be entirely dependent on your Local Office. They have different case loads, processing speeds, etc., which we can see even in this thread.
 
99% of the time, you will get sent to the local office that matches your current zip code, which you can look up here: https://www.uscis.gov/about-us/find-uscis-office/field-offices
 
Rarely, your case may be sent to a different local office for processing in order to balance case loads. That is 100% up to USCIS, and you cannot control that whatsoever. In most cases it will be a good thing, because you'll get faster processing than you would if you're stuck in line at a very slow/backed up office.
 
Application Support Centers (ASCs) are something else entirely -- these are where you go for biometrics, and typically that's all they do at that office. Your biometrics appointment is always scheduled at your nearest ASC.

OK as you've mentioned that your driver license is going to expire very soon, why not just go over to the DMV and ask for renewal. I'm sure the DMV will understand that you trying to have a valid DL and not waiting or wanting to diver with expired one. I'd recommend that you at least try to g to DMV and renew it with your GC still valid.

I checked CEAC website today and I have found 3 N/A - called NVC tonight and hooooooooray I got CASE COMPLETE!!! I'm soooo happy I'm DONE with NVC lool - I told the CR this is one of the best Birthday present ever!!! which is today lool
I don't know how this happened, especially when NVC requested Marriage Termination document several times, that was incorrectly translated and I confirmed that too, but I'm so happy regardless!!!
They might want to put my case at an Embassy or Consulate level, so they might request the correct document at that point, and I already have all the correct paper works to give to the Consulate.
I have not receive any email, and also I'm not sure when they might schedule the interview? I heard, they're done with Jan. 2016 schedule, not sure.

I concur, it is a game! these guys are collecting pay checks sitting on their desk doing nothing! and not even answering the phone when calling NVC - there are times I stayed for more than an hour for a Rep. to answer the phone telling me BS you gotta wait 60, 42 , 30 etc days for one document to be reviewed by a supervisor, which they are not available 99% of the times or at the meetings! it's ridiculous!

We are all in the same boat including NVC - I called the op and a supervisor, they does not have access to do anything on my file, update email or anything, she stated it's broken. But there should be a downtime procedure to follow, when hell broke lose, they're putting the "SYSTEM" in between as an excuse -
I not sure if we can at least do it the old ways/days, use forms DS-3032 (Choice of Agent form) and DS-230 - mail in all supporting documents, checks and all?
Again, downtime procedure should be in place when "system fail"

I used TaxAct online, and I just finished e-file my taxes as married filing separately, and it has been accepted by the IRS - So you can e-file your taxes with NRA written in the SSN field - I will have to paper mail in my State tax though, since the State reject e-filing without SSN of NRA spouse.

Forgot to say-- if you have kids, you probably qualify to file as Head of Household. That is generally what a single Mom might use. But because your husband does not live with you look at the qualifications in the third column of page 23.

My interview went well. I went with my husband, they let him wait with me in the lobby. I studied very hard, but I was still nervous before the interview. We had to wait a long time, but the woman was nice and helped me feel more comfortable. I was only asked 6 questions because I got them all right.
1) When was the Dclaration of Idependence adopted?
2) How many justices are there on the supreme court?
3) What did the Declaration of Idependence do?
4) If both the president and the vice president cannot serve, who becomes the president?
5) For how many years is a US Senator elected?
6) What does the President's Cabinet do?
