  1. "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."

Woohoo, the NVC are finally doing something lol.

Did you call everyday asking for your case number...I ask because it seems like you are getting invoiced faster than most so I'm wondering if you had your case number a lot earlier than Aug 24th but didn't know it.

If you called every day and the 24th is accurate, I may get invoiced on Monday ;)

  2. thanks for saving me a post....i got my case # and INN yesterday but when I log in to pay....nuthin. more time to get my i-864 docs in order i suppose :) I wanted to update my timeline, but didn´t know what to put for NVC received....should I wait to get the paper reciept to update?

In the fillers thread, it looks like they are invoicing for those who got their case number on the 16th right now so you can work from there.

  3. Planning to do both - I emailed the DS3032 as soon as I found out I had a case number and am checking the payment portal - https://ceac.state.gov/CTRAC/Invoice/Invoice.aspx?node=Invoice - to see when I get invoiced. like many others once I pay it and the portal says it is paid I will print out the cover sheets and send the paperwork.

Im overseas so snail mail takes a while so I just collect what I get in the mail as souvenirs.

  4. Kattie,

My situation is almost identical to yours so see my signature below. It is pretty quick (compared to other situations) and relatively pain free. Just a lot of paperwork of course! I have used the guides here and that has made it a lot easier.

Proof of domicile (intent) will be your biggest hurdle so get to work on that right away.

  5. They only asked for his.. uuhhh uuuhhhohhhh....... ummmm now what? :////

Can i call again and add my email address?

the dude was rude when talkn to me. And i was shocked i got it.

Yes call back and make sure they have both the petitioner and beneficiary emails. Get your IIN number as well. Seems to really depend who you get. When I called they asked me for all the info including the emails and it was only when I asked for the case number that I definitely knew it had been entered.

  6. Ok! But got my case number last nite. He said i have to wait on instructions before anything riiiggt.... i can send in ds3032? And what bout payment online? O glad i finally got it!

Received case and noa2 on Aug 6. Case number aug.24. Ugh seems to long

Yes - see the template a few posts above this one and also the one at the beginning of this thread.

You have to wait until they invoice you for payment online. Hopefully you gave them your two email addresses.

I'm at the same stage as you are.

  7. Decided to go with this one - Email has now gone out!

this DS-3032 email template worked great for me. or you can use the LingChe template.

so you have two options that have worked great so far.

  8. VISA APPROVED! Interview was pretty easy! 2.5 hours total, but only 5 minutes with the American Consulate Officer. The questions were pretty basic. Rest of it was preliminary stuff, including fingerprints and all!

All done! Thanks to all that helped. Special thanks to Saylin. Keep up the great work!

Great news...Hope that means I get mine in 2 days since I was August 10th! Thanks for sharing.

  9. Hello,

I'm a USC moving back to the US after 10 years abroad. I had US car insurance my whole driving life with no accidents but obviously I havent had it for the last 10 years in the US (I did in the foriegn country but I imagine that doesn't count).

Am I going to pay the price or would I get a quote similar to if I had never left?

Just trying to plan it out and wonder about others experience.

Im over 35 (since it might be a different story if I was younger).

    Thanks

  10. Yayyy they received my case!!!! Do I call every day until they assign me a number??

Also, I fired our atty a week before our i-130 was approved. I hand wrote a letter stating this and gave my address/phone number. I wonder, will NVC send my paperwork to me or my ex-attorney?

You can although it seems to be taking at least the minimum 10 business days. You can see my timeline below, I call every 2-3 days.

The next form you need to submit will allow you to change to address (View the first post in this thread and the email instructions). Good luck.

Out of curiosity, can you reveal why you fired your attorney?

  11. For the second part of your question, start here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

Then ask specific questions in this part of the forum when it comes to your specific situation.

I don't know Russian specific VISA requirements when it comes to tourist VISAs but there are Regional forums here which are probably a better help.

  12. Called today again still no case number..... Am I suppose to say something specifically besides asking for the case number????

No, there either is one or there isn't. Let us know the date that the NVC recieved your case as that will give you a rough idea on when your case number will be available.

I'm expecting mine next week based on them receiving my case Aug 10th (although calling every couple of days just in case)

So how long is it usually till they, assign a case number? They, received case same say as NOA2 which was on aug. 6. Still nice case number..

10-20 business days although based on the fact that someone in this thread whose case was received by NVC on July 30th has theirs, you should have yours any day now.

Please post when you do (including the Aug 6th date for reference)!

  13. Today I rcvd notice that USCIS has approved our I-129F Petition for my wife and was put in the mail today August 20, 2012.

I am excited to see what is next to come. I believe that the I-864 is next for me to complete along with other information to complete and then all of this to her in Morocco so she can have an interview at the American Consulate there.

I had completed all of the paperwork and procedures without an Immigration Lawyer for the I-130 and I-129F but now I am thinking to hire one.

Why are you considering that now? Is there a specific issue that you anticipate will come up that will need their assistance?
